This is what needs to happen across all industries. There is still no mandate and no FDA approved vaccine. Don’t let them force you to do anything which is unlawful, and while you’re at it, take that stupid piece of paper off your face!

We need a list of unwoke businesses!

Expand full comment

We sure do! I don’t mind paying slightly more either and always try to support my local small businesses unless it’s truly out of my price budget, but a list would be helpful because I used to support a local bookstore in AZ that is otherwise a great shop, but 2 elections in a row their newsletter was bashing Republicans and Trump supporters (more than just implied but not said outright). I’ve stopped shopping there. Same with a Spice Shop. Had it not been for their stupidity in putting their political views in their newsletter, I’d probably would be unknowingly be supporting their cause.

Expand full comment

That would be Penzey's Spices. I remember getting a vulgar email from them right after the election about not wanting my business if I voted for Trump. It was both dumb from a business perspective & insulting on a personal level even tho I didn't pull the lever for either candidate in 2016. And I have a food website that used to link to them. Not anymore.

Expand full comment

I also got that email. I immediately fired off an email of my own to them, explaining why I would never buy a Penzey's product again.

Expand full comment

Me, too. Bill Penzey is the only CEO I have ever written. Twice. They are headquartered fifteen minutes from my house and I could never walk in their store without dropping a significant amount of money. I am now down to my last couple of spice jars. Very sad.

You guess right! Plus they actually participated in the rioting and looting of their original location in MN or MO! That’s insurance fraud in my book (having been in the insurance industry 19+ years). I let them know too I was never shopping their store again and that it was a stupid business move

A local sandwich shop opened up and the owners Facebook page was all anti Trump. They never got my business. And yet I still support Amazon too much. I need to do better.

Expand full comment

Agreed and I could also. I barely shop at Amazon anymore and only do if I can’t get directly from the company itself or I really need it ASAP but most times I can wait. We do the best we can which still leads to positive change (maybe not fast enough in this situation but still….).

Under the rubric of the lesser to the two evils, give Walmart online a try. They're far from perfect. Delivery times are typically longer.

I don't strictly boycott Amazon. But I put extra effort into letting them have as little of my $ as possible.

I canceled a fencing job last week after I went to their office and saw a Biden/Harris sticker. I have used this company several times over the years, no more. I canceled Amazon, Netflix, eBay, PayPal and American Express a while ago ... no longer buy Coke, Unilever products... don't go to McDonald's, Target or Macy's... don't use Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram....yep it's an adjustment, but America is worth it.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that people who go on wearing masks regardless of how much proof there is that they are ineffective are ugly and want to hide their faces or they're criminals. Why else would you do that to yourself, especially when you're out at public places where they're not required? We don't have mandates in stores (yet), but these people are everywhere, most of them younger, some who are older with purple hair. Why do that without an overwhelming range of proofs that they work unless you're going to rob a place or because you're ashamed of your face?

l wear a mask in stores and public buildings. You judge and criticize me? It's none of your d****d business.

1) I have a blood cancer that's wrecked my immune system.

2) I will not get the vaxx - it's toxic, and besides, will not work on me, as myeloma reduces my ability to make antibodies to just 5-10% of a normal person's.

3) I use an N95, it may reduce transmission, or not, but it's worth the small sacrifice to me.

Please don't judge everyone you see. I'm not telling others they need to wear a mask, I'm not criticizing you. You don't know others' reasons or feelings - try being tolerant.

@NickC. You mean thrall muzzle and that these are not vaccines but mRNA Gene Altering Injections... but other than that i agree.

Expand full comment

Actually, FDA has approved Pfizer as of August 23 for 16 and up...just keeping the facts straight.

Expand full comment

No, they approved Comirnaty - not available in the US and legally distinct from Pfizer. Pfizer just had the EUA extended. You can read the actual extension on the FDAs website. It is a very sketch bait and switch for reasons not disclosed

Expand full comment

Except now the FDA has also released an updated info sheet that states “ The FDA-approved COMIRNATY (COVID-19 Vaccine, mRNA) and the FDA-authorized Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) have the same formulation and ***CAN BE USED INTERCHANGEABLY*** to provide the COVID-19 vaccination series.” (emphasis mine)

https://www.fda.gov/media/144414/download Third paragraph and footnote 1.

Expand full comment

Bait and switch. If they can be used interchangeably then they should have approved Pfizer and dropped the EUA. Why didn’t they?

Expand full comment

PS - The only reason I even know this is because I came across Sydney Powell’s legal filing suing the DoD to stop their vaccine mandate and it specifically mentions that this “can be used interchangeably” wording came from the FDA.

It appears that they quietly added this document and the specific wording in late September, likely to prevent people from being able to push back that the currently available jabs are not the actual FDA-approved ones. They really are trying to block every avenue for those of us who want freedom of medical choice.

Expand full comment

If you get the Comirnaty-labeled shot (hypothetically speaking here, because you can't get it), you at least have some legal recourse if you are harmed by it. If you get the EUA shot, which is the only Pfizer one you can get here in the U.S., you have no legal recourse. Doesn't matter if the FDA says the compounds are interchangeable. The compounds don't matter. Only the label matters

Expand full comment

Exactly.

