Covid has become integral to these people's self-conception. They're not ready to let it go. They're also not exactly the type to ever admit being so egregiously wrong about something. Better to pretend that the vaccine actually prevents transmission and ignore any cognitive dissonance.
Hi Alex - longtime fan of your work (and subscriber). There are 97 four year colleges out of over 2600 four colleges left mandating COVID vaccines for fall enrollment. They have perhaps never looked more ridiculous than they do right now. Many if not most have outdated language on their Websites and some still claim vaccinations are to "protect our community". If you are inclined to amplify this information; check out our Website at www.nocollegemandates.com where we keep lists so parents and students can chose wisely. You can also follow our work on Twitter @NCM4Ever. Thanks, Lucia Sinatra, Co-founder
It's not for health reasons, it's a purity test -- to see if you have sworn your loyalty to The Narrative. Proof that you are a member of the Covidian religion.
My recent college grad son with a Communication/Journalism degree (Yes, Alex, some are keeping the flame alive) is finding his employment options limited due to the same draconian, scientifically-foundationless stupidity. Most of these prospective employers are WAY too woke for his or anyone's good. (I'm talking to you WHYY!) I'm confident one day soon he'll appreciate the amount of courage he (and his parents) exhibited in the face of it all.
At this point requiring vaccination is just a covert way for companies to exclude any critical thinkers and potentially problematic, pesky employees who are apt to challenge the status quo.
My friend is hoping for an exception to get a job at Boston University -- they also still have a vaccine mandate in place. Seems crazy for a group of people who don't have to worry about covid, but colleges are some of the most insane places in the country!
"Besides, a Covid jab requirement is the most efficient way to make sure no one who isn’t woke doesn’t accidentally slip through." That's best line of the piece:
Alex, The Ethical Skeptic just released a graph which I believe shows over 12,000 excess deaths for 0-24 year olds from the beginning of the vaccine which is downright sad if true. Do you ever check his work, or do you have a rebuttal to his numbers? Just curious what you have seen.
Funny how Outward Bound claims to give young people the courage to "overcome challenging conditions" while remaining observably terrified of a 99.99% non-fatal virus.
I just hot back from Gelson's Market in LA. It was astonishing how many people were wearing masks. The public is clearly brainwashed. I was in a line with a young woman with a mask under her nose. I could not help myself and asked her if she felt covid was transmitted only orally. She said her madk was loose and pulled it over her nose. I just am befuddled.
Wow, always amazed to find people still think Covid19 is something to care about. Haven't had it. Hope not to get it, but I say that every year about colds and flu and some years I get them, some I don't. Doesn't change how I live my life.
My wife and I both got COVID the last week of July in SW Florida. The PA’s at the Urgent Care were ho hum about it and the receptionists weren’t wearing masks and didn’t care they we weren’t either. No one freaked out. After a week it passed; had worse flu cases in my life that’s for sure.
We all need a good laugh now and then. Thanks, Alex!!! Once I get done chuckling, then I feel sad. So many areas of life where people are just lost. Drugs, gender, Covid, etc., etc. Praying for the entire world (and myself as I am certainly lost soul #1, just in a different way).
In Madison Wisconsin this week enjoying the lakes boating with an old college friend. She took me to where she grocery shops at a market near the University of Wisc. I was AMAZED at how many people were masking. It's been a beautiful sunny week about 85 degrees and at least 30% of those shopping were in masks. One dude about 25 had a full face shield, and double masked. Its was both hilarious and fricken sad to see just what mental illness is now entrenched in so many minds. This is a city considered one of the most educated in the country too. I guess intelligence is quite relative. SURREAL!

Smacked in the chest? Isn't that what almost killed Damar Hamlin?
