Their constant whining and pearl clutching about "saving democracy" is amusing to watch, and also very transparent. They have totally redefined the word "democracy" to mean "existential threat to OUR ideology". Period.
Cue the "we need to pack/replace/whatever the Supreme Court" stuff from the libtards.
Imagine living in Colorado, where the State Supreme Court actually ruled that this was legally valid! That's my reality. A beautiful state that has been overrun by Californians fleeing the result of their own policies, but bringing their politics with them.
Yes, many Californians have migrated there, but the 5 judges on the Colorado Supreme Court who voted for this idiocy all went to Ivy League schools. The 4 dissenters went to state universities. The elites know better & have it out for us.
I'm a senior citizen who will be moving to Colorado in around 18 months, to be near family. Wish me luck, lol. (In fairness, my apolitical son and his wife, having moved to the Denver area from Phoenix a couple of years ago, love Colorado...fingers crossed they will continue to find it lovable.)
As a Colorado native I was furious with the Secretary of State Jena Griswold and completely dismayed by the 4 Colorado Supreme Court Justices decision to remove Trump. As far as I’m concerned the justices and Griswold should be charged with trying to subvert our democracy and each be removed from office. The chaos that would have ensued would be tragic to say the least, they had to have know that and THEY should be held accountable. What would have stopped “Republican”states from removing Biden, he’s allowed an invasion of our country by illegal aliens, treason anyone? The People decide who represents them- sick of bureaucrats and elitists thinking they can control everything!
I prob *should* feel sorry for them, but those w/ extreme TDS helped push school closures lasting over a year. Their monomania drove them hurt kids - & kids most at risk were hurt the most. So, yeah, no quarter.
Spot on. That is a core tenant of Progressive ideology, that us commoners are too dumb to make decisions for ourselves. It all derives from the evil mind of Woodrow Wilson.
There’s such a tendency to echo chamber in academia (ironically) and a real social benefit to being part of the “smart” in-crowd that I’m not at all surprised that some fairly serious law profs would fall into this bat-s*** craziness. Do these people even hear themselves? Can you imagine the tables being turned?
it would eventually lead to every state recognizing their own president until the "confederacy of taylor swift" goes to war against the "lots of guns states" in an effort to reunite the union but only too late realizes their tragic mistake
In 2020 she put out a picture of herself holding a plate of cookies that had Biden written on them in frosting. She has to be careful because most of her fans are so young. It's their parents who purchase tickets.
Some of the woke craziness in law schools is horrifying - IIRC, Yale in particular. Essentially, "We must all pledge to NEVER support someone accused of XYZ heresy." Uh... so you don't believe everyone deserves a fair trial?!?!?
I don’t think you fully understand the situation here. Oh sure, innocent until PROVEN guilty sounds nice, but you gotta admit it’s needlessly resource intensive. For instance, we all know, as do the 5 CO justices, that Trump IS guilty - it’s just a matter of time. You don’t switch over to the vile evil Republican Party unless you’ve got something to hide. Don’t forget, Trump is about as white as an old white guy can be - that alone makes him guilty.
Don’t’cha think it’s time to just come to our senses?
Now with Trump back on ballots all across the country we have to deal with the fallout of having a real election that matters - dead trees to print ballots, the environmental impact of millions ( 🤔 sorry - BILLIONS) of early voter ballots and the wear&tear on postal vehicles AND post{insert approved neo-gender title here}, unnecessary car trips to cast votes, etc. Have you no compassion for Mother Earth or the poor under paid down trodden comrades joyfully delivering your latest Amazon tchotchke.
I am so ashamed knowing we share the same forum. Brute!
Exactly what I always think. And when the tables DO turn, as they do on occasion, they have no recognition that it's the same treatment they've been dealing out.
The really sad thing is that so much time and effort has been wasted on such a self evident matter that even a moderately intelligent gerbil would have seen it clearly.
LOL, she's 75 and not going anywhere. She just prefers the drooling idiot currently in the White House, fascism, inflation, a trashed economy, a porous southern border, forever wars, and the US being a global laughingstock. All because Orange Man Bad is a big meanie.
