I live in Portland, OR. Our state’s pandemic response has caused many of my neighbors to become mentally ill. We moved into our house about a month into the 2020 lockdown and have yet to meet the people across the street. They have two young, healthy children who have been forced to stay inside the entire pandemic for fear of a virus which poses basically zero risk to them. Their jailer (aka Mom) allowed them to play outside this morning. I was shocked. The only other time I’ve seen them was when they took a trip to the mailbox and cowered in fear behind their jailer upon seeing us. Child abuse is the only way to describe it. Even when all the mandates and restrictions are lifted, many people here are going to have a hard time with “normal”.

4. Prevent all politicians and their immediate family members from stock trading retroactive to the time that the politicians knew that a pandemic would likely be declared.
5. Develop a blueprint for measures to minimize human harm during the pandemic:
A. Implement government policies and programs to encourage Americans to not be fat.
B. Blueprint should include a sub-plan for each domain: schools, business sectors by NAICS, etc.
C. Design a PPP-type program that actually targets the businesses that would be harmed by a pandemic and any TEMPORARY AND SHORT-TERM SHUTDOWNS. Include in that program the measures for how business would be required to payback the relief funds if not demonstrating a material adverse financial impact by the end of the pandemic (convert the relief to a loan at market interest rates). Require personal and business guarantees on the relief payments until they are either forgiven if justified or they are paid back. Lenders use an abbreviated loan default process, get refunded by Treasury and Treasury goes after those that did not need the relief and refuses to pay it back.
D. Develop a communications strategy so that there is a clear and consistent flow of accurate, factual and timing information to the people so that the people can make their own decisions about how to remain as safe as possible without unduly harming themselves and their families and their communities in other ways.
And the fact that these types of plans were non-existent prior to the pandemic and that they were made up on the fly and were a mess of mistakes, errors and lies... justifies firing of every top level official at the CDC, NHI and many other agencies of the federal government.

If that's not bad enough, despite Newsom having rescinded the indoor mask mandate last week (except for schools,) organizations are choosing to continue to enforce indoors mask mandates for the indefinite future, and they've even made them more draconian than they'd previously been. Now, N95 or equivalently theatrical masks are required, for everyone, without exception.
Not in San Mateo county. Whole Foods in RWC is 60% massless and nobody checks. Santa Clara has crazy Sara Cody who kept mandates in place and San Francisco is a no go zone for me.

Also true of federal law as well, especially if you live in Canada, NZ, Australia, etc. Pennsylvania limited the governors emergency power to just 21 days, after that he must get legislative approval. The governor refuses to give up his emergency powers and the "opposition" does nothing. 3 miles from the Capitol Building, 18 of the 21 people at the Compton's grocery store on McKinley this morning (yes very specific and I counted, great beer selection, too!!) are still in masks (so they are terrified), kids are still required to wear masks inside at school and almost all of the kids wear masks walking home from school.

I live in Portland, OR. Our state’s pandemic response has caused many of my neighbors to become mentally ill. We moved into our house about a month into the 2020 lockdown and have yet to meet the people across the street. They have two young, healthy children who have been forced to stay inside the entire pandemic for fear of a virus which poses basically zero risk to them. Their jailer (aka Mom) allowed them to play outside this morning. I was shocked. The only other time I’ve seen them was when they took a trip to the mailbox and cowered in fear behind their jailer upon seeing us. Child abuse is the only way to describe it. Even when all the mandates and restrictions are lifted, many people here are going to have a hard time with “normal”.

2. Remove from positions of power all government officials that were connected to China or that made material mistakes related to the pandemic and lied about them.
3. Implement new legislation that seeks out and eliminates all material conflicts of interest between government officials and private industry... focusing specifically on the healthcare industry and big pharma.
4. Prevent all politicians and their immediate family members from stock trading retroactive to the time that the politicians knew that a pandemic would likely be declared.
5. Develop a blueprint for measures to minimize human harm during the pandemic:
A. Implement government policies and programs to encourage Americans to not be fat.
B. Blueprint should include a sub-plan for each domain: schools, business sectors by NAICS, etc.
C. Design a PPP-type program that actually targets the businesses that would be harmed by a pandemic and any TEMPORARY AND SHORT-TERM SHUTDOWNS. Include in that program the measures for how business would be required to payback the relief funds if not demonstrating a material adverse financial impact by the end of the pandemic (convert the relief to a loan at market interest rates). Require personal and business guarantees on the relief payments until they are either forgiven if justified or they are paid back.
