Concerned that many colleges are now mandating the new booster. Will this ever end? It was never tested on humans.

Admissions office at a college in northeast requires prospective students to be fully vaccinated in order to tour the school. Yet, no vaccine required for public to attend their sporting events.

It is actually quite rational from the point of view of the college administrators. They get millions in research funds from the NIH and other federal government sources. It is all about the moola. I totally agree. But try convincing Liberals not to send their kids to public schools and Liberal Universities. I went into university as a Conservative and came out a Conservative. But it was a constant battle. I had to fake my way through. I worked hard, read my textbooks, attended all my classes, consulted with professors when I didn't understand. But when I gave them what I thought was the right answer, they weren't happy of I didn't regurgitate everything they wanted. When I challenged them about it they got upset with me. So I basically just regurgitated and got strait "A"s. I had to teach myself and I learned alot more than I thought I would. I learned how to recognize that Liberal sickness for what it was and I still got out of there with what I wanted. Most of the students were just like them. It's hard for Conservative minded students to get a university education without being attacked for having Conservative views. They freak right out if you say something they don't like LOL. They take it personally. They don't understand what it means to have an exchange of ideas. Conservative students have to be smarter and stronger to survive years in an environment like that and still be successful. Yet we learned more. There's no escaping them. They control everything. Just be smarter, play their little games. Get what you need and move on.

Yes....it is sad. Every institution that has been politicized is on government welfare of some degree. Same goes with public education. But at least with public education....at least in Texas...the parent has some control over what their children are being taught if they care. The other huge problem today is most parents do not care. There are very few colleges were students are actually taught to be critical thinkers. But they do exist. Proud of you for playing the game, educating yourself more or less and coming out of college with your conservative ideals still intact. Obviously your parents or someone taught you to be a critical thinker early on. What I find complexing and incomprehensible is that almost every liberal idea fails ....consider the current financial mess this country is in....but they never admit defeat, always blame something or someone else and proceed to jump into the next frying pan and wait for it to get too hot to remain. I am not college educated.....but my parents taught me the meaning of hard work and self respect. I did the same when raising my two sons. One went to college and graduated...one did not. They are both successful, respected and overall happy human beings. Even the college graduate LOL.

On March 23rd, 2020 (a week after everyone was sent home) the president of a very large, very well-known Midwestern research university sent an email address to the school community about the Covid situation. He mentioned that with the aide of vaccines, the community would hopefully be able to reunite in person. Look back to the date that I mentioned.

This university, a state school, sent emails to faculty in the 2020/2021 year that Moderna was seeking people for vaccine trials and to share information with students. During summer break of 2021, the school announced a vaccine mandate for all students, staff, and faculty. Many people applied for medical exemptions and were denied. Students filed suit and the university began allowing religious exemptions without question. The suit was fought by the university’s lawyers using the old Jacobsen v. Massachusetts ruling and the school won. Due to the state’s basic vaccine passport prohibition, the university basically backed down and did not require people upload their shot and lot numbers. But they were offering raffles and perks to anyone who did.

This school received $50 million in NIH funding for the 20/21 school year. They received $200 million for the 21/22 year, the first with mandates.

The theory of relativity never became the law of relativity. But plenty of theories of conspiracy have become laws since 2020. Follow the money.

I was speaking to my 14 year old about college. He's quite book smart. We spoke about the elite university names but in the back of my head, I was wondering if these institutions would ever let up on their insanity. Fordham University is going so far as requiring anyone over 6 months of age to not only be fully vaccinated but also be boosted if they want to visit the campus. Of course you can go to just about anywhere else in Manhattan and not be vaccinated at all. Which begs the question as to why institutions of supposed intellectual capital would stick to rules that aren't based in science or empirical data. They're implementing these rules not because they work but because they can be. Which begs the bigger question: why should I waste my money on sending my children to these places? Is college really worth it? I suspect for most people the answer is no. And by the way, many of the non-elite colleges, particularly those in Florida, do not have vax requirements. Further, while I question if college is worth it, elite colleges are really not all that great of a deal. I know plenty of people who are successful that either didn't go to college or went to no-name colleges.

Expand full comment

Whether your son needs to go to college, I would suggest that it depends on what he want to do with his life. Engineering, science (REAL science), I would say yes, he needs the sheepskin. If he wants to pursue something like computer science, look into a community college. (In a past life, I had several graphic artists who worked for me. They were well trained.)

