De-fund the police must be the single most boneheaded idea to ever come along.

And yet, the people behind the defund the police movement stay in positions of power and influence, so, they step back for a moment and then wait for the opportunity to step back in and create more mayhem and death.

You can’t negotiate or tolerate sociopathy folks, it is relentless in it’s hate, lust for power, and absolute annihilation of societal boundaries…

What? All of those social workers they hired didn’t curtail the surge? 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, but crime went up everywhere regardless of police numbers. Alex, please share more C19 stories like you used to do on Twitter. Example..ALPA (organization for all US pilot unions) released their death figures. 2019 (1 pilot death) 2020 (6 pilot deaths) 2021 (111 deaths and just for 9 months). Coincidentally pilot deaths "spiked" when the vaccines rolled out. Pilots are already more prone to cardiovascular issues so they they could be a good bellwether indicator. Alex should investigate this. https://stevekirsch.substack.com/p/are-100-dead-us-airline-pilots-trying

I can't imagine many people are going to willingly join any police force now a days, let alone MSP's.

Wait a second! I thought "the smart people" told us that all they need were social workers to go out and explain the benefits of being nice. Crazy that hasn't worked. Probably need to double down.

A dozen democrat controlled cities with record homicides? Shocking. Who could have imagined such a thing. The internal migration from anarcho-tyranny cities like SFO, Portland and NYC to red states is going to be like a global refugee crisis by 2023.

These cities are run by utter fools whose voters are indoctrinated losers. The universities are much to blame as the radicals from the ‘60’s turned teachers have been teaching principles that they believe would correctly reshape our once strong and proud country. It’s been going on for years, but they can be happy that their efforts are finally gathering steam. And the illiterate but woke youth will continue this destructive movement. Nothing but evil behind the scenes. That’s the way evil works, and it’s right before our eyes. There’s only one way to fight evil, and people don’t want God in this mix, which is exactly what is needed.

Maybe someone smarter than me can explain. if Minneapolis was an example of systematic racism in law enforcement would that not apply to those that were in charge of administering law enforcement. No doubt the mayor would be hounded out of office and the people would demand a new DA. Wholesale changes would be necessary. Did I miss something? It appears the same crew is there doing the same stuff as before? It stands to reason, if the system is rotten and has been poorly serving its most vulnerable citizens, the events of 2020 would be the catalyst for real change. So why are the people in charge then still in charge?

Out here in Seattle the lefties over the past 18 months have managed to whittle down the police department by about one-third. The crime and murder rates have skyrocketed. Easily solved chirped mayor Jenny "Summer of Love" Durkan. "I'll simply call them back to work." None were waiting by the telephone. Easily solved cried herzhonor Durkan. "We can invite people in to take the police academy entrance test - no appointment necessary. Just come on in. Coffee and donuts provided." Half the available seats sat empty. The pass rate, you ask? Less than 50% and most of those who passed the written test flunked the physical part. Perhaps too many donuts. Lesson learned: Be very careful of what you wish for. You just might get it.

And on a totally different topic (cuz I can’t comment on the Covid article) straight out of the Jacksonville, FL daily news rag-and the typos are theirs: “In Jacksonville, starting on Monday, Head Start and Head Start locations are requiring kids two-years-and-older will have to wear a mask indoors. The only exceptions are while napping, eating, or drinking, or if diagnosed with a disability that hinders them from wearing one.”

It’s always the poor kids that the feds go after first. The least among us.

Yep. Wuttashock. My sister in law lives in a high rent area of Minneapolis and was car jacked at 4:30 in the afternoon last week leaving the super market. They beat her up pretty badly and destroyed her car as they were attempting to steal it until some good samaritans came to her rescue and called the cops. My brother said the cops were great. They generally are good at the thing called fighting crime.

This morning ZeroHedge had an article about adjacent communities (Edina, MN) suffering from roving / mobile bands of criminals coming over from Minneapolis carjacking their citizens. Didn't sound like their Mayor et al were much in the mood for any defunding. Good read.

Oh yes, one more. Boston University school paper demanding complete dismantling of the campus police over high risk to black / brown students. They claimed 8 negative interactions with police / students since 1972. Really? I'm betting analysis of those 8 interactions going back 50 years would show the black / brown person driving the negative side of the interaction. Any takers on that bet? Thought not.

