Joe Biden’s presidency appears to be the best thing that’s ever happened to El Hombre Naranja.
Trump is now the most popular politician in the United States by a wide margin.
Since December, his net favorability rating has gained 5 percentage points:
—
In fact, Trump is creeping towards a net positive favorability rating - which he HAS never had, not even in the very short-lived honeymoon after his 2016 inauguration.
With these numbers, why wouldn’t he plan on running in 2024?
More interestingly, why wouldn’t he keep claiming the 2020 election was stolen? He appears to have the best of both worlds in doing so: his base hears THE 2020 ELECTION WAS STOLEN, but his base-adjacent, the folks who voted for Biden but now regret doing so, hears LOOK AT WHAT’S HAPPENED SINCE I LOST, DONCHA WISH YOUR BOYFRIEND WAS HOT LIKE ME?
And, that is as it should be. He's consolidating his reputation amongst the base. It is too early for him to make a broader move just now. Allowing Trump to gradually fade is the best DeSantis strategy at this juncture. If he makes a move too early he becomes a target for Trump.
DeSantis won't run if DJT runs (unfortunately). He's young enough, and politically savvy enough, to wait. Going against DJT will only hurt him, and he knows that.
There is a legit argument that DeSantis is better off making Florida into a great state where freedom is a priority. The way we are going to make America great again is by returning power to the states. The only way to do this is via great Governors like DeSantis. A President can only do so much with the deep state in DC basically running everything at this point.
If DJT becomes Pres again in 2024, he should consistently push DeSantis as a governing role model from his bully pulpit, helping pave the way for a future run from DeSantis with his 'blessing.'
It is a great dilemma... I would prefer 8 years of DeSantis than 4 more of Trump...
I voted for Trump 2x and will again if he's the choice vs ANY Democrat on the planet. BUT - I know that as in 2020, the Dems/RINOS/Deep State will do ANYTHING to keep him from being president again.
We CANNOT survive another 4 or 8 years of the LEFTIST Democratic policies - by the end of 8 years, we will be a Authoritarian Leftist country where there will be NO freedoms...
So I want DeSantis - and I'd wish that Trump would settle for being an enthusiastic supporter and of the "NEW Republican Party" that encourages brave leaders in the DeSantis mold to come forward and serve.
They will be just as ruthless against DeSantis. They must win at all costs and by any means, and they will seek to CRUSH anyone who comes in their way!
If you think the leftist/Dems are just going to be any different to DeSantis than to Trump you are dreaming!!! They will not be ANY different (they have the media and all the media !!). Rush Limbaugh used to talk about this very topic (they were the same with Reagan). This country NEEDS Trump - a leader who can plow ahead dispite the vicious lies/attacks. DeSantis needs to stay right there in Florida with his young family and show people how to run states while out rightfully elected leader can do what it takes to somehow save this country (Rush Limbaugh also said their country would not survive a Biden admin). For God’s sake, “it’s not about Trump!!” (policies, look at policies!!)
Why would you hate Trump ? He did a lot of good for the country. Voting for a President is not a personality issue. You should be voting for the policies they support for the USA. You can't beat Trump in that arena. The best scenario for the COUNTRY is 4 more years of Trump's policies followed by 8 years of President Desantis. I would like to see a Trump / DeSantis ticket.
Highly likely scenario: DeSantis serves as Trump's running mate in 2024. Win or lose, he'd still be the heir apparent in 2028 (Since Trump can obviously serve only one term).
"The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves."
I think that means that the *Elector* and either the President he votes for, or the Vice President he votes for, or both, cannot be inhabitants of the same state.
So it's an inhabitant comparison between the *Elector* and at least one other person, *not* an inhabitant comparison between POTUS and VPOTUS candidates.
Nope, in fact my very democrat sister in law who's never voted GOP is voting for the GOP candidate in 2024, she doesn't care who it is. The inflation has totally pissed her off.
I voted for Trump 4 times (primaries too). I suppose I would be considered his base but I’m more discerning than that label. Pride in Operation Warp Speed and the dangerous gene therapy it produced is Trump’s Achilles heel. I’ve had issues with other Tump decisions (signing various spending bills, personnel picks, not taking on the deficit [and adding to], utter devotion to all military heads many who worked against him, no pardon for Assange...) but this is the one that could sway me. I go back to how well things worked his 4 years. Your point is excellent though.
My Father told me when I was fairly young, that the big problem is through the Great Depression then WWII the Nation got used to looking to DC for answers and has never gone back to local solutions to local problems. People do not understand that FEMA is not a first responder, the Locals are, as just one example. I so hope we can re-center it all.
