I gave blood and the employee asked about my vax status. I replied unvaxed. When she insert for the blood draw it was very painful and I told her. She blamed it on the antiseptic. She then cowered in the corner with workers. No one checked on me. I have given blood for decades. This time I ended up with a huge bruise and nerve damage. I realized it was my status that rendered such poor treatment and I wrote the entity. No one responded. When I got a call asking for another donation I told them what happened. She said they were never to ask vax status. So this obese person violated protocol and injured me and never an official apology.

If someone asks you for your vaxx status (or any healthcare question) just say "HIPPA" You don't have to answer any healthcare questions to nearly anyone, certainly not to give blood or to enter a restaurant or to go to a school board meeting. They might as well have asked you if you had sex last night and if you masturbate excessively -- yes, the vaxx status is equally as invasive of a question. I tell people "I'm proudly unvaccinated" but I could just as easily say, "That's none of your business." I'm more confrontational and I used to walk around stores without a mask looking for someone to give me shit about not wearing a mask so that I could tell them no to their face. But I digress... You don't have to give people your vaxx status.

Seriously. It would be heroic to provide blood to those who have some tragedy where transfused blood could save their life, but I think giving blood under present circumstances may not be so heroic. No one deserves a heroic deed at all, especially when said heroic deed could contribute to global authoritarianism. The idea that transhumanism is in the works seems effing CRAZY, and it absolutely is CRAZY...that this is ACTUALLY what is in the works. We have been treading down this path for a long time (from artificial heart valves, to the notion that augmented human breasts are the most beautiful ones, to basically *everyone* carrying around trackers/cellies, to "wearable technology", to the popularization of medical interventions to change one's "gender presentation", to almost everyone feeling compelled to accept injections they know NOTHING about), and now we are in deeeeeeep. Here's a light-hearted take from JP Sears on the World Economic Forum's work to promote transhumanism: https://youtu.be/6G3nWyoQ5CQ. This Harari guy is...whoa. Leonardo DiCaprio has always grossed me out and his attendance at the WEF gives me more confidence in my intuition.

So sorry you had to endure this. I gave blood once pre covid. I told the intake nurse I needed a butterfly needle due to small veins. No response. A freakin' horse needle was used. It was painful , cried the whole time & no one came to check on me. When it was almost over, the nurse came by . When I said take it out NOW. She said oh you won't get credit. I dont' care. Got a bruise & rash. The Red Cross did pay for the ER visit but never again.

Expand full comment

You are noble donating blood...not many people do. One of the things about blood for transfusion is that there are so few units donated, so one works hard to prevent hemolysis (breaking of the membranes) of the red cells. Decent studies show that there is substantial hemolysis through a butterfly needle; it is why they are generally not used. Best practice says use a 12 gauge (and that is GIANT) needle, but never anything smaller than a 16 gauge if one is working on transfusion blood. A butterfly is often 25 gauge.

If you were receiving a blood transfusion, they would not use a butterfly either for the same reasons. Sadly, if your veins are that bad, you may just not be in the prime pool for donating blood. Plenty of people with massive veins do not donate and we wish they would. But thank you for trying. Blood saves many people who would otherwise die.

Expand full comment

Thank you for the explanation. It is regrettable that the intake nurse chose not to say anything to me else I would have left. I guess my blood type was so desirable , it didn't matter what I said. I would certainly reconsider if there were emergencies or a friend/family member needed blood.

Expand full comment

Wow so you had a similar experience. I have always received acceptable care - children’s hospital better though. It was the person who called me for the donation who surmised the nerve damage. I don’t want to discourage anyone to give blood but if this is how they’re going to treat us - we’ll forget it

Expand full comment

Yes. And since I have a desirable blood type, I thought I would help out. On the positive side, when I called the Red Cross, they were apologetic that I had a bad experience. I did ask why they had junk food rather than fruit for afterward. Some mumbled reply about replenishing the salt. Surely, there must be better options than potato chips I said.

Expand full comment

I’m vaxxed (one J&J before I woke up), and I think if I needed blood, I would specify unvaccinated blood. Maybe if enough people demand it, things would change.

Expand full comment

If it makes you feel any better, the JnJ vaxx is not an mRNA vaxx and it's probably safe. Ineffective for sure but safe. The JnJ vaxx is made similar to a flu vaxx (which also doesn't work) and you're probably going to be OK. I don't take any vaxxes ever and I'm still a pureblood. My wife took the vaxx to save her job and she got the JnJ vax out of just dumb luck. And that's the last vaxx she took and hopefully the last one she'll ever take. Me and the kids are all pureblooded: no vaxx, never once. No PCR test, never once. I wear my disobedience like a badge of honor.