I think the Progressive social experiment is in hyper exponential mode. Fortunately it is the equivalent of a bottle rocket, hauling ass at the moment but soon to reach maximum height and explode. I use to worry about the foundations of conservatism, no longer, as the Democratic Party has allowed the most insane to take over, driving the middle back to the Right, it only takes 7 to 8% of the voters to move the needle. We are there. Conservatives simply need not eff it up.

Do we have a perfect world, with perfect people? Is there no sin in the world? Are all people perfectly truthful, without deceit? Then we need law enforcement, which also is not perfect, to keep order. Or we all end up in chaos. Do we have chaos in our cities and streets? I leave it to you to answer the question.

Ah yes George Soros (90 yrs old and widely seen as in dementia) the de-fund funder-- like all billionaires who THINK they are intellectually superior to us ""deplorables" -- it can be quickly shown that no they're not. I feel for the people who's lives are being affected by this. I hope they all remember who it is who is funding this trend.

I've lived in Minnesota my entire life, except for the couple of years I was in the Army and stationed in the south. Aside from that, I've been fortunate enough to have a job where I traveled around the country on a regular basis, so I had seen a lot of the US prior to being 22. Since then, I've often said that the Twin Cities is the best overall place to live in the country when taking all factors into consideration like crime, cost of living, natural features, schools, health care, etc. We really do have it all, while also having a relatively (prior 2020), diverse and tolerant community.

After the events that have taken place, and the dramatic shift in culture from tolerance to radical persecution of societal norms, I quickly moved my family "up north" where I'm from originally.

I don't know if this is a nationwide trend or not, but many of us have noticed that violent crimes are going woefully unreported and certainly not covered by the media. Hopefully this increase in police spending will start to right the ship once again.

One only has to cast their minds back in very recent history to Venezuela where Chavez literally stopped funding, or seriously underfunded, the legacy municipal police forces in Caracas. 'New' shadown police forces were established and were being run by bad actors 'nominated' into positions by Chavez's people. The predictable result was that the good cops left the force and the vacuum created was filled by criminals (essentially the Government and it's lackeys, AKA The Collectivos) with skyrocketing crime (it was getting bad anyway but this was one of many accelerants). In conclusion the left loves crime and disorder to keep the fear-porn real (like many Liberal / Dem-run cities) while they live the good life. No change there then!!!

Leftists are always experimenting on the public. When they need to sell it they use a single individual to tug at the heartstrings. When it fails (it always does), those individual victim's pictures aren't plastered across the television screens night after night. The victims of the experiment don't matter. People who would otherwise be enjoying the holidays with their families this year are no longer here due to the experiment.

The simple solution to all of this craziness would be to properly discipline officers that violate human rights. They don't do this because the police are the enforcement wing of the corporate state.

The left and the right are useless....

It’s easy for the Leftist leadership to manipulate crime rates by not arresting or charging, except in the cases of murder where the dead bodies tell the tale. Guess they couldn’t figure out a way to cover that up.

All I have to say about defunding the police, we the American people will then take matters in our own hands. The government has broken the laws. Blm, ANTIFA have broken the laws. We have stayed the course, and obeyed the laws. Since the laws no matter anymore, there’s nothing to obey anymore. Chaos Will ensue, or not. Like that pos Biden, I’m out of patience. Wow. I know the past two years have been horrific for reasons that stem from different points of origin. I understand that people have different perspectives and opinions. Our constitution allows for that. So does our birthright by giving us individuality and free will. In fact, it’s been longer than 2 years. Lifetimes upon lifetimes longer, but here we are pointing fingers, shaming, and belittling one another. I’m not a democrat or a hippy, but I’m certain many of you who read this will find a name and colorful description to assign me rather than taking time to understand each other with a will and a desire to find a way to come together on the same team standing up against those seeking to suppress, control, and harm anyone not standing on their side. Indeed it’s evil and self serving, but is the rest of humanity very far off from exhibiting the same behavior? Perhaps examining self and taking steps towards accountability would be a place to start. We can’t stand together when we start from a point of standing so far apart.

Yes, they had to do this because the crime topic has entered the man governors race despite the best efforts of all local media to suppress the issue. Crime watch mpls Twitter account (https://mobile.twitter.com/CrimeWatchMpls) wouldn’t stay quiet, people’s holiday shopping was interrupted abs finally the media had to mention the problem. This is the way…DO NOT GO SILENT. Keep talking, mocking, calling them out…and realize most government official and politicians have a 95% chance of being bought and paid for controlled opposition…so question everything and everyone!