Some large financial/investment companies are starting to hire entry-level low-paying internships. These help the intern to decide if this is a career to pursue; it allows the company to identify workers who can be cultivated into higher-level positions.

This is important: If he doesn't know what he wants to do, DO NOT go to college. Consider a trade school. He'd make a good living as an electrician or plumber or HVAC tech. These are high-demand jobs.

Remember that there's no law or requirement to go to college right after high school. Waiting a couple years can be an excellent decision.

Expand full comment

I agree. Sometimes, you do need the sheepskin. In those cases where a STEM degree is necessary, the real question with respect to the vaxx and college is: Does anyone need to go to an elite college or can they go to University of Florida or Florida State and do just as well in life? I think the answer to that question is yes. My wife went to a city college of no particular name and I went to undergrad and grad school at two elite schools. My wife is one of the most successful people I know and frankly, I haven't done much with my life. That's not the fault of my alma maters but the point is, you don't have to allow your kids (or yourself) to get injected with this mRNA poison in order to get ahead in life and get a necessary college degree. There are plenty of decent schools that don't require the vax and there are plenty of people that do just fine with attendance at state universities or no university at all. Here's another glimmer of hope:

"requiring anyone over 6 months of age to not only be fully vaccinated but also be boosted if they want to visit the campus"

In the case of such institutions I think it is also an extension of proving their "holier than thou" bona fides. If being morally superior meant wearing a purple dot on your forehead, Fordham would require that too.

Is college worth it? Mostly not. Certainly not private liberal arts schools like Fordham. Even a STEM school like Georgia Tech is quite woke. The mindfield for parents of college bound kids to navigate is: how to get the credential while minimizing the indoctrination.

Expand full comment

It is a minefield. Getting away from woke nonsense is perhaps impossible; although, I've heard good things about Hillsdale College being specifically conservative. I would like to think that Christian Universities are also conservative. Perhaps West Point and Annapolis are safe too but the left seems good at infiltrating and ruining everything it touches and universities are particularly vulnerable. The thing I worry about is that my son will get into an elite university and we'll have to send him to a state school simply because of a vax mandate at say, Penn or MIT. That would perhaps be unfortunate but if you consider that these elite schools are doing something so moronic as to require a vax that doesn't work, has deleterious effects, and if it did work (it doesn't) it would serve to protect their students, who are young and healthy, against a virus that is of infinitesimally small risk to the vast majority of society. Why should I pay $50K+/yr on tuition and put up with that level of idiocy? Answer: I shouldn't.

Expand full comment

No, you really should not!! Our universities are not mandating the shots! Send him anywhere that isn’t! Money talks both ways! We must not support what is obviously wrong. He’ll learn a new language too if he studies in Switzerland 🇨🇭!

I agree. When the NYC restaurants were checking vax status, I wouldn't eat at a restaurant that checked it. I also shopped at places that didn't ask you to wear a mask and stopped shopping at places that did. I didn't take an airline flight for as long as they required masks. I won't visit a country that checks vax status or requires a covid negative test. I vote with my wallet.

Expand full comment

As to why. They are training children to be "obedient" to progressive authority. The only science involved is "political" science.

Expand full comment

That's right. They are pushing political ideology more than scientific thought. They care more about transgender rights, environmentalism, and left-wing political activism than they do about science, math, technology, and engineering. Because if they did actually care about looking at the data and minding the science, they'd know that the harmful vax doesn't work, social distancing is a scam, and masks are useless. Wokeness is just a groupthink cult and it needs no logical explanation or use of rational thought to attempt to comprehend it.

Expand full comment

Why do they care more about those things? Because it tears the fabric of our culture and our nation apart. They (the minds behind the useful idiots on Campus) seek to replace The United States and our families with a secular, totalitarian, Marxist state. They've done an incredible job thus far in hijacking western culture. I believe they are making one gigantic mistake however that will ultimately cause them to fail. No successful revolutions have made this error. They are attacking the nation (U.S.) they seek to transform. It's an anti nationalist movement. They trash America. All other socialist revolutions harnessed deep feelings for their nation. China, Russia, North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba etc. We love our country and will eventually save it from these ghouls.