Expand full comment

The J&J vaxx is NOT like the flu vaxx. It is a "gene therapy' jab, but using DNA, with an adenovirus vector to deliver it into the cells, rather than mRNA wrapped in LipidNanoParticles. Not safe, not effective, and no one knows the long term effects. Avoid them all!

Expand full comment

CindyLou is right. J&J is still a gene therapy that instructs the body to make the toxic spike protein, which is the primary culprit. The delivery method into the cell doesn't matter.

I'm tired of trying to do the right things to be shit on by clown world. And I'm getting the impression that they're more desperate than ever for blood. I always got contacted before, but I literally get a call almost every day now from the Red Cross. Like so much of what has happened, these people still have no idea of the long term damage they've done and the collateral damage that will continue to come thanks to their actions and behaviors.

I used to fly a LOT and typically, almost always, the pilots were stately, fit people in their 40's and 50's--people who would have peak brain fitness. They'd stand with dignity near the gate waiting for the plane and perhaps talk with their colleagues. These young-uns were pasty, fat, holding fast food bags, and staring at their cell phones while waiting for the plane. Never seen anything like this before. The good ones chose retirement over the mandates, and these companies hired the new generation for LESS, I am sure. This younger generation is so accustomed to ill health and lack of autonomy. They're like "screw the boomers--we win!" but...young people aren't winning in my opinion when young people, in their "fucking years" aren't even having much sex in real life anymore. And they are all wrapped up in pathetic costume, cartoon, and diaper fetishes. What have we DONE to our young people? We raise our children like factory-farmed livestock. No--worse. I saw this coming a long time ago, and I never have known what to do about it. I just wish I were older and that I could have finished up a long life about...20 years ago.

I am still in that world and plan to remain so. While I have been terminated from my current position, I chose to tell all my colleagues why I was departing (my choice to rely on God's immunity). I also got outed to my small niche of the industry because of an opportunity to which I was appointed prior to mandates; since I was outed anyway, I have chosen to let folks externally why I am changing jobs, etc. I have been AMAZED by the support I have gotten. The few folks who have not supported just demonstrated what I already suspected to be true about them - that inclusion is only important if the person to be included shares their views. I had a wonderful conversation this morning with an exec at another company who called me out of the blue because they had heard my news. So I just want to second what others have said - there are more people out there than we think who believe that everyone - regardless of their views on these nuanced points - is owed respect and inclusion. I will continue to be a huge advocate for inclusion, while insisting on a broad view. And I hope to stay in the industry. My "inner circle" and network is incredibly diverse and growing - I believe because I show respect and invite solutions-driven conversations. We truly do have a silent majority and the more extreme things get, the more the silent majority will speak up. It took mandates for me to find my voice. And I found it with the strength that comes from knowing God has a plan for me in all of this.

Expand full comment

It's funny because the DEI that is pushed in current corporate America also has "inclusion" but it's not inclusion of people that are unvaccinated, white, male, Christian, Republican or heterosexual. It's inclusion of people that want to trance around in women's clothes even though they are males, it's inclusion of black women, and latinos (or latinx for the truly woke), it's inclusion of gays and people of color but this inclusion comes at the exclusion of the white male, the Christian conservative, and the woman who believes that she shouldn't have to compete against men in the women's 400M state championship. I'm all for diversity but not when it comes at the expense of someone who is more qualified for the job but happens to be male, white, and have judeo-christian family values.

Expand full comment

Inclusion, to be inclusive, MUST have a place for all views and all people, including the white male, the Christian conservative and.... All views deserve a place of respectful consideration. One's skin color or gender do not demonstrate their commitment to any position because we are all unique and wonderfully made, with unique perspective and diversity of experience. Who I am: white, female, Christian, lover of diversity, inclusion builder, intelligent, strong reputation, good at my job, imperfect human.

Expand full comment

Nope, that won't do at Disney. You must be a person of color, female (at least you have that), muslim, gay (trans gets extra points), and of course, a complete leftist Democrat.

At my wife's job, the hiring process takes about 7 months from the first contact to hiring -- very long. They hired a guy recently and they found out that his "partner" is his gay partner and that's he's married to a man. Somone said, "had we known that he was gay, we could have fast tracked his application and got him hired sooner through our DEI initiative." Yes, this was said and it was said unabashedly. To the left, racism only cuts one way.

And by the way, your bio is great and there are many companies that have conservative principles and Christian family values. They're out there, you just need to find them.

Expand full comment

I disagree. If your view is that you think there are 50 - 60 genders, I won’t give that any respect or consideration. Some cultures are better than others too. That’s just the truth of it.

