It's a gorgeous day here in Arlington with the sun shining and a nice breeze. I had to drop something off at our local UPS store where a number of patrons as well as employees were masked up. Truly a surreal scene. One would have thought a plague was descending upon us necessitating extreme, albeit futile measures. No doubt we have here strong candidates for the booster shots. I was glad to get out of there lest the evident insanity were contagious.

5: Are these "boosters" (that word scares me) covered under the original Emergency Use Authorization?
5a: If so, why? On May 11, 2023, something in the basement of the White House declared that the emergency was over.

Injecting yourself with pharmaceuticals to protect grandma was probably the best pharmaceutical marketing gimmick of all time.
The masks are excellent at identifying those too stupid to be interacted with. I suggest that those that take the vax get something similar that they can wear so we can identify them quickly and avoid any interactions.
It's pretty astounding that the CDC is pushing to new jabs, conducting themselves as if all the previous ones were a huge success and none of us knows anything of the adverse effects and overall failure of their previous efforts. That Dr. Cohen claims she and her family plan to get jabbed tells me everything I need to know about HER. A lot of fools will roll up their sleeves once again, yet I do know a lot of thrice jabbed who absolutely will not do it again.
Somebody ought to tell the good doctor that talk is cheap. Roll up your sleeves on camera, let us watch you get jabbed, and let a skeptic test the vial afterwards. Let's line up the politicians, celebrities, everyone who has pushed the jabs in the past.

It's a gorgeous day here in Arlington with the sun shining and a nice breeze. I had to drop something off at our local UPS store where a number of patrons as well as employees were masked up. Truly a surreal scene. One would have thought a plague was descending upon us necessitating extreme, albeit futile measures. No doubt we have here strong candidates for the booster shots. The lunatics among us are ready to jump off the COVID cliff like the lemmings they are proving that there is no cure for stupid. I was glad to get out of there lest the evident insanity were contagious.
Sadly, I pray for the nerve to walk up to masked people in public places and say, "You know what? It really isn't safe out here! Good thing you're masked! Who knows what you might contract? You should probably stay home." If they want to project fear and think a stupid mask is going to save them then I'm all in to playing to that fear. (But the God fearing side of me says that isn't nice, so I bite my tongue.)
Unfortunately, to use the self deprecating Japanese euphemism, my miserable superstition is Judaism and therefore I am prevented from saying such well deserved things to these hapless characters especially with the High Holy Days nearly upon us. But I think such things and like Hamlet to his mother Gertrude, I silently speak daggers to them but use none.

Oh you jest. I linked Cochrane Medical study on social media and was deemed an "anti-masker," and that I failed to "digest" the study. People only see what they want to see.
Always amazed that none of the maskers ever cites the Bangladeshi study that did show a slight risk reduction with masks. Could it be because the authors clearly and unequivocally state in the opening paragraph that ther is NO evidence until their study that masks made a difference?
Years ago, the Catholic Church tried to come up with an explanation as to why Jews have largely been resistant to converting to Catholicism. They came up with the doctrine of "invincible ignorance" to suggest that their ratiocinative powers and freedom of the will had been so overwhelmed that they were just congenitally incapable of 'seeing the light.' Well, the stooges who persist in pursuing the COVID god that failed looks to me like a palpable modern analog to the theory the Church had dreamed up.

Medical establishment: a randomized, double blind placebo controlled trial is the gold standard for evidence based medicine.
Also medical establishment: we'd like to encourage everyone to take another vaccine! This one was tested on four rats.
1: The CDC is pushing for another round of injections this fall.
2: The injections are similar in design to the first round of killer-jabs.
3: The only evidence the CDC has that they are "safe and effective" are 20 mice and Mandy.
4: If they are ready to "roll them out" over the next couple of months, that means they have already made them. Hundreds of millions - maybe billions - of them.
4a: Smart companies do not make a lot of new and expensive things unless they know their things will sell.
4b: Smart companies do make a lot of new and expensive things when they know that their things are already bought and paid-for by the US government using US taxpayer's money.
5: Are these "boosters" (that word scares me) covered under the original Emergency Use Authorization?
5a: If so, why? On May 11, 2023, something in the basement of the White House declared that the emergency was over.
5b: If not, then the magicians who make these potions cannot claim civil immunity under an EUA because an emergency no longer exists. The thing in the basement said so.
6: Anyone who accepts one of these "new-and-improved" injections should be instantly nominated for a Darwin Award.

Among the worst outcomes of this ongoing fiasco, is the squandering of trust and confidence I once had in our public health bureaucracy. There was a time in my life when I believed what my government told me. Those days are long gone. My GP now refuses to even discuss Covid jabs. If you ask him, as I did, he simply won't talk about them. Covid boosters are literally not open for discussion. Where does this leave us?
I am a retired pediatric pulmonologist. I read substack in depth. Most commentators are sadly over the top. Alex frequently violates common sense and check out my comment today. I agree that the total loss of respect for the entire medical profession is a terrible complication of the entire pandemic, some of it earned and some collateral damage. Shame on your GP for refusing to counsel his patients. If he/she does not want to engage in prolonged and friutless conversations. however, he/she could post his perspectives on the internet to allow his patients to know his/her opinions or advice. In addition, I think that the silence of >95% of physicians on Tony Fauci et al is scandalous and implied passive agreement. That is not acceptable considering the mounting evidence of dishonesty and willful ignorance on his part.

As a Jew who did not believe in Jesus, I prayed before going to bed to G-d and G-d of our father Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that if Jesus truly was the Messiah to prove it to me. One night, an audible voice saying "prepare yourself for something great and wonderous is about to happen" woke me up, then Jesus came through my bedroom window bedroom and stood there with his arms outstretched, so I got my proof!

Don't you wonder and don't you think people want to know what "should" means in your sentence "Vaccine specialists say the updated shots should protect against strains now circulating."
What trials were conducted? What evidence is there that the booster will actually lower the chance of hospitalization and death in someone who has already been vaccinated and has had COVID?
Don't you think that your readers would want to know that Dr Paul Offit, a member of the FDAs COVID vaccine advisory panel says in Science, that he, aged 72, will not get the fall booster.
Your "article" is a great press release but lousy reporting.
