Just went down the rabbit hole over at your Stack! Basically I think you have a good argument which is why we have to look outside the US/UK axis to take the lead. As I noted on the thread, I do think the the insurance co may be the weak link. Because of both shareholders (fiduciary investigation of losses) and policyholders in revolt. If the industry starts to collapse they’d have to explain why they need a govt bailout (one scenario).
My fav fantasy is to have a brilliant high profile plaintiff’s atty wage a massive class action against the govt. (I have someone in mind!)