Expand full comment

"CAN BE USED INTERCHANGEABLY" does not mean you're getting a licensed product. If the dose does not say Comirnaty, it's not a licensed product with associated legal consequences. What's worse, the licensed product Comirnaty doesn't even have to prove it is safe against scientificaly sufficient data of concern for cardiac issues until October 31, 2025.

Expand full comment

I just read the FDA site on this and my interpretation it’s approved for 16 and up and only extended for EU for 12-15 year olds and that it is being marketed now as Comirnaty

Expand full comment

I’ve worked in a pharmacy and I understand the relevance of a brand name.

Is there a difference in terms of liability? Or is this a distinction without difference? As in, is there something I can point to tell my employer why I would only take the Comirnaty product?

Expand full comment

Big difference in legal liability. Under EUA, NO ONE involved in giving you that shot — from the manufacturer, to the person who actually sticks the needle in your arm — has any liability for anything that might go wrong. Once a vaccine is approved and added to the childhood vaccine schedule (which already happened for Comirnaty) only the manufacturer has immunity from liability and any injuries you sustain go to Vaccine Court established under the 1986 law (even for adults, not just kids). They’ve already paid out billions over the years. Under EUA, if you are injured, you have to file a claim with a special office under HHS. It’s very restrictive and very hard to get compensated.

Expand full comment

Plus, you must file within one year of the date of vaccination--if you have long-term adverse effects or if it takes months to figure out where your health went haywire, too bad. If these were normally trialled vaccines the time limit would be understandable as there would be data on long-term effects.

Expand full comment

Another very good reason to never allow any child to receive more than one vaccine at a time. If there is an injury you will know exactly what caused it.

Expand full comment

Good point, also.

Expand full comment

Thank you. That’s exactly what I needed to know. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about the distinction but haven’t seen a good explanation as for why that matters. Luckily my employer hasn’t mandated it yet but I do work for a law firm so I think they would be more receptive about the difference in terms of liability.

Expand full comment

The distinction is the current EUA pfizer jabbie carries no liability. The supposedly "approved", but not available Cominarty jabbie does carry some limited liability.

Expand full comment

This isn’t true. Go do more research, you’ll find out that the FDA approved stuff isn’t available and likely will not be available until 2023. They approved the future stuff and are just hoping people won’t pay attention to that.

Expand full comment

It's already obsolete, that's why they're never going to manufacture it. It's a bait and switch to force people to accept the jabbie. That vax is 5 levels away from the current strains floating around. Getting that jabbie is the equivalent of getting an old flu shot from 5 years ago, as explained by a virologist on a panel I watched the other day. Boom!

Expand full comment

Can you point out where on the site we can find this? If this is true they sure fooled me!

Expand full comment

https://www.fda.gov/media/151710/download

Now go to page 6 and read all about the studies they have yet to do. Cardiac studies due in Oct 2025; pregnancy study due Dec 2025. Yikes!

Expand full comment

FDA approved "Comirnaty" which can only be used once the current inventory of the exact same drug is used up, expected in 2023. The current Pfizer vax is still under EUA.

Expand full comment

And thus cannot be mandated, Period !!!

Expand full comment

The FDA approved a vaccine that is not available. All the EUAs Vaccines are Now Illegal per Federal Law and FDA's own guidelines!! I guess rules do not apply anymore !!!!

Expand full comment

Correct. FDA illegally extended Pfizer's EUA when the rules say that once they have an approved product the EUA goes away. The rules are only for the "little" people. We need to change that.

Expand full comment

But since Comirnaty is not yet available, the conditions for EUA are still met. An alternative has to be available. If Pfizer never gets around to manufacturing Comirnaty it will never be available. We know they’re lying just because ivermectin is available, but as you said, rules don’t really apply to this. Jabs for everyone!

Expand full comment

Actually, the rule is if a drug is approved, the EUA is AUTOMATICALLY NULL & VOID. So, the FDA illegally extended the EUA for Pfizer, against their own rules.

Expand full comment

Their bait-and-switch is that Pfizer is legally distinct from Comirnaty. So Pfizer can be EUA, while Comirnaty is “approved” but not available. But, on the other hand, they’re interchangeable. It’s hard to wrap your head around it! Big question, if they are interchangeable then why didn’t FDA just “approve” Pfizer?

Expand full comment

That's not how the system works. Both jabbies are from the same manufacturer. Once one jabbie got "approved", the other jabbie EUA is supposed to go away according to the FDA's rules. Instead, they illegally extended the EUA for the Pfizer jabbie in order to fool the public. The only bait n'switch is that they gave corporations the "cover" to force the vac on people because of the faux "approval". They are betting on people's ignorance of the reality that the approved jabbie isn't available, and people have a legal right to reject it (not that they don't have a legal right to reject the EUA one BTW).

Expand full comment

Actually, the FDA approved Comirnaty, which is not available, not even being produced.

It was a deceitful bait-and-switch announcement, intended to obfuscate the matter and to confuse people. It apparently worked. The Pfizer drug for the Chinese virus is NOT FDA-approved. It is STILL only available under the longstanding EUA - Emergency Use Authorization.

Expand full comment

Exactly right. No FDA approved jab available in the US.