Expand full comment

You know, I never thought of it that way, but yes, some views don't deserve a place of respectful consideration. If you think that a less-qualified person should get hired over a more qualified person because the less qualified person is BIPOC (black/indigenous/person of color), is female, is gay, is trans... then I won't give your view any respect. If you think that a child should learn about butt sex as a kindergartener, I won't allow it and I won't respect that view either. If you think that we should defund the police or get rid of private property or that the rich should feed the poor, I have no respect for that. There's a lot of views that don't deserve one iota of respect -- nearly all of them come out of the mouths of liberal democrats. Not all democrats are thieves but all thieves are democrats.

I was watching the movie "First they Killed my Father" last night." It's about the Khmer Rouge during Pol Pot. Throughout the movie, the oppressors constantly speak about the "new Cambodia" where there is no money, no personal property, no banking, no trading, no rich, no poor, and no class. That's what the "equity" in DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) stands for: equity of outcome. But we're not equal. Some of us work harder, some of us are stronger, some of us are more intelligent, some of us have more ambition. Equity of opportunity is great and I'm all for that. Equity of outcome only comes at the end of the barrel of a gun. Remember that Autonomous Zone in Seattle? That also didn't have money and personal property and it had a lot of DEI (or DIE as you say). These people are completely disconnected from reality and I don't buy that DEI crap at all -- but don't tell Disney and Gillette and Procter & Gamble -- they want us to buy their products and still push DEI. The whole thing is so odd and I've been to Disney's Magic Kingdom several times and I can't remember ever once seeing a trans person there. What if I identify as Mickey Mouse or one of Snow White's midgets like Sneezy? The whole thing is ridiculous and left-wing Democrats buy into this woke bullshit.

No they didn't. I have many colleagues who told patients not to get the vaccine. My own sister had severe response to coronavirus with hospitalization. High antibodies but newspaper, tv, government and friends all told her to get a vaccine so she ignored me and other doctors. Plenty got fired, reprimanded and ostracized. They just don't have the media clout that the idiots do. You think CNN, MSNBC, etc would host doctors who were against this vaccine? NO. Or who said the vaccine might kill you, give your child myocarditis, hurt your immune system over months or years. NO. Plenty were out there on Facebook, Twitter, etc but the provaxxers were much louder.

Father physician is unjabbed and always cautioned patients to make their own choice and consider their personal risks. He is actively recommending against jab 4. He recently had another physician walk up to him and say to the effect - you were right. Even those who initially bought in, realize that they should not have put their faith in human wisdom. The way I have begun to put it, human wisdom gained in haste is often full of error.

Thanks for asking. Cardiorespiratory seems fine. She is back to 2 mile walk daily. That took her about 5 weeks to work back to doing. Her heart rate and respiratory rate are normal and at precovid levels. She handles all her own financial, personal activities and I see no change in her mental status/cognitive ability. Seems to me exactly like she was before her illness.

Spring of 2020 the WSJ ran videos of front line nurses. One was crying how blood was spurting out of the patient’s orifices. I realized the other day you didn’t hear that by summer 2020. Was that real? It seemed genuine and I had sympathy even though I was completely against the mandates. I later canceled the wsj because it was obvious dissent wasn’t allowed.

Dave, it took me a while to find one, but yours is the first (only?) post to address the subject matter of Alex’s post: Twitter. I admit complete ignorance of the appeal of Twitter from a journalist’s perspective, except that it offers wide distribution. But it’s a wide distribution to anonymous, frequently anti-social people who are just looking to be titillated. And your “followers” today can easily be whipped into a frenzy to destroy your life tomorrow. I recommend shunning Twitter for one’s own mental health. It also has the societal benefit of one less person feeding the beast of uncivil discourse in the country.

Yes. I've been off for years and barely there when I was on.

Hi Dave, I was a bit sloppy with my comment, and I didn’t mean to imply my comments were directed to your Twitter use. Thankfully, you didn’t seem to take it that way.

In general, I view being censored or banned from Twitter as a badge of honor. I also suspect the quality of life for the banned has improved because of it.

I wonder if you would have been able to complete Pandemia and make it as well sourced had you not been banned from Twitter? Wasn't it a complete time sink for you? (I don't use Twitter except for ~15 minutes a day to scan trends, never post).

I only stumbled on you through Substack and initially even dismissed you as "just another dude seeing shit ain't adding up" (to be fair, I subscribe and read a huge number of people and sometimes their voices blend together).

Only after getting caught in the "Streisand effect" and forcing myself to go see why there was outrage Rogan had on Malone did I really pay attention to you. Saw you were on first, listened to it, realized you knew what was going on. Founding member that night. Never made it to the Malone Rogan episode.

