I don't think Trump is doing this in a stupid way. it shouldn't come as a surprise if we get the data on how much he financially benefits for pushing this along... plus he has been shilling for these vaccines as he thinks he should get credit for it

The most important question is not if the vaccines "worked".. but were they truly needed in the first place.? I am in India, got my second vaccine dose less than 5 months back and suffered this week through 5 days of cold, severe throat infection and horrible spasms of coughing.

I didn't bother to get tested for Covid, but self medicated with my usual anti biotic/ cold medicine that i used for years before 2019 and i have recovered 80%.

Over the last 2 years i have come to see the harsh and ugly truth about the Medical establishment worldwide....and who is driving them..

The paranoia of this so called pandemic was an intentional act of war created by the US medical establishment with every other country in the world corruptly falling for it.

These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence."

Givemeliberty's avatar

Historically speaking, that is true.

Literally no government in the history of governments (which roughly 10,000-12,000 years of governments) has EVER voluntarily contracted its own power. Ever.

There are peaceful means of people contracting or removing their government, but an overwhelming majority of people have to want it. And that is absolutely not the case in the US. Americans largely love their big powerful government. They routinely lower their head for the leash. They defend their own party’s crooked politicians. And they’re quite happy to see the government initiate force against other humans if it’s their political adversary.

The government is a reflection of the people. A reflection of the state of morality of the people. It’s actually quite telling.

But what happens is these parties are able to convince roughly 50% of the people or more to go to bat for them for nefarious objectives.

In 2001 the entire conservative base went along with and defended (just to name a few):

The creation of DHS which is the body today saying free speech is terrorism.

The passing of the patriot act, the single most civil liberty destructive legislation ever. “Conservatives” all were on board.

Unnecessary - and started on completely contrived and false pretenses Iraq war - prosecuted for twenty years with virtually no opposition from Conservatives even after it was clear WMD was a lie, Iraq posed no threat, and Iraq was not in cahoots with Bin Laden or Al Queda.

Persistent and long term Torture if *suspected* terrorists, some of which was so inhumane as to make medieval torture look mild by comparison.

Drone killings of *suspected* terrorists including innocents killed as collateral damage.

Permanent violation of the 4th amendment at airports

FISA courts (creates by GOP) who are accountable to no one and operated in secrecy.

So yeah, I have ZERO confidence in “conservatives” to be impervious to the SAME INDOCTRINATION methods that was defended by the left with Covid.

Only libertarians have *consistently* opposed this government when it abused power.

People just have too hard a time admitting “holy crap, they brainwashed me into going along with some very evil stuff”.

The only wrinkle is they will choose to potentially use another scam. In other words, they will use whatever works. But I am expecting some other issue to dominate the headlines and induce fear. Just like they used BLM in 2020 right when “Covid deaths” were dropping precipitously. Could be war, they will come up with something.

The analogy I use is log rolling. Ever seen log rolling competition in the northwest? If your nee to it you don’t stand a chance. Seems Canada is one step ahead now in terms of explicit self defense. Probably because Trudeau has been pathological in his continued tyrannical prosecution of this transformation into authoritarianism. He’s a true believer in this Great Reset nonsense.

Looking at it from a game theory perspective, if the truckers simply hold their ground and do not acquiesce, they will probably win. Trudeau will in fact look at this way (like a chess board), he obviously couldn’t care less about the Canadian people. He has no winning hand if the truckers hold their ground. No matter what course he follows at this point he loses, just depends on by what degree. If he uses physical force against Canadians he loses, he will lose the majority of people (as in literally more than 50%). At this point his next course is totally predictable as the chess board goes: attempt to promise FUTUTE delivery of their demands in exchange for them disbanding. And then renege. In the process attempt to win popular support to pressure disbandment.

If the truckers are smart, they will hold their ground until all mandates are in fact lifted.

If…big if…they hold their ground, in less than two weeks Trudeau will relent. Ultimately he won’t give up power. So he has to relent. You heard it here.

Right! I live in NYC and when Cuomo first started to talk about lockdowns I said confidently that New Yorkers wouldn't stand for that for a minute. I was sure of it. Wow, was I wrong! I still haven't gotten over the shock of seeing my fellow New Yorkers turn into pod people overnight, just accepting bullshit from politicians. I wonder if they would have done the same 50 or 60 years ago.

I am inclined to think no, they could not have done this in the 70’s.

Most Americans- right or left, were proud of free speech. It was a principle. They wouldn’t have stood for totalitarianism.

But a generation passes on and replaced by a new generation who has no knowledge of the totalitarian states in the 20th century, and who embraces state power to enforce all of their utopian fantasies

Have a feeling that the lawsuits against the social media companies and the “fact-checkers” for coercing people into being injured or dying over these vaccines is going to drag on for the next decade. Thousands of law firms are waking up the reality that they just won the lottery.

I was thinking how interesting it is that lawyers sat back watching all the illegal maneuvering of governments and most didn't challenge what was going on. Now, they will be running to see if they can get in on the action. That may be an unfair and unkind assessment, but it is hard not to look at it that way when so many doctors, scientists, citizens, etc. were screaming about all of this.

Exactly Steve. The word liberal was hijacked by the far-right. A traditional liberal has more libertarian ideology than anything else. The root word of liberal; liber = free man. Liberals are not trying to destroy the Constitution it's far leftist marxists Communists and fascists. All these people who misuse the word are typically right-wing loons and they're too apathetic or too under-educated the bother to find out what a true liberal really is. They just sit back and listen to their right-wing false prophets they are no better than the left-wing lunatics that bow to the Marx and Lenin Manifestos. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Heart-disease risk soars after COVID — even with a mild case

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00403-0

"Even a mild case of COVID-19 can increase a person’s risk of cardiovascular problems for at least a year after diagnosis, a new study1 shows. Researchers found that rates of many conditions, such as heart failure and stroke, were substantially higher in people who had recovered from COVID-19 than in similar people who hadn’t had the disease.

Because severe disease increased the risk of complications much more than mild disease, Ardehali wrote, “it is important that those who are not vaccinated get their vaccine immediately”.