You are absolutely correct... having a person like DeSantis or Trump at the top of the ticket is the ONLY thing that can SAVE our Constitutional Republic, which is at this point - tottering on the verge of a collapse.
I'm not sure that even 12 years (4 of Trump and 8 of DeSantis) will be enough to save us - but it would stem the tide a bit - time where hopefully a new generation of Patriot leaders will arise.
Unfortunately - I'm deeply afraid that our ceding of the K - College education system to the Leftists for going on 70 years has raised generations of kids who now believe that our Constitution is evil and must be replaced. If that is a majority - we are doomed.
This is my feeling also. I love DeSanits. I’d love him as VP in ‘24 and the two terms as POTUS. He would temper Trump to some degree as VP (as much as anyone could). That said, I agree that the longer he runs Florida the better his policy making decisions can be mirrored by other governors.
If he starts showing real signs he might run, the beasts on the left will start early in their effort to destroy him. Best not show his hand too early even if he is considering a run. Besides, if Trump does run and becomes the nominee, he’s gonna need a very good VP candidate and it won’t be Pence.
in a perfect world Trump and DeSantis align regardless of who runs. If they could just combine their respective individual greatest strengths, and use in for "we the people" better interest's wouldn't it be grand. A pipe dream sure, but that is what dreams are for...
I've heard of him and I'm in Ireland, the man's a legend and should def run for president in 2024, you guys need to do something and fast regarding Biden, he is ruining your country, or should I say the people who are really running the show are ruining your country, its frightening to watch. Only beacon of hope is DeSantis and Trump Ron Johnson etc
I was there as a child of the troubles, mid 90s, was lucky to be with a lovely family in the country side on a lake, I thought it was a beautiful country, very fast paced compared to Irish life. I bet the 70s was quite a time to be there 😁 Its so frightening and sad to see it literally get burned down by tyrannical psychopaths. Thank God for good men like DeSantis who haven't lost their moral compass. 🙏
Oddly enough, I don't know which side of the Troubles you were on, if any, but as a totally neutral sort of bloke, I was mightily pissed off seeing 'Noraid' openly soliciting donations on the streets of New York.
I mean, it was a bit like letting the Taliban run a Jumble Sale to raise funds: it was just so ...eurghhhh!
Yep. They know DeSantis is a strong contender for the GOP nomination. Ironically, this means we should completely discount how 'divisive' Trump is, because the media will do the same thing to DeSantis (or any GOP contender) as they did to Trump.
CoVid Response is DeSantis’ strong suit and outside of CovidCult Liberal Laptop Class, everyone else loves him for it. He should lean into it. He’d win by a landslide.
VP is more symbolic. Kameltoe is the woman of color, Pence was the calm to Trump's storm. If he runs, I think Trump should pick someone like Tulsi Gabbard for his running mate for 2024. She checks a bunch of boxes (woman, Hindu, Samoan-American, military, democrat, etc.). Probably the entire center of the democrat part would cross over.
Oh gawd anyone but that bitch. She's a psycho leftist. Yeah she has a couple good opinions, but like 10,000 terrible ones. Plus fuck off with that diversity shit. You're just as scummy as the Dems.
You are so mean Joe Green. My point is that the veep position is as useless as the pope's balls and you use the libtard diversity shit to your advantage to get Trump reelected.
Yeah but then she'll run for President and put Trump in a bad spot to endorse her over DeSantis. Trump needs someone who says from the get go that person will be VP for 4 years only and not run for president.
If they are from the same state, the electoral votes from that state become complicated. See 12th Amendment. In a close election, the electors could not cast votes for both of them. For example in 2000, if Cheney had not registered in Wyoming and both he and Bush were from Texas, Bush would have been president but Joe Lieberman would have been VP. So its relevant.
O'Biden's actions on masks should be viewed in the same light as a religious cult leader protecting the sacraments of a religion. No different than Muslim leaders fighting to retain the hijab. O'Biden and Psaki would be wanting to preserve a base, any base, at this stage, they lost blacks and Hispanics, they lost heterosexuals, they lost under 35 who want any semblance of a financial future. Nobody left except TV screechers and the last 8 people left who read The New Yorker.
He’s come a long way from closing the beaches, some of us Florida property owners are hard pressed to forget that. However, he’s come a long long way. He’s the standard bearer for the protection of freedom and liberty in states. I’d personally love to see him as potus and I’d gladly donate to his campaign. Most people would never know his background - msm sure won’t tell you he’s a Harvard law graduate and Naval officer winner of Bronze Star
Honestly though, I think anyone who graduated from Harvard has had to work hard to throw off much of their indoctrination there if they are any good now. Going forward, I'd love to see smart people skip Harvard, etc.and choose colleges that teach something of value.
