My 75yo Mom was shunned by many of her friends. She has a life threatening allergy and was afraid to take the vaccine.
As the hysteria has died down, they've relented and have invited her back to bridge and book club. Sitting at the bridge table recently, they were talking about how no one was getting boosters and vaxx injuries. One of them looked at my Mom and said, "You were the smartest one of all of us. I wish I hadn't taken it." My mother said it was the closest she'd get to an apology and she was taking it.
I feel like I'm very lucky that I'm young enough to be able to tell those types of people to screw off. Who wants to be friends with people who would have turned in Anne Frank?
It would have been much more difficult if I were older and my social options were more limited.
Not admitting that they were wrong makes them look even more stupid, but they are so stupid that they do not even realize that. All evil people are stupid after all.
They were not “wrong”. They *knew* what they were doing: promoting a bioweapon as instructed by the leaders of The Empire; by whatever means necessary. I trust they were handsomely rewarded for their efforts.
We were persecuted and yet we are the ones who must try to understand why they did that, and to forgive them, despite them not caring about our experience of being forced to live as a pariah.
To Be in "The In Crowd" no matter what, seems to remain one of the greatest human desires. Sad for them, as they will never know the feeling of standing up for ones beliefs, truly being brave. The people who resisted and stayed true to themselves are on their correct path. Those others are lost.

Just reading Carl Jung's seminal work ( The Undiscovered Self) once again....I believe the first time was in my psychology classes way back in the 80's..recalling what I learned there probably helped save my life. Reading it again calms my soul, and reinforces the fact that I was behaving the only way I knew how, without losing myself. Every word is like a tonic for me. Worth a read in my opinion.....sending out huge gratitude to those who had the courage, and fortitude to withstand the incalculable madness these last three years. You all deserve it so much. It's still hard for me to process how some people behaved...truly cruel.

How many parents who shipped their kids off to school with their faces covered all day, from throat to eyeballs, even during recess, while they worked from home mask free, will both apologize to their children for making them live a lie for 2 years - and explain to them why they did that and use their mistake to educate and prevent their children from doing the same to their grandchildren?
I doubt many; even the parents who disliked the masks or those who have since figured it out

The COVID vaccines do not stop transmission. Even the public health authorities had to admit this. In fact a vaccine that is only partially effective just might promote transmission by allowing new milder cases to be more active in public.
I agree that it was not persuasive to me as an unvaccinated individual. However, it emboldened and reinforced my friends and family’s confidence in their righteousness which I had to endure. They can suck a bag of dicks. That video brought back some visceral memories.

They almost killed my mom in March 2020 with their stupid lockdowns. She was in an assisted care apartment and took away all her support and wouldn’t let family in to check on her. My sisters had to break her out and by they time they did she was severely dehydrated. They didn’t care if she died from neglect, but they didn’t want her to die of Covid. I’ve stopped believing anything the experts tell us.

I truly believe in forgiveness, but it requires some repentance and asking for forgiveness. Right now the arrogance of the left has not abated, despite the fact they were wrong on all of it: lockdowns, vaccines, vaccine mandates, school closures, masks, all of it.
Your reference to their god was also spot on correct. There is no doubt in mind that the abandonment of God collectively on the left with a need to replace it with something is a huge driver behind all of this.
This entire phenomenon is disturbing to me. Family derision was high, and division swift and cruel. No humility or acknowledgment of facts/data easily attainable now for months and longer. The latest is outrage over bodily autonomy with abortion and they don’t see the hypocrisy. I wonder how reasoning has fled and human resistance to being wrong is taken over by hubris and “move on”. Life often humbles, but in this case? Not so much. I wish no one harm, but doubt they’ll ever know the psychological devastation and sorrow they caused. It was/is immense.
