My daughter in law, who is a nurse, got an email from her hospital administrator saying they were forgetting about the OSHA mandate but still had to comply with the CMS mandate because of Medicare/Medicaid money. Apparently they are encouraging religious exemption applications and actually approving them. She got hers, thankfully, and gets to keep her job. She already had Covid anyway. The whole thing is so stupid.
Makes me think about the Marxist use of their words and phrases too like "vaccine hesitant". There is no hesitancy with many of us...we know what we want and do not want after using our god given critical thinking abilities and conferring with those we trust. Such condescending terminology spewed by the left. Exact same place where the phrase anti-vaxxer comes from or build back better or new normal etc etc...

My RN spouse (of 22 yrs experience) just submitted her Request for Religious Accommodation for both the COVID and influenza vaccines to her large hospital employer. Our Catholic pastor provided a signed and sealed letter on parish letterhead as backup and explanation for why a Catholic (or indeed anyone) is entitled to a religious conscience exemption.
Her supervisor sent her a group email reminding their unit that anyone without their flu vax or COVID vax by Dec. 1 would be placed on unpaid leave.
We don't - but the state next door is under that court decision. So if she does get terminated, she could conceivably do the 1+ hour drive and maybe pick up a travel gig.
Of course we would still sue the hospital system for violating her 1st Amendment rights and refusing to grant an accommodation. Seems that would be a double-whammy insofar as they lose yet another highly experienced RN, and get sued as well. I'm a retired attorney - I definitely know what I'd be advising them.
Some good news though - her supervisor came to her today and said she *thought* she was getting a religious exemption, but they would see how it goes.
I wish you both the best. Maybe her employer is quietly figuring out how to retain valued staff given the court decision. Please let me know how this works out. My husband is a retired nurse (retired pre-covid) so have a particular interest in the treatment of nurses.

No comment on the federal court injunctions staying the CMS mandate, OR the Oct. 14 internal hospital management which stated that the Catholic hospital as a "religious organization, will not be issuing religious exemptions."

A friend submitted a religious exemption request for a board he sits on and wrote that the possibility that they would require more information from a religious leader to validate the sincerity of his beliefs was outrageous and demanded that he have the theological credentials of those evaluating him! We've canceled/postponed 3 trips to Europe, and yet I'm eager to get back to travel. We are not vaccinated. Is there anywhere in Europe that we can go freely? Wearing a mask on the flight and while on the ground and being asked for my "papers" is not a vacation to me, even if I were vaccinated. When will this all be exposed for what it is and end?

There certainly was no request for paperwork, as I had been led to expect.
So, for clarification and because I'm so curious, did you have to show a vax card to get on the international flight? If you are not vaccinated, were you worried about going? I'm so happy to hear that many were unmasked and that perhaps most restaurants and bars are not complying with the state demands for a vaccine to enter their establishments, but having not had the vaccine, I would worry about committing to a trip like that. But I sooo miss traveling to Europe...
I did show a card because I got, regrettably, the vaccine ( J&J--I insisted on the non mRNA one). Without it, I would have had to get a test prior, as I just did to fly home. I am 49 and feel that my best defense is that I enjoy a lot of time out in the sun. The more I read about natural vitamin D and covid, the more I think that the populations most affected by the 'vid -- the obese, elderly, ailing and sickly) suffer because they are generally less active and don't get out much. That is to say, I would be no more worried about travelling around without the jab. I also realize that masks are theatre and don't protect anyone. I was ready to throw one on if asked, but no one did.

Yesterday (Friday) my spouse received official word that her religious exemption requests - for both COVID as well as the flu vaccines - were officially granted.
No comment on the federal court injunctions staying the CMS mandate, OR the Oct. 14 internal hospital management which stated that the Catholic hospital as a "religious organization, will not be issuing religious exemptions."
Wonderful news. It may be that some employers are looking for a way out of mandates.

I agree that this was used as part of the coup, but there were enough voices of reason there - Dr. Scott Atlas and Dr. Paul Alexander as two examples - that he is still accountable. I wanted to post that same observation. Dr. McCullough appeared on Tucker Carlson back in April (I think) and was almost apoplectic that "VACCINE!" was the only way to go. I recall he was upset that no work was being done on therapeutics--to TREAT those who became sick.

My read of RFKs book is that medical research has been thoroughly corrupted and with the huge money at stake Fauci has gained power and money from doling out money to his world favourites. Like a drug leader picking his favourites to get the best corners. All US medical research universities/colleges as well as lots of those world wide are totally dependent upon his money for their jobs and survival. You could remove Fauci today and the system would keep on going.
My husband, who is an internal medicine physician, finally sees that, and it's very depressing. I remember telling him about ivermectin and how studies were showing it was very effective, and he said, "But the American Society of Infectious Disease doesn't say you should use it." Over time, he realized that the Society of Internal Medicine, etc., etc. have all been taken over by Big Pharma and Big Government. Now he's prescribing Ivermectin himself.

Unfortunately, there is no mandatory retirement age for federal employees (I'm one myself). But I know of very few feds still working in their late 70s, much less 80s. You'd think he'd leave now before it all falls apart.

A friend submitted a religious exemption request for a board he sits on and wrote that the possibility that they would require more information from a religious leader to validate the sincerity of his beliefs was outrageous and demanded that he have the theological credentials of those evaluating him! We'll see what he gets back from that!

I originally thought the border closure was realated to the articles about Africa having no trouble with covid despite such a low vax rate.
But canceling vax orders would make a lot more sense. Essentially an act of war in the current climate, that they consider deserving of sanctions.
Botswana clarified the infected were vaxxed travelers - it came from abroad. Border closures specific to Africa have absolutely nothing to do with science, and they won't fix the policy even when called out on the truth.
The vax mandate for federal contractors here in northern Alabama is essentially a joke. Any and all accommodations are rubber stamped. Its almost like they realized that it's hard to do business if all your engineers quit. Or maybe they actually care about our rights. Either way, I'm just sad I spent so much time worrying about it in September and October.

I'm supposed to go to Europe in May. I told my traveling companion, "I'll believe when we get on the plane."
BTW, this trip has been postponed TWICE.
We've canceled/postponed 3 trips to Europe, and yet I'm eager to get back to travel. We are not vaccinated. Is there anywhere in Europe that we can go freely? Wearing a mask on the flight and while on the ground and being asked for my "papers" is not a vacation to me, even if I were vaccinated. When will this all be exposed for what it is and end?

I am a New Englander and just flew to the UK and The Netherlands. Didn't wear a mask the entire flight. Walked around London all day yesterday, took the bus, shopped on Regent Street, went to a pharmacy, restaurant, bars until midnight...all with no mask, (many others as well). There certainly was no request for paperwork, as I had been led to expect.
So, for clarification and because I'm so curious, did you have to show a vax card to get on the international flight? If you are not vaccinated, were you worried about going? I'm so happy to hear that many were unmasked and that perhaps most restaurants and bars are not complying with the state demands for a vaccine to enter their establishments, but having not had the vaccine, I would worry about committing to a trip like that. But I sooo miss traveling to Europe...
I did show a card because I got, regrettably, the vaccine ( J&J--I insisted on the non mRNA one). Without it, I would have had to get a test prior, as I just did to fly home. I am 49 and feel that my best defense is that I enjoy a lot of time out in the sun. The more I read about natural vitamin D and covid, the more I think that the populations most affected by the 'vid -- the obese, elderly, ailing and sickly) suffer because they are generally less active and don't get out much. That is to say, I would be no more worried about travelling around without the jab. I also realize that masks are theatre and don't protect anyone. I was ready to throw one on if asked, but no one did.
