Thanks Alex. At this point personal feelings have nothing to do with what is going on in our country. Except intense outrage.

Alex is recommending the Hank Rearden from Atlas Shrugged approach. I think the Democrats view 1984, Brave New World and Atlas Shrugged as instruction manuals not cautionary tales.

Expand full comment

I could be wrong, but it sounds a lot more like Howard Roark in The Fountainhead than it does Rearden in Atlas Shrugged. (I read them both many years ago).

Expand full comment

That too. But I was thinking of Rearden refusing to recognize the right of the court to try him and of the law to regulate that behavior.

No, you are so wrong! I am outraged that Trump, insurrectionist and Russian agent, was even allowed on the ballot. We have to use all the tools at our disposal to weaken him. They couldn't get Al Capone for murder so they got him for income tax evasion and that's all we are doing.

We must stop him! He's a threat to democracy! No one is above the law!

TDS can be treated. You should seek help before you set yourself on fire like the guy did earlier.

I think this is sarcasm (no one still believes Trump was a Russian agent and I note the "1492"). If it is not sarcasm, then yes, marlon1492 needs treatment for the Sam Harris syndrome.

Biden apparently is above the law, and ignorant people keep giving him more power. Thanks to you and people like you, let Biden win again, you can kiss your country and the American dream goodby. You can vote yourself into tyranny, but you have to fight your way out. But Marlon they have already taken your means of self-defense.

Really. Threat to democracy. What a fucking moron. It wasn’t Trump that used the FBI, the CDC, HHS and other federal agencies to censor Americans. It wasn’t Trump who is illegally using his powers to bribe voters by forgiving loans that they chose to take out. It wasn’t Trump that caused the death of 13 service members because after 20 years we had to get out of Afghanistan before September 11. It wasn’t Trump that allowed 10 million illegal’s to overwhelm our Southern boarder. It wasn’t Trump that caused the highest inflation in 40 years.

You have a serious case of TDS. The threat to our democracy is Joe Biden. Using the strength of the Federal Government to go after his political opponent. Look how it was uncovered in the un redacted court records that there was collusion between Justice Dept, Biden Admin & Federal Records office in Trump’s Federal record case. This is a banana republic!!

I have coffee conversations with a group that is mostly progressive and mostly hate Trump. They don't even know why. One guy even said he liked Trump's policies, but hates the man. Huh? We have, in this country, college graduates who implicitly believe that not liking someone is reason enough to prosecute them.

There must be a 'sheeple' gene in some people. Theya re born to follow, and pay no more attention where they're being led than a sheep does. And when you ask them how they got there, they don't know. Still, they're sure they're right.

They keep running losers like McCain, Romney, Jeb! and Nikki Haley, and openly support anti-American, pro-big business and globalist initiatives like free trade and unrestricted immigration. They also cooperate with Democrats to strengthen federal law enforcement agencies and weaponize them against Americans, at the expense of individual rights.

It is rather humorous to listen to the left wing legal "experts" describe the "seriousness" of this fraud of a case. Let's not forget, Hillary funded the fake dossier against Trump to influence the election, claimed it as a legal expense, and actually used campaign donations to pay for it. If the state and federal government is willing to look the other way, why is Trump being held to a different standard? The corruption is so far and deep, it's difficult to imagine a way out of this legal morass the left has created.

Am Hamas”,not allowing a Jewish Professor to enter the campus and a lunatic self immolating in front of the courthouse… and none of these psychopaths face consequences. Alex. I appreciate your honest review and analysis of this circus. It takes an honorable person to speak out for a person they don’t like or agree with.

However, What is even sadder than the fabrication of a crime by Bragg and his team is how they bend over backwards to avoid prosecuting real violent crime in Manhattan. The people of that borough ought to be outraged at the misuse of funds to go after Trump rather than real criminals. But I fear many are to blinded by leftist hate to see what is wrong here.

Everyone knows this case in Manhattan, as well as all the others, are a sham, and the longer it draws out the more people and the world see that. SCOTUS will deal with some of these cases, and this could effect the outcome of the charges So Trump should attend the trials and do his rallies afterwards. He has a jet so he can get anywhere in hours and back for trial the next morning, especially since he doesn't sleep more than 4 hours anyway.

Just shift into 5th gear and let her rip! The joke of the trials are even affecting liberal media's comments towards him.