Governor DeSantis graduated from Harvard Law in 2005. It was probably not as woke then as it is now. He is also not from an elitist background, and, of course, is very intelligent so I doubt he could be indoctrinated very easily.
And going head-to-head with Trump will ruin his numbers. He can't win in that situation because he needs Trump's diehard base. It's unfortunate for all of us that Trump probably won't step aside, but there it is.
I think Trump should run, take all the slings and arrows that will come either his OR DeSantis' way, he's going to inherit a DISASTER, he's already been in the chair, he knows what to expect, and he can clean up of it as much as humanly possible while DeSantis gets to finish out his 2nd full term, and will have 2 years to campaign without being governor to fully take advantage of that time. Let Trump clean up the mess for DeSantis to ease into.
Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946). We really should have someone born AFTER 1950 running for president next time, despite Trump's energy and first-time accomplishments.
Noem is finished in Republican national politics after her disastrous veto of the women's sports protection bill and deplorable attempts to deflect criticism.
Yes and her "companies can require you to vaxx up but hey you can leave so aren't free markets great" statement was also a disaster. The Chamber of Commerce convinces her to say these stupid things and she clearly lacks the judgment to push back.
DeSantis has been tremendous but if he were a true threat to putting the brakes on the nwo Great Reset he would be a marked man. Don't put much faith and trust in politicians. They let you down 99.99999% of the time (c19 survival rate).
I think DeSantis has been casted to play the role that the political process can work itself out and string people along long enough for the social credit score/passport trap is set. Yeah, I'm very cynical.
I have very black-pilled former students I talk to regularly who think that DeSantis is a system man too and that the USA is too broken for there to be an electoral solution to our problems. They are banking on social collapse within the decade. One stopped voting after Obama term one. One was an enthusiastic Trump supporter early (actually the first one out of everyone I know). Both are 31 and socially conservative and will no longer vote for anyone.
The comments here are proof that most people still cling to the political system. I think George Carlin had it right; It's one Big Club. And Shakespeare said all the world's a stage.
Plus I've noticed that the Controllers at the top appointed the gop as the globetrotters during the Bush years to the Dem Washington Generals. That's been flipped now. The gop sits back and plays pattycake and might write a strongly worded letter here and there.
Ephesians 6:12 states who the battle should be against from my point of view.
DeSantis has been tremendous but when the rubber really hits the road he will lay eggs and go along with whatever the Davos Crowd instructs him to.
Lots of time between now and 24 and his reputation is stellar. As a movie past once said' if you build it he will come" :) I believe WORD of DeSantis and what he has done and is doing would reach every nook and cranny in the USA and fast!
As Osama bin Laden didn't kill any American, your statement has no value. Did osama's men really manage to destroy 3 skyscrapers with 2 planes? Even a 5 year old child wouldn't buy that story if it wasn't for all the propaganda. Yet you do.
No. Joe Biden got more black votes than Obama, but only in large cities in key states. hahahaha. Believe that and you're a complete moron. Fucking election was rigged and stolen.
Exactly. The 'late-night' ballots had numbers not replicated anywhere else in the country. Biden got exactly the votes he needed, exactly WHERE he needed them, and exactly WHEN he needed them.
it is obvious. Everyone knows it, too many just will not admit it. Like stealing cookies from the cookie jar right there in front of mommy. They just keep going on about how this was the most "fair election crap, and racist and shut up not true"
And they know that if the media keeps repeating the mantra of "Trump's baseless claims of election fraud" the lie becomes the truth in the heads of many people.
Alex, son: the election WAS rigged. Look no further: 11 days prior to voting it was revealed that Biden's son and brother took bribes from the spy chief of China. The Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee cited "extreme counter-espionage concerns". This news was buried, blocked, censored, and denied. 16% of Biden voters say they would have voted differently (much more than enough for him to lose), no need to cite things like the 314,228 dead people who voted in Pennsylvania, the >45,000 sworn affidavits from people who witnessed election crimes, or the multiple videos of people tabulating the same Biden vote multiple times. Put a fork in it, the case is already closed: the defendant is guilty. He lost, and they cheated, E-N-D-O-F-S-T-O-R-Y.
Someday people will also start prying open the South Carolina primary, and they will detect the powerful odor of mendacity. The congenital career liar shouldn't even have been the candidate. In the fullness of time we will even learn how Obama has been running the country by phone, part time, from Martha's Vineyard, in between lunch with Beyonce and making plans to further his black supremacy ideology (cue Lori Lightfoot, Exhibit A). Coming to a world near you: equity. Watch along at home as an entire species self-destructs by replacing the strongest and most able individuals with those chosen strictly on the basis of their coloration.
