This is why I love Alex. I know he doesn't like Trump, but Alex is still unbiased in his assessment of this vendetta against Trump. Alex also disagrees that ivermectin is effective even though he knows many of his subscribers won't agree. Berenson is going to report what he believes is right regardless.

Expand full comment

Ya know I hadn’t thought of that but it’s not a bad perspective. Berenson gonna Berenson?

That's pretty much the truth, isn't it? I'm not looking for an echo chamber. Ultimately, I appreciate what Alex Berenson does which is why I continue to read and subscribe.

Vee - you're exactly right. Providing unbiased assessments even when (or, more accurately: /especially/ when) you're not fond of another person or thing builds trust. Echo chambers erode trust.

This whole thing stinks.

The government is only authorized to investigate people if there is a reasonable suspicion that a crime is afoot. More than this, to start looking at someone's records, etc., the government must have probable cause.

Trump, love him or hate him, has been the object of so much illegal government harassment and abuse that it has become normalized in the public conscience. It remains, however, illegal conduct. Conduct totalitarian governments are guilty of.

Love him and will vote for him in 2024 if he runs.

I’m afraid to suggest it’ll all be way too late in 2024.

Then there will be a true revolution in this country - by We The People. Because the current government idiots made one very foolish mistake: they didn't take our guns first. And there are MILLIONS of American patriots who believe our nation, freedoms and future are worth fighting and dying for. I'll most certainly do it for my children and grandchildren. But for now I pray for Divine intervention.

I am pro 2A but this is bluster and I am sick of it. How many gun owners showed up at anti lockdown protests? Anti masks for kids? Anti vax mandates? In fact , how many Americans did anything to resist any of Covid 1984? 30k at RFKs rally in January and and a few hundred more over 2 years. Americans have accepted Big Brother. I agree that the system is too corrupt at the ballot box. I watched a segment on Tucker Carlson in which he spoke to an govt investigator from Wisconsin shedding light on Mark Zuckerberg's direct involvement and financial support in voting in Wisconsin. I think the shock that Trump won in 2016 put in motion systems by these people (social media, democratic machine, mainstream media, etc.) to guarantee no one other than who they want to win will win again.

Yes, I’m sorry to have only realised recently that provision of free services on smartphones have entirely captured most of us (me included). Imagine a single 24h period without one.

The outcome is to separate individuals even from their family members & instead to give most of their attention to that little glowing rectangle,

As Matias Desmet observed, lack of connections to others is a key step in making “mass formation” much easier.

Pump in enough scary news & people are raised to have free floating anxiety. I did notice the BS of modern life, which I think among other things is expressly designed to produce the “WTH?” response in us & drive out “sense making” from our lives.

Then throw in the “dead cat” of a virus & many are immediately captured.

This couldn’t have been done even ten years ago. The underlying techniques are as old as Edward Bernays, but awaited the technology to make it real on a global scale.

Asked how people could be drawn back out of the mass, Desmet wasn’t optimistic. Only slowly, by observing others living normally & bad things not happening. He told me he expected it would run to its self destructive conclusion. Very disturbing.

The GOP to their credit are not turning this into a witch hunt or circus like the Democrats did with all that insufferable acting from the likes of that cackling lunatic Kamala. Despite this, you'd think the left would appreciate this but nope. They were angry at the line of questioning. How dare Blackburn ask about anything! I'm also getting mighty tired and pissed at the left pretending Critical Race Theory isn't a thing. That to ask about it makes you a 'conspiracy theorist'. Jackson's non-answers about that only made me think she's a student of CRT.

As an aside. thanks to people like Jimmy Dore, I realize the left itself is split along rational and irrational lines. There is now a progressive liberal like Dore and progressive Marxists - like these characters on Progress radio - divide it would appear.

However nothing was done about it, and so Joe continues to lie about every issues including now putting up fake pictures of him leaving for Poland. Media doesn’t care. Both parties do not care how many times Biden lies to us. All that mattered was getting rid of Trump, and as Jane Fonda said we can thank Covid. So getting rid of Trump ushered in more trans crazies, pedos increased, much more crime, war, economic ruin, supply shortages, gas prices exploding, higher mortgage rates, heck higher everything, and consumer sentiment very negative. Trump has to be the cleanest major figure in American history. If he so much as had a traffic ticket fixed the media would have found it. By the way, there is some question as to whether Hillary broke the law. She did. So did Hunter. So did Joe... The ruling class sold us all to the highest bidder, and we sat on our hands and let them get away with it. They got filthy stinking rich and we got seriously f*ucked. But we let it happen. It's happening still. The government at every level, from school board to the Presidency is corrupt. It's a fact, and we know it.

