LOL, there isn't a single Republican in this country with the balls to put a Democrat dog catcher in the docket. And the Democrats know it. Which is why we are where we are today.

If Trump somehow overcomes all the obstacles in his path to the presidency and wins, he should nominate Sidney Powell for his AG. Now there is a woman who is quite capable of wreaking vengeance on all the miscreants who have had a free reign for the last 3+ years.

Expand full comment

Or John Eastman.

Expand full comment

Does the AG need to be an attorney still licensed? I don’t know and too lazy to look up at this moment - BUT, I like the idea of Eastman heading up the department after swearing an oath to support&defend USofA (something no Demonrat would know anything about) I think he bought’ a swear in public to unleash the hounds of hell on any Demonrat still fogging a mirror and some that can’t. I’d start with the immoral bitch from 2016, her Clinton charitable org that magically dried up in 2017, or there abouts. I’d go after the imbecile currently stinking up the WH, a place he never should’a seen the inside of other than on a tour; I’d do a federal, deep anal investigation of every attorney who put a January 6 protestor behind bars who did nothing more than walk thru a building they were invited in to, and those who weren’t even there; I’d investigate every state where charges were brought against President Trump and others associated with him (GA, CA, AZ, D.C., NY, I’d reserve an extra handful of hungry DAs to conduct a proctological exam they’ll still be talking about in 3025). But that would make this political! YER DAMN RIGHT, and if that’s the only thing that happens through 2029 - FINE. When the rest of the world sees President Trump cleaning house and taking no prisoners, they’ll think twice. Bankrupt each and every single one of these amoral piles of 💩 and if anyone contributes funds to their legal defense, give THEM a colonoscopy so deep and thorough you’ll be able to see how gutless they are when they try to open their mouths.

Harsh?, I think not. These treasonous cretins have been pulling this garbage for decades, with impunity —mahatma needs to end. NOW.

OK, I vented, don’t feel better, but I DID vent

I say RFK, Jr., but having both of them at DOJ would really be awesome.

Expand full comment

For my money, RFK,Jr. to head the FBI. Then we will finally learn what really happened to Bobby and Jack.

Expand full comment

I would rather see RFK in charge of the FDA.

Expand full comment

That would indeed be beautiful.

Expand full comment

Just suspend / defund the FDA for four years! Then we won't have any new drugs approved, we won't have FDA examiners miraculously get jobs at Eli Lilly after approving a new drug for Eli Lilly, drug companies won't need R&D, and taxpayers will save $8.4 billion dollars each year before the whole agency is redesigned and reinstituted four years later. And if you can outlaw those drug commercials like 99% of countries have, we'll all be much better off!

100% agree. Republicans in Washington DC are feckless cowards. Wringing their hands about what the NYT and NPR will think of them. Schumer tore up the Mayorkas indictment and rubbed it in the face of Jordan and Speaker Johnson. You would think the Speaker would respond by de-funding the US Senate - a power which resides with the Speaker. No, he just took his beating like the nerdy kid on the playground.

Expand full comment

Republicans should filibuster the Senate and try Mayorkas on C-SPAN around the clock for a two weeks.

Expand full comment

Agree! Much has to do though with the fact that the Republicans don't control the media. As much as we want to believe that corporate media is on the way out, it's not (yet). Despite the dwindling subscriber numbers, corporate media is still somehow running the show.

ah the burden of having some basic ethical standards.

Expand full comment

We can overcome that...LOL

Exactly. What happened to the Biden impeachment? Democrats in the House steamrolled 2 impeachments against Trump with no evidence of High Crimes and Misdemeanors. They used witnesses who gave hearsay testimony and flat out lied.

dont want to play their game - plus only they are good at it. Everyone else looks like fools (Actually they look like fools too but everyone pretends differently.)

Revenge could come in many different forms. Does not necessarily need to be "lawfare".

Moving whole departments to Alaska, for example.

That and wholesale elimination of others. Best revenge would be really draining the swamp. Not just talking about it.

They'd love Alaska, but you have the right idea. How about Kansas?

What do you have against Alaska? How about the US Virgin Islands? They might like it so well they'd stop f*cking up America. I remember when Bobby KKK Byrd built the FBI fingerprint center in WV. All things are possible now that Obiden has shown there no laws that can't be broken.

I mean no disrespect to Alaska...however, from the point of view of a career deep-state DC rat, they would hate it, or any other pro 2nd Amendment location.

OK, he shouldn't unleash federal law enforcement on his opponents, he should unleash Vivek or somebody else competent and fearless to shrink the federal bureaucracy by about 80%, especially the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security and Justice Department.

I disagree that war criminal Hillary shouldn't be prosecuted. Due to her orchestrating the Russia Gate scandal, which lasted for 3 years until it imploded, Trump wasn't able to repair relations with Russia, as he promised to do in the campaign. Now we're on the verge of WW3, and Hillary is a chief culprit. She blames Trump for not accepting defeat in 2020 but has done the same since her 2016 loss. Ugly in body, ugly in mind, ugly in soul - that's Hillary Clinton in a nutshell.