This administration is a complete joke. Anyone who thinks life is better post Trump is smoking crack. Everything the lunatics accused Trump of has happened with Weekend at Bernies Biden and his band of rainbow woke warriors.
Well, now that you mention crack smoking believers, this administration has been good for one person (and only one person), the crack smoking "first son".
Haha don't get me started with that. In a free country with a real media, this would have raised some serious red flags about that sack of geriatric shit.
The laptop is real. Everybody knows it. It proves that Joe Biden is bought and paid for. Now it’s time to ask the hard questions: What would a bought president be doing? Cutting our energy independence? Hurting Americans by cutting off trade via sanctions? Pushing us into a war we can’t possibly win that would likely lead to the rise of China as the world’s superpower? Devaluing the dollar and gutting the middle class?
Maybe the better question is: If Biden’s goal was to wreck the economy and enable the rise of China, would he be doing anything at all differently?
Same here. I really didnt care for him before he ran for president. When he gave his famous speech, I told my wife "mark my words, he's going to be the next president.". Once he was president, I loved watching leftist children's heads explode. For the entertainment value alone, I hope he gets another term.
I laugh when I read these comparisons. If Trump didn’t receive hysterically negative media coverage 24/7 from our ridiculous media and the left was accurately reported for their harmful dumpster fire policies, the margin would be 20 points.
Alex, you don't have a clue on this political stuff. If you believe that Biden is at an almost 43% favorable rating, I have a bridge in New York that I want to sell you!! Stick to COVID statistics, PLEASE!!
Alex is a useful idiot who served his purpose well- as his popularity with conservatives wanes he will be back on CNN pandering to his Neighbors in NYC- i come here for the comments which are always more informative then his blabbering
Alex is a great resource and put his career and reputation on the line. I would hesitate to be hyper critical of someone who fights for truth. We don't have to agree on everything.
Sad part is Trump was a failure. He didn't drain the bathtub, let alone the swamp. Yes we had 4 prosperous years, but long-term he did nothing. DOJ, FBI, CIA, NSA et al still fully intact and inflicting harm. Appointed horrible people around him. His first act was to fire Mike Flynn. Literally accomplished nothing lasting. Biden overturned the Trump 4 years in a month, and fueled the surveillance state to crush everyday Americans.
You're right, he didn't manage to drain the swamp, but he did lower the water level enough to expose many of the horrid creatures in it for everyone to see.
Sorry Ross, and no offense, but this excuse is one of those that drives me crazy.
a.) Trump revealed nothing. Everyone on our side knew exactly what the Swamp was like and Trump was specifically elected because Trump claimed he could fix something everyone was aware was a problem.
He didn't run on "exposing" it.
It would be like me claiming that you should hire me as your expert geologist because I know there is oil under the ground in Texas. "Well, no kidding Sherlock, I don't need you to tell me something that is patently obvious - I want you to make sure we can get the oil out the ground."
b.) Trump ran specifically on draining the swamp saying he was the only one who could. Gullible people believed that, even though Trump had been in bed with the DC and NY swamp for years. His first month in office proved that he had no intention of "lowering the water level" after he hired Goldman Sachs to take over the admin.
c.) He had the full authority to rid DC of the swamp rats as he promised he would. Some might say he didn't have that power but I only need remind you that Obama got rid of W's people on practically day one. Trump kept most of the Obama people plus brought in the same types. He never cleaned house.
d.) one of the biggest swamp rats in the history of the Republic, is Mitch McConnell. Trump made sure that Mitch kept his seat. To this day, Trump endorses swamp creatures because that's who Trump is.
Trump's RINOism, fecklessness, and grifting are why I will never vote for the man.
Maybe you did but most people didn't know just how corrupted by the left and deep state the media and entertainment industry were before Trump.
Directly and indirectly Trump woke a lot of people up and if you are unable to see the positive effect Trump has had on modern politics you're not as smart as you think you are.
Great points. I'm not over shutting down the long-term western democratic principle known as 'freedom of movement.' Also can't get over the platform that was handed to Fauci (though really they had Trump check-mated on that front). I'd vote for Trump again over almost anyone in the Democrat party but he's not my first choice. DeSantis is, though I'd hate to lose him in Florida.
Not for me. There were embedded FBI assets in that crowd who were specifically there to make the thing look like a terrorist attack.
Once the fog lifted and we found out that there were FBI agent provocateurs, Cruz walked back that early statement and called it a mistake on his part. He shouldn't have said what he said but he did a mea culpa.