WOW! How can she not see how bad it is? I don't get it. I know people who feel the same way she does. When I ask them about inflation they repeat the media talking points, all countries are dealing with inflation. If I talk about the open border, it's the same. They tell me it's Republican's fault because they won't pass the border bill. My own daughter still thinks Trump is the devil.
It defies logic. Even if they can't stand Trump's abrasive personality, they should be able to admit that things were better for the American people during his administration. They're all about feelings, not facts.
This is such great news! Perhaps next they can rule on something preventing states from civilly suing a private citizen, when there is no harm done to anyone, and because a judge has angst about Trump. Between the ridiculous penalties, threat of seizure of property based on that penalty, and inability to work on in any business at an executive level in NYC, this whole things smacks of Nazi procedure (don't like Jewish people, take their assets, if a private citizen does not like this policy, seize their assets as well. Sound familiar?) . I worked in a financial institution once after Sarbanes and Dodd Frank regulations were implemented. There is a highly stressed section about banks performing due diligence, so even though a realtor may believe a property is worth $500k, the banks MUST perform their own independent appraisal to determine value and not put their investors money at risk., not take the word of a realtor. Therefore, no matter what Trump's organization reported the value as, this falls to the banks to obtain their own appraisal. I am a Certified Fraud Examiner and this whole thing stinks to me.
I think I’d need some if I had to be in the same room with Jena. From her comments I can only guess she was too busy drafting DEI mandates to learn anything in her government 101 class.
Funny how the DEI crowd just doesn’t want that applied to their collegiate basketball or football teams. No hypocrisy there...
This may be the first time in the last 20 or so years that liberal justices actually followed the law instead of making up their own law when ruling on a case. It makes me think they have something else planned because liberal justices on the SCOTUS do not follow the law.
I happen to believe that if a case reached the SC as to whether illegal aliens have a Constitutional right to defecate on my living room couch, I am confident that I would win that case but not necessarily by a unanimous decision like the one just decided.
My personal conspiracy theory is that the elite know the economy is about to tank and they want to hang it on Trump so that no one will vote Republican for the next generation and they can claim it is capitalism's fault.
All the Supreme Court justices agree on the law in a significant portion of their decisions. According to Politifact: "Since at least 2008, [9-0 decisions] usually accounted for a plurality of rulings, and they never fell below 36% of all rulings during that period." I heard that in the 2022-23 term, 45% of SCOTUS opinions were unanimous.
Trump wasn’t even convicted of insurrection, he was accused. And the Colorado Supreme Court broke the first and most basic tenet of law that someone is presumed innocent before being proven guilty. And this is spoken as someone that hates Trump. The fact they acted on their own disgusts me.
Absolutely. But taught by ppl who actually understand how and why our REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC was formed. Remember most teachers today are brainwashed by “higher” learning institutions too.
About a twelve years ago my son got into it with his government teacher in high school because he answered (correctly) that we don’t have a democracy. It may be a democratic process but it’s set up to make policy changes slow down and be given both public and legal review so as to avert mob mentality. The forces of progressivism have been working overtime for a looong time.
Wow. The fact that I am celebrating this win is depressing...how did this even make it to the SC? You're such an optimist, Alex. And I do appreciate it; I hope you're right that this is a sign of sanity to come.
(PS we’re allowed to vote for who we want because we’re a constitutional republic, not a democracy; in a republic, the individual is protected from the majority by the Rule of Law)
Cue the pearl-clutching "END OF DEMOCRACY" paranoid, unhinged rants from the insane leftists. <sigh>
People actually voting for the candidate of their choice is an "existential threat to democracy" - says the aristocracy.
Their constant whining and pearl clutching about "saving democracy" is amusing to watch, and also very transparent. They have totally redefined the word "democracy" to mean "existential threat to OUR ideology". Period.
Oh they will cry!!!😉😊
Cue the "we need to pack/replace/whatever the Supreme Court" stuff from the libtards.

