All the statistics used to “prove” this have been doctored or invented outright. Sure, the climate is changing. And sure C02 levels are higher. I agree with that. The climate has ALWAYS changed since the earth was created. The question is whether fossil fuel emissions are causing increased C02 which in turn is causing climate change. It is this that has not been proven. In fact, I would argue that we are actually benefitting from the increased C02. Plants need C02 to live. The more C02, the more plants thrive. We eat plants. Cows eat plants and so on. I liked the article and thought it was spot on except for the part about “let’s all agree” that the primary driver for increased C02 is fossil fuel emissions. I don’t think that is true. All the statistics used to “prove” this have been doctored or invented outright. Sure, the climate is changing. And sure C02 levels are higher. I agree with that. The climate has ALWAYS changed since the earth was created. The question is whether fossil fuel emissions are causing increased C02 which in turn is causing climate change. It is this that has not been proven. In fact, I would argue that we are actually benefitting from the increased C02. Plants need C02 to live. The more C02, the more plants thrive. We eat plants. Cows eat plants and so on. Ever since C02 levels have been increasing the world has had more food than we know what to do with (whether the food makes it into the mouths of all humanity is a different issue). The point is that we have an abundance of food due to higher C02 levels.