The thing that those targeting Trump (or cheering it on) don't seem to understand is that Trump never did his own taxes. He never filled out those loan applications or valuation estimates himself. He has professionals who do all that paperwork. Could professional accountants make errors? Sure. But an honest error isn't criminal. And it sure doesn't implicate Trump.

When an honest accounting error is made, the remedy is to refile and fix the error. It is not to charge someone with committing a crime. Trump Derangement Syndrome seems to be a very very dangerous mental disease that robs people of basic common sense.

But the game here has always been about smearing Trump in the media.

TDS - Trump Derangement Syndrome is real. I have lost a good friend over 3 issues in combination. His vehement hate for Trump, My failure to join the Covid cult and his fear of climate change. I am not a Trump or Biden fan but instead want to discuss policy, not personality. My friend stated he cannot live in a place where people wear MAGA hats. That bad. Anyway, sounds like this clown caught the same bug. Pray, plan, prepare and RESIST.

I lost friends similarly. Sucks.

I saw this earlier and I thought if Pomerantz believes Trump is so guilty then why is Pomerantz resigning? TDS has made some people very rich.

Trump is guilty for not being uniparty, actually creating policy for the country he serves and calling out the FAKE NEWS.

After a year of "Safe and Effective" it is enough to make me wonder if Orange Man really was all that bad.

DA Alvin Bragg is against cash bail, so criminals are released quickly, which is contributing to NY City's rising crime rate. It is not the case that Mr. Bragg is showing discretion in deciding which cases to prosecute - he is not prosecuting many of them. Need a thoughtful DA who makes decisions on the merits - too much to ask in today's polarized world?

But even DA Braggs, who I would be loathe to defend in any other situation, saw as soon as he came into office that this was a BS case, as Trump would say, a Witch Hunt/Hoax, so I have to give him some credit for this one. Now if he’ll

Just focus on indicting the criminals and not letting the repeat offenders roam the streets I might become his biggest fan lol.

For all of you who want to believe in the justice system, doesn't this just depress you. A political hack conducting investigations. Pomerantz is such a puke. These bastards have corrupted everything, both science, justice and whatever ever else serves their diabolical purposes.

What kind of prosecutor investigates a subject for years, then declines to prosecute him,and then maligns said subject as he walks out the door?Oh wait,I know what kind: a democrat prosecutor. An unethical prosecutor.A corrupt, morally bankrupt prosecutor.

And, one more thing, Republicans should be giving this nominee a hearing as nasty as the Dems gave kavanaugh! I don't care if she's a woman and I don't care that she's black. If we can't criticize women and we can't criticize blacks, we are screwed.

If it were me, the only thing I would say to Ketanji Jackson is that if she degrades the SCOTUS by issuing politically motivated opinions then she can look forward to the American people ignoring those rulings. The SCOTUS has zero enforcement power. So if the SCOTUS loses their veneer of authority then nothing they do will matter in the least.

That NY City Federal Court that investigated Trump is well known around the country as being politically-motivated. Many cases it pursues are based on politics. It is one step away from the Soviet-era Lubyanka court system that fed dissidents to the Gulag.

Most courts use evidence of a crime before prosecution. The NY Lubyanka prosecutes in order to find evidence.

Kudos to Alvin Bragg for attempting to re-establish some sense of decency in the NY Federal Courts. It's one step closer to Americans trusting their institutions again.

Some posts are pay subscribe and some not. Biden and other stresses and outlays ate taking all my cash so I’m sincerely pretty poor. Can’t. Not joking. But THIS is Alex’s livelihood. This and his book money. I’ll defend his need to have subscriber only posts. He has a right to make a buck and while I disagree with him fairly often I like a guy who grates on me. Makes me think more. Thanks Alex.

Not sure what you mean since we were not discussing ivermectin? You mean you disagree with me or Alex on it?BTW your answer won’t convince me if it’s me you disagree with. Take it up with dr Tess Lawrie. If you can debate she or Kory I might listen to the Ivermectin detractors. Otherwise it only has one black mark in my books. It was also tested on fetal tissue according to what I understand. Otherwise it holds up in almost every study. And where it doesn’t there are confounding factors. The recent study that supposedly showed it wasn’t had three primary problems already addressed by several of us. The study Andrew Hill was involved in some time ago? He all but admitted ON TAPE with Tess Lawrie that he and his colleagues took $40 million in research grants from Pharma to quash ivermectin.

Trump almost got away with the longest streak of financial fraud ever, until he made the mistake of becoming president and pissing off the wrong people. According to the NYT. Now that's justice!

Or maybe this is just Ukrainian style government, where prosecutors look for something, ANYTHING, to use against deposed chief executives.