A friend was crew chief on Marine One during Clinton and Bush. The two people that treated him like s**t were Hillary and Dick Cheney.

Expand full comment

Secret Service was none too fond of her either, I recall reading. One of the best things to come from Trump's win in 2016 was keeping her out of the office of president. Former Secretary, Senator, First Lady, Mrs. Bill Clinton is all about wielding power. Recall how she stood up for Bill when the accusations about his sexual encounters started leaking out when he first ran for president. She calls those of us not in her thrall deplorables. I continue to find her and her behavior loathsome.

Expand full comment

Hillary called the accusations against her husband a right wing conspiracy. She tried to destroy every woman who had sexual encounters with Bill. There are still women today who think Hillary is a champion of women's rights.

Expand full comment

You are correct. It is astonishing that so many women see her favorably, especially in light of her behavior in working to discredit women who came forward after encounters with Mr. Clinton. Apparently they weren't around when Mrs. Clinton came on the scene. If they knew more do you think it would change their impression?

I had a former neighbor in her 50s who was a staunch Hillary supporter in 2016. Her 30 something daughter worked on Hillary's campaign in CT. The mother had to know about the Clinton women and how they were treated. She chose to ignore it.

As someone from flyover country, I feel like there are some US cities that should just be kicked out of the Union. And if not the Union, they should be their own states and stop holding the rest of us hostage to their corrupt idiocy.

Expand full comment

Amen to that. Bakinization is the answer.

Expand full comment

I believe this is starting to happen, although not quite as dramatically as is often envisioned. The US Constitution gives each state a lot of independence as to how to run its affairs, and the red states haven't been following the blue ones down the path of authoritarian socialism. As the gap between them grows, more and more folks are moving to red states due to lower taxes and less intrusive government. I can see the governments of blue states beginning to worry about their poor performance and unpopularity, even to the point of proposing so-called "exit taxes" on people who sell their homes to move to another state.

Expand full comment

Yes, except their solution to this potential crisis is to import and sustain a bunch of non-citizens, rely on the federal government to help pay for their upkeep, count them in the census population (a modern day 3/5 compromise) and let them vote so they keep their power.

One comment made at the end of your article is wrong Alex. 'And if Trump wins this fall, he will be in a position to unleash federal law enforcement on his opponents. He shouldn’t, of course.' Why the hell not? IF he were able to 'unleash' law enforcement, it would mean that he's finally started cleaning the damn swamp. These people need to start going to jail. HRC should be IN JAIL for her part in the abuses of the FISA court. You think she wasn't involved?

Now if you're saying 'his opponents' generically about future opponents, I might cut you some slack, but let's face it. Anything Trump does to start rectifying these wrongs will be classified as 'retribution' or something of the like. We cannot let these people just get fired or go away - the American people deserve to see that the greater the crime, the greater the penalty.

IMO, these rich elites should be punished and pursued until they are so broke that they don't have a damn $1 left to give to their kids. Just like they did to Gen. Flynn and anyone attached to J6. I hope they have to sleep under a bridge. They deserve nothing less.

First of all, the real point that the Times does not appear to want to acknowledge is that EVERY AMERICAN who has been paying attention to this now has a darkened opinion of the US justice system. It's not just Donald Trump. And rightly so.

And if Trump's team had labeled their INTERNAL records of the payments as "Hush money paid to cover up porking a porn star" would that have been OK? They're internal records. How could this possibly have made a difference to the election?

Trump normally makes deals with his enemies, but the swampers don't seem to be the sort to keep promises. It will be interesting to see what he does when he takes office.

This has never been about whether Donald Trump committed an election financing crime, but only about placing as many obstacles in front of Trump.with all the various charges against him throughout out east coast. It's much like a runner having to jump hurdles in a race while the other runners have a clear track.

What they don't realize is.that Trump has been jumping hurdles most.of.his life as a property developer and ever since he entered the election for.President in 2015. So he can jump hurdles and still run the race for President, whereas even though Bide has had his hurdles removed by corrupt DOJ, FBI and special counsel prosecutors he will still stumble and fall with the first hurdle he does encounter.

What this is all really about is that Trump pulled back the curtain on the swamp and revealed who the swamp dwellers really are. They don't want us all to know what they have been doing, but unfortunately for them, now we know. They can't really put that genie back in the bottle, although they are giving it a go.

Alex has become a legal expert. The rule of law is being impeded all over the country from Slavitt and Wray refusing to testify under congressional subpoenas, Hunter Biden avoiding due process of law, Biden ignoring the Supreme Court and forgiving federal loans, a major case in Orange County CA where the county board of commissioners refuses to acknowledge a judge's orders and intentionally impede due process, and so much more.
