Trumps team is so far head of the Deep State, Ds and MSM.

They will pass a reconciliation package putting it squarely in the hands of Congress, thereby circumventing the lower courts and not having to wait on a SCOTUS ruling. In this way they avoid the courts, delays and loss of momentum because reconciliation only takes 50 + 1 to pass and doesn't allow for filibusters. It side steps any thorny legal issues, they can cut off programs/expenditures/institutions without any legal problems because Congress has the power of the purse. They can also "add" what they want to fund.

DOGE is important but it's also a head fake to make the Ds reveal their strategy - a scouting mission of sorts. The data, leaks, and their timing are a set up for this strategy. The D's brought a knife to a gun fight...and they are still unaware of it.

It also takes away the Lefts eventual claim that SCOTUS is illegitimate. Because make no mistake that's what all this about so they can scream retribution.....HITLER 4 more years.

This is a special kind of stupid. And WE are on offense for the first time in 2 generations.

They fell for it because they can't see past red

Yes, this needs to be done via legislation not exec orders... otherwise, it will be challenged, ignored and eventually overturned with another exec order or a partisan judge...

Expand full comment

Its glorious.

the map is not the territory. they have the wrong map for the territory....because they haven't taken a 30k view of the territory. they can only see what's directly in front of them.

budget reconciliation makes it virtually impossible for the courts to intercede. the left thinks they have him in a box canyon surrounded by multiple legal cases....instead they've boxed themselves into having to defend spouting about a "constitutional crisis" (which will be completely refuted by the process and rendered mute).

their whole argument was that he was going around congress, that's been taken away, and now they are left between a rock and a hard stone; on one hand they'll have to defend democracy by saying the administrative state has authority over the Executive and Congressional branches AND that attacking transparency/accountability is somehow democracy - thereby leaving them with only one option:

defend corruption, waste and grift

good luck dumbasses......

they're making it more difficult for themselves every day. they're cooked

Ryan, I'm waiting for the first federal judge to block the reconciliation process as unconstitutional or some such silliness.

The Democrats taking the legal route is a gamble. They are trying to bog Trump down. However, when the court (probably SCOTUS) rules in Trump’s favor, they end up taking off the guardrails.

The phrase "people don't change" is generally true, but I don't think that Donald Trump is the same person he was 8 years ago or even a year ago. Yes, he's arrogant and a narcissist but he also is a man who respects success. I think he respects Elon Musk and that's why the digs from the left and media about "President Musk" don't bother him. Trump KNOWS he's the president, he knows he won, he knows he has a mandate, and that he defeated the people set out to defeat him -- and, for some, literally kill him. Trump has been successful because he brings in people who know more than he does about this or that and puts them to work to make him look good. A true leader surrounds himself with good people who enact his vision. I hope the bromance continues, because it's been fun.

Expand full comment

I have already decided that we are lucky Trump didn't have 2 consecutive terms. He wouldn't have been this good in 2020. People needed to see full on the nonsense of Biden/Harris admin, plus we gained a cabinet that nobody would have envisioned 2020.

Expand full comment

It's like he spent the last four years figuring out exactly what to do and who to bring on to get it done. Then doing it.

Expand full comment

I mostly agree with your assessment but disagree that Donald Trump is not into the details. He single handedly pressured Boeing to lower the price on Air Force 1 replacements to below 4 billion, saving 1.7B. He has consistently shown an ability to answer questions in great detail, knowing far more of the details than his predecessor. Additionally, although not reported on much, accounts by personnel around him show he is very much aware of what they have going on. IE: according to Kayleigh McEnany, his former Press Secretary, he was the first person to call her after she had a preventative double mastectomy. The genius of Trump is that he's enough into the details to call BS when challenged, but is also very good at delegating and demanding success.

Expand full comment

Exactly. I also see Trump as a multi-tasker of the first magnitude. He's always keeping an eye on everything but he isn't one to insist on doing everything himself or micromanaging everything. His gift is in finding super smart, capable people he knows and trusts to keep a close eye on the details.

President Donald J Trump is wildly exceeding my expectations. Every day of his second term has been like Christmas Day for the American people. Elon Musk and his DOGE techies are doing days what we have elected every congressman and Senator to do for the past 60 years. Trump is brash, loud and self-aggrandizing, that said; he is exactly what this country needs right now. $Trillions needs to be cut from the budget if there is any hope for an American economic future. All kudos and thanks to Elon Musk and Donald Trump. This is just the economic side, equal or even greater advances are being made on the border, deportations, foreign policy and extinguishing the use of lawfare. I've always wondered why no one (including Republicans) ever seemed to ask that question. It costs a lot to live in D.C. A $200K salary could easily get used up living there. I frequently look up the net worth of various government people I see and hear and it's always shocking to see how many millions most of them have. I ask how that came to be, but apparently a lot of people aren't all that interested in asking that question. Many are already rich, but a great many more enter Congress relatively poor and leave (if they ever leave) as multi-millionaires living large. Disgusting.

This has become a huge constitutional issue.