I think, as I read somewhere recently, that I’ll start referring to them as the Poison Ivy League schools. It fits.
Touche
I went to a state university. What a coincidence!
Quite TELLING isn't it of academia in the USA far worse than anyone can imagine
Let them keep trying. We will stand in truth and justice and they will be defeated.
Move to the Western Slope! We’re still not all totally nuts here!!

Election Interference, plain & simple and a serious federal felony.
Amen.
"should be charged with trying to subvert our democracy and each be removed from office"
Yes! I'm so tired of so many disregarding laws with zero consequences!!!
zero accountability is in my opinion the single greatest existential crisis in America on all levels of society now
Absolutely.
IKR? 🤯🤬
TDS is a very very strong virus. Makes people do things they would not do otherwise. I almost feel sorry for them, to go through life with such anger.
There must be a vaccine for that! Lol
Perhaps we could make a “vaccine” they should be required to take.🤨
I prob *should* feel sorry for them, but those w/ extreme TDS helped push school closures lasting over a year. Their monomania drove them hurt kids - & kids most at risk were hurt the most. So, yeah, no quarter.
That these arrogant dweebs think they should make every decision for us, because we can't be trusted to make the right decision, is what frosts me.
Spot on. That is a core tenant of Progressive ideology, that us commoners are too dumb to make decisions for ourselves. It all derives from the evil mind of Woodrow Wilson.
And since this was such a slam dunk decision as a matter of law, why shouldn't the 4 Colorado Justices be disbarred for gross incompetency?
Election interference by the Colorado Supreme Court.
There’s such a tendency to echo chamber in academia (ironically) and a real social benefit to being part of the “smart” in-crowd that I’m not at all surprised that some fairly serious law profs would fall into this bat-s*** craziness. 🤦🏼♀️😂 (funny/not funny lol)
"Confederacy of Taylor Swift". I love that! Our Demented in Chief actually wants Taylor's endorsement. 🤦
Thanks, Louise Jr!
She really went all Hollywood when she left Country music for pop star.
I believe she’d likely give him her endorsement.
They completely ignore "innocent until proven guilty"--except when it helps them.
Yep. Just like how everyone was "Sick until Proven Healthy" with Covid (had to lockdown, mask & vax, despite 0 symptoms or even 0 exposure!)
That still makes me angry. And did they ever give Orange Man Bad credit for speeding up approval of the vaccine they wanted so badly?
I don’t think you fully understand the situation here. Oh sure, innocent until PROVEN guilty sounds nice, but you gotta admit it’s needlessly resource intensive. Oh, you are so right! Thank you for the correction. 😉
Don't you guys recognize satire when it hits you in the face?
And when it's one of them, no proof is conclusive.
Commie 101
Exactly what I always think. And when the tables DO turn, as they do on occasion, they have no recognition that it's the same treatment they've been dealing out.
Again, six year olds playing “ goldfish” .. changing the rules as they go along….
They couldn’t recognize a barn if they were in one. They are blinded by the lies they embrace.
They would implode.
Let’s never be like them.
They would implode or spontaneously burn up. I’d make a couple bags of popcorn and enjoy the show.
I think you need to branch off from c19 and start exploring "long TDS". Maybe "science" can find a cure.
Interesting idea, although I think TDS drove a lot of Covidian insanity - many of the symptoms stem from the same disease.
👍😂
The really sad thing is that so much time and effort has been wasted on such a self evident matter that even a moderately intelligent gerbil would have seen it clearly.
Exactly.
I woke up to this good and most welcome news. Perhaps not all is lost. Thank you to the Supremes…. Somebody best check up on Whoopi Goldberg…..
Whew, indeed. One step closer to the possibility of my mother-in-law moving to Canada in a hissy fit.
Fingers crossed for your sake.

To me it's a no brainer, we were much better off under Trump. They're still traumatized from 2015.
lol 😂
🤣🤣🤣❤️

it helps that he was literally acquitted by congress for this supposed offense

colorado should never have legalized weed

They should definitely add a couple of cheerleaders to the Denver Broncos.
They might even tackle better, who knows.

Absolutely. But taught by ppl who actually understand how and why our REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC was formed. Remember most teachers today are brainwashed by “higher” learning institutions too.

Gotta be the biggest “DUH” moment in SCOTUS history.
only 20 pages...say's it all lol
Wow. The fact that I am celebrating this win is depressing...how did this even make it to the SC? You're such an optimist, Alex. And I do appreciate it; I hope you're right that this is a sign of sanity to come.
And for some comic relief….

Just CRAZY how so FEW in America understand what you just said. SO FUNDAMENTAL too
Amen. I’m encouraged to hear that SCOTUS has interpreted the constitution and not tried to rewrite it. Yay!
Let the meltdown begin. Bad orange man
