Democracy dies in innuendo

In wordsmithing. Some of the news that’s fit to print.

Democracy dies in stupidity. And ignorance. And Fear.

Do these people even listen to their own thoughts before they write them down? How old are they, just out of high school? Because things like wars and poor economies never caused people to rally around elections 🤦‍♀️ Maybe these "journalists" should read a book or something.

I used to read books. Yes, like C.S. Lewis books. Hmmm I have good memories of that...

They know exactly what they're doing...trying to chill speech and participation in the democratic process. They can't win without cheating, so buckle up for domino PsyOps through next January.

Even the article above was the beginning of it. Armed?

San Francisco Democrat most of my life. De-listed about a year ago. My disappointment in the left has turned into seething bitterness. (Still consider my the real left -- privacy, autonomy, liberty, all that good stuff.). I’d love to see them get spanked here, but seems unlikely.

Expand full comment

I'm a former Democrat. To me there is just much more extremism on the left than the right. The media can spin it all they want but to me it's quite obvious. One day at the capital could never be worse than the everyday rioting and billion in damage we saw for several months last year. I'm not saying the right is perfect but I could never vote left again after covid

I’m a former Democrat, but the party moved away from me long ago.

By your definition, your real left is actually the right

Mistrust of authority, opposition to drug war (actually, favor legalization), bodily autonomy for women, 1st and 4th amendment absolutist, etc. -- traditionally left leaning views. If that's now right -wing, then as Russell Brand says, "I'm right-wing!" But I am about as right-wing as he is (and left). Thanks for the comment.

Expand full comment

The old labels no longer apply. I agree on the drug war, but wouldn't have five years ago. We agree more than disagree.

Yes, San Francisco is a scary place at the moment, and most people have no sense of their own culpability in enhancing division and polarization. It is amazing to me how little self-reflection vis-a-vis the political process there is among the "very liberal" (to use the description used by polling companies and NYT), it's really only the stupid other side's fault.

Expand full comment

I have been reading San Fransicko by Shellenberger in which he describes incredible amounts of self-censorship on the Left, when people know the actual causes of problems but can’t “say it out loud” — like most homelessness is rooted in drug addiction not the “cost of housing” narrative. And that SF heavily attracted addicts with its policies.

Interestingly there has been a bit of political aboutface since the book came out — nothing like losing a major conference booking in your city to serve as a wake up call.

Expand full comment

I will read it too, once I get it from the local library. It still says something about SF's relationship to the truth, that it is available from the public library here!

Your ideals are not “the real left” they are classic liberal ideals. If you just de-listed as you put it a year ago, you, you’re very late to the party. Democrat party has had you fooled. They have t believed in what you call “left” for most of my adult life in practice. They may have preached it, but they never practiced it. It’s always been smears against there enemies and lying to people to get them on board with there giant government nanny state agenda.

I’ll try but my vote is prolly going under much like yours 😑

Soon, in person voting will be labeled racist and violent in an attempt to expand mail in voting as a public safety measure.

Expand full comment

I live in Oregon. The only way to un-do mail-in voting once you have voted it in, is to surgically separate the Public Employee Unions from the Democrat party without killing the Democrat party. But they share a heart, so...

So you kill the Democrat party…🎊🎈🎉. It’s all good😉

The American people (Patriots) must never again allow vote by mail, except for shut ins and the military

Expand full comment

And mail-in ballots in those cases must be notarized.

Expand full comment

Shut ins and military will claim the inability to obtain notarization

Expand full comment

Of course they will, and never mind all the community groups that will happily provide rides to polling places and city offices (to notarize mail-in ballots).

There's always an excuse. No sense of personal responsibility--and always looking for a hand-out.

Expand full comment

Leftist states are all legalizing all these ballot harvesting measures and automatic mail in ballots, etc. nothing can be done about it in those places. States are responsible for elections and that’s how it needs to stay. Otherwise the feds will hijack them like they were trying too and nationalized election laws would be much more corrupt.