If you somehow win your Twitter appeal/lawsuit, I hope you don't go back... I might be quite wrong, but feel like this is a better place for your type of journalism. Sure, your tweets are funny, but anyone can make funny tweets. Your investigative work isn't as easily reproduced.

When I see someone still wearing a mask I just say, "why are you still wearing a mask?" Then I tell them the mask doesn't work.

Expand full comment

I would love to know the replies that you get. What percentage say "Oh, thanks for telling me" and remove their mask? How many give you the stink eye? How many say mind your own business, fuck off, or even spew studies that prove that masks work? How many say Baaahhhhh. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Expand full comment

I just tune out no matter what they say. When they push back, I just say: "Say it loud, say it proud, the masks don't work." When that doesn't work, I just say "covid-19 is a hoax." That usually infuriates them. I'm a little sadistic and I once got my brother to storm out of the house fuming. Luckily we've made up since then and he now sees the whole thing doesn't make sense (although he did get vaxxed and boosted). Someone has to push back. Next time you don't want to say anything, think about all the times someone said something to you about not wearing a mask.

I push back with people I know and associate with but not crazy about creating public scenes. I have been banned from high school reunion, barbershop chorus, and even church praise band for not being vaxxed or masked. Divorced, it's get vaxxed or go home on dating sites.

"Sometimes you have to bear the cross." That's one of my favorite sayings with respect to standing up for your beliefs. So many people want to have their beliefs and then not pay a price. There are professional athletes that have lost hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars because they stood up for not allowing themselves to be vaccinated. For not being vaccinated or masked, you might lose friends, you might lose money, you might lose your job, but at least you stood for your principles. I have more respect for a guy (or gal) that sticks up for what he/she believes in, rather than 'going along to get along', particularly when that belief has a financial or social cost. As far as I'm concerned, those friends aren't great friends. If you've lost your job, friends, or money because of your beliefs, God will give you a better job, better friends, and more money in the end. God is in control and His plan for your life is better than your own. In the end, all will be good. If all is not good, it's not the end.

Never forget to remember that DISNEY made an entire documentary worshiping the ground this human piece of sh-t walks on.

Disney is just one of hundreds of mega corporations who are pushing narratives over truth and over right and wrong in order to serve their masters. Don't even get me started on what the President of Disney's entertainment content recently declared... Here's a quote from the New York Post;

[“I’m here as a mother of two queer children, actually,” Burke said on the call. “One transgender child and one pansexual child, and also as a leader.”

Burke said she supports featuring “many, many” characters who are LGBTQIA, which stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or questioning), intersex, and asexual (or allies).

The call was part of Disney’s “Reimagine Tomorrow” campaign, according to the video posted on Twitter Tuesday. Its website promises that 50 percent of regular and recurring characters across the Disney universe will come from “underrepresented groups.”

The Disney honcho said she had been dismayed to learn from a colleague that the company only had a “handful” of queer lead characters in its content.]

For all those needing encouragement…. Trust in God and Do the Right

by Norman Macleod 1857

Courage, brother! do not stumble,

Though thy path is dark as night;

There's a star to guide the humble—

Trust in God and do the right.

Let the road be long and dreary,

And its ending out of sight;

Foot it bravely—strong or weary—

Trust in God and do the right.

Perish policy and cunning,

Perish all that fears the light;

Whether losing, whether winning,

Trust in God and do the right.

Trust no party, church, or faction,

Trust no leader in the fight;

But in every word and action

Trust in God and do the right.

Trust no forms of guilty passion—

Friends can look like angels bright;

Trust no custom, school, or fashion—

Trust in God and do the right.

Some will hate thee, some will love thee;

Some will flatter, some will slight;

Cease from man and look above thee—

Trust in God and do the right.

Firmest rule, and safest guiding,

Inward peace and inward light;

Star upon our path abiding—

Trust in God and do the right.

And Look what the FDA Just Posted Today:

Give Your Community a Boost: Combatting Misinformation Through Communication and Research

April is National Minority Health Month, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services selected “Give Your Community a Boost” as this year’s theme. Over the last two years, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has worked and continues working tirelessly with our U.S. government partners, medical product manufacturers, international partners, and additional stakeholders to meet the challenges of COVID-19. Although the pandemic continues, significant strides have been made in efforts to protect the health of Americans. The FDA authorized and approved vaccines, treatments, increased available testing options such as at-home tests, and provided educational resources in a variety of languages.

During National Minority Health Month, we highlight the ways in which we are working to improve minority health and health equity. One aspect of “Give Your Community a Boost” centers on our continuous fight against COVID-19 and increasing health promotion through combatting misinformation and building trust with diverse communities. We continuously work to provide factual and reliable information to help consumers make the best health decisions for themselves, their loved ones, and their communities.