We are supposedly a nation of impartial laws and constitutional protections without which we deserve no special standing in the world. Now these institutions are being perverted to “get” someone whom a broad swathe of the public dislikes. There will be a long tail to this and it should worry all rational Americans.

That train of impartial laws and constitutional protections has left the station. And unless there is overwhelming turnout for the election - voting Trump - such that fraud just isn’t possible, we’re done in this country. We may be anyway but I’ll try until the end.

You are correct but as someone who works in the justice system, I promise you this happens more frequently than most know,. It's just usually that the defendants are poor (and dare I say POC) patsies that provide a feather in the prosecution's cap. Very few are aware of this and it doesn't happen all the time, but it happens more often than most people are aware. I am not letting my heart bleed here, just telling it like it is. From someone who has worked on the inside, I can say our justice system is not what you think it is.

Alex, this is not Al Bragg or even Letica James. This is Joe Biden's DOJ. Merrick Garland had his #3 resign to assist Al Bragg in this case. Merrick Garland and his DOJ, at the behest of Joe Biden are trying to fraudulently deny Donald Trump the ability to be on the campaign trail in his bid for reelection in November. When you support democrats, you support all of the things that are happening in New York and Washington, DC. As I said before, because of your dislike of Donald Trump you voted for a 3rd world dictator and all that comes with it. You voted for this. Now you are whining about the outcome of your vote and those of like mind.

Right. It is a group of people, representing special interests, including their own, using the Presidency to advance those interests. We should be glad because it is the lack of cohesion that reveals the bankruptcy and exposes them. They seem to be desperate, given the level of unsubtle underneath the moves. Yet, brazenness conveys a level of impunity that is concerning. Ultimately, it means we don’t have a country. It is a private institution, a global corporation, working for its own interests. This means they don’t have legitimate authority over us. Hmm…

The Left has always focused on intentions, not on outcomes -- on fantasies vs. realities. They've always been the heroes in their own make-believe world, never-mind the chaos they cause in the actual world we all inhabit.

None of what's happening should surprise anyone. Real thinkers like Adam Smith, Hayek, Sowell, and many others have warned us about where this leads for a very long time.

God bless you Alex for your fair and honest appraisal of the travesty of justice that is being perpetrated in this country. And they say that Trump is a threat to democracy! This is what they do in dictatorships to take out the opposition. This country is turned upside down where we honor violent protests by terrorists and allow citizens to be abused. Is this pre WWII Germany? I'm a Christian and am appalled at the things that are being allowed against the Jewish students. They pay exorbitant tuition and can't even attend classes!!!!. Years ago, I ended up in the gallery of the Chicago Eight trial on the very day that Judge Hoffman bound and gagged Bobby Seale. That is a story onto itself. However, in response to your idea that Trump not participate, the Bobby Seale events sparked an idea. What if Trump shows up in Court wearing a visible gag, dramatizing the legal gag that Judge Merchan has applied. The press and hoopla surrounding such a dramatization would be major.

Normally I would agree with Alex but not this time. There is no benefit to Trump not fighting this. I am not a Trumpkin but given a choice of Biden or Trump I am Team Trump. I voted for him in '20 I already knew what Biden was going to do. The bigger issue that I see is the American voter who has zero critical thinking skills. It's now about whether we like the guy as a person! Ihave talked to enough folks to know they either vote for Biden or not at all cuz Orangeman be bad. They would rather pay $4/dz for eggs. Alex you say you don’t like Trump, but please don’t tell me you’re voting for Biden who you are suing. It really doesn’t help matters that you are publicly showing your disdain for a man they persecute all because he is the biggest threat to the Democrats’ power. You more than anyone should understand that. They are only putting him on trial here, there and everywhere because he’s running for president. Justice system be damned! The ends justify the means for this power-hungry party that is subverting our country. I don’t think this is the most important election of our lifetime. I think it could be our last. Trump doesn’t have to put up with any of this, but he’s taking it because he genuinely cares about our country. I would love to see a piece by you what will happen to our country with 4 more years of Biden and these Democrat reprobates. And btw,I didn’t vote for Trump because of his personality. I voted and will vote for him again for his policies and America first agenda. Sadly now we are last except for in chaos and being the laughing stock of the world!!!