Expand full comment

The leftist states of New York and California contain enough voters to seriously skew a legitimate vote count

They are scared. Every day I am receiving hit pieces in my mail about Ron Johnson (a WI senator critical of covid mania). I think if I saved them all I could wallpaper my entire house with them.

I notice that Democrats running for office in Houston have enormous capacity for filling my mailbox with full color, heavy card stock advertisements — even daily close to Election Day. Obviously “outside money” is at work and it hacks me off.

So we start to see their plans. January 6 didn’t give them any advantage so they are going to double down and paint anyone but snowflakes and soy boys as armed right extremists. No matter that we are young and old, black, white and brown, gay and straight, rich and poor. If we don’t adhere to their rules and mandates we are too dangerous for civil society. Big news flash…we are the true Americans and we’re taking our country back. Anyone who feels threatened by that is free to move north. Trudeau’s Canada will be a better fit for you. Until the freedom loving Canadians take their country back. We don’t give a rats ass where you go then.

Can we just call them far-left please.

[The left is now waking up to the fact that lockdowns, school closures, and (to an extent still to be seen) vaccine mandates have spurred a backlash against government overreach at every level. They can read the polls. And they are scared of what November will bring.]

They have NOOOOOOO idea how far and deep and wide the brewing backlash is.

But until we have more than two parties to choose from, we will see no meaningful progress.

November???? How about Nuremberg.

Alas…I wonder if anyone would have the courage to openly conduct an anti-pandemic-mandate campaign?

Expand full comment

Probably not, only because IF the reported numbers are accurate, there aren't that many who've resisted the coercion campaign to vax anything that moves.

BTW, when will pets be approved for the shot?

Is that FDA / CDC, or some other regulatory body?

And WHAT is taking them so long?

Yes, right-wingers DO give to charity. If you say the government needs to get smaller and spend less, of course, you help organizations that aid the needy. If you're prolife, of course, you support charities that help women going through an unplanned pregnancy and single mothers.

Not surprising after the WaPo cartoon called the truckers fascists. And of course the narrative about BLM was "mostly peaceful." This publication must think Americans are idiots to believe this trash.

Pretty soon it will be #UnAmerican to organize to #VOTE‼️

Expand full comment

Pretty soon it will be extremism to think you have a right to vote.

Expand full comment

Unless it’s for democrats, then it’s necessary. They want everyone automatically registered to vote, they want no ID, they want ballot harvesting and automatic mail in ballots. They want voting to last for months. They want 15 year olds to vote, they want illegals to vote. Every measure they support actually kills any semblance of democracy, and opens door for massive fraud. But it’s the “right wingers” that need to be stopped or the republic will fall. They are in 3 words A Fucking Joke, and nothing they print should be taken seriously.

The great American swing vote is suburban women. This is signaling to shape the swing vote in the political middle: Voting for Republicans is a terrifying and dangerous act of EXTREMISM!!!!

Pure narrative preparation, conscious and deliberate. It's not meant to describe something, it's meant to create something. "Journalism."

Do you think that mothers and grandmothers are going to forget what’s been done to their children?

Expand full comment

I don't think anyone is going to forget. I think it's a failed tactic, but still a tactic.

Expand full comment

I agree. But the Post must think we’re stupid. Who can forget open borders, loss of jobs, small business closures, crazy gas prices, closed schools, shortages of food and other essentials? And being told to buy an electric car and learn to code is not making anyone’s life better. Being told that what we’re experiencing is not true doesn’t make us think the democrats represent us. I believe that tactic will fail miserably but they’ll float plenty of trial balloons between now and November. We’ll be called everything but a child of God. Nobody cares what they think anymore. They’ve proven themselves spectacularly incompetent.

Absolutely 100% agree with every word of this. They've become really tedious. I don't see what the offramp is for them, but they're headed for a complete implosion.

Now that you mention it, yes, they do think we're stupid.