I have to admire a politician who admits an error. Rare in DC.
If it had been the other way around and Cruz had the election stolen from him, Trump would have been calling Ted a liar from the peanut gallery - and we know that Trump would never have admitted he was wrong.
Indeed, Trump has yet to apologize to Cruz for slandering him and his wife during the primaries.
Ya I get it. I just can't think of anything Cruz has really done except make great speeches. To me he is like most politicians. Trey Gowdy, Jason Chaffetz, many others come to mind. Cruz gave that speech to pander. His true self was revealed IMO.
In one respect, it was his true self. He thought there were terrorists in the crowd, and actually, he was right.
Cruz is a conservative crying in the Liberal wilderness. He needs to be either on the SCOTUS or in the White House. He's not of much value to us in a useless body like the US Senate. IMO.
Sadly, you make many valid points, though at least now we have a high contrast view of what reasonable policies and foolish policies do to the country.
Trump is enlightened millions to the corruption of DOJ, FBI, CIA, NSA, Media, Academia, Corp America. He single handedly deflated them. He is a hero and a fighter America needs.
Plus, Trump's primary policies on the border, budget, and healthcare, were just awful. Yes, his energy policies were good (though immediately overturned by Biden), and yes, his stance on Israel was decent.
But we're living in a failed world that Trump promised to address but only made significantly worse.
He didn't start building the wall until half his presidency was over! What the heck people? Where has logical thinking gone? How many miles of border wall did he get built? How many miles needed to be built?
You do know he was never given the funds needed, first by his own party when they controlled both the house and the senate and then again when the Democrats got back the house.
In the end he had to get the funds by using money appropriated from the military budget due to some clever work by his legal team.
Seeing your above comments it's clear you really haven't been paying attention to much regarding Trump's 4 years as president.
All he has to do as president is tell Congress he won't sign the budget without the necessary funding. In fact, he could have told McConnell that he would endorse his opponent in the primary if he didn't make sure that the funds were appropriated. Same threat for McCarthy.
Furthermore, there were many ways he could have secured the border without the wall. I didn't even expect him to build the wall, funded or otherwise. That's because I knew he was just playing the rubes with his "big beautiful wall" lies.
However, he, as the CoC, could have put troops on the border on day one with orders to protect the country from invasion. He could have killed two birds with one stone by pulling out of Afghanistan and redeploying all those soldiers to the souther border.
Win/Win.
He never did that.
He also promised to deport all illegals. That was totally within his power and purview. Never happened. The promise that got him the nomination - border security - was forgotten within a few months in office.
He repaired some fences and did a few slabs of concrete here and there. A dam that is 10% built isn't much of an accomplishment when the city downstream is underwater.
His policies were better than the Biden's to be sure. However...
a,) They were no better than Obama's border policies because Trump didn't even try. When his wall funding got shot down, he moved on even though he had a lot of other options.
b.) To the extent he delivered anything on the border, it wasn't even close to what he elected to do. His main campaign promise was to close the border to illegals. That didn't happen.
If Democrats had gone to sleep on Election Day night with Joe Biden winning, only to wake up to four states flipping in the middle of the night to make Trump the winner, they would have been totally cool about it and said, "hey, that's democracy for you." I'm almost positive.
Alex yet again shows his political bias and how it can cause even the most skeptical mind to short circuit when it touches a topic they're emotionally invested in opposing narrative.
Alex has spent hours researching the vaccines, digging through tons of data and laying out why they're likely not working as was sold to us.
Yet when it comes to 2020 voting issues he just outright declares it's a lie without even addressing some of the most basic questions. Like how did Joe Biden, someone who failed to get elected as president twice before, who wasn't popular with a large portion of the Democratic base during the democratic primaries, never mind independents. Had absolutely pathetic turnout at his campaign events, when he actually campaigned and wasn't at home, suddenly achieve a victory with more votes than Barack Obama?! In fact more than any other president in history?! While also losing bell weather states and achieving voter turnout higher than Barack Obama with blacks in certain districts and also achieving above 100% registered voter turnout in other districts. That's without even getting into the whole mess with illegally relaxed voter signature requirements done through secret lawsuits between outside NGOs and Governors outside the legislature. Or the now ample evidence by true the vote of massive ballot drops.
Alex, pull your head out your ass, set your biases aside and actually look at the data on the election. You may find it beneficial to turn a blind eye as it was against a candidate you didn't like but it's only a matter of time before it will be used against a candidate you support. The establishment doesn't want any outsiders making it into office.
yeah other than those boxes of unmaked ballots they found in that biker's backpack, or was it the trunk of a car. either way. Newsom panicked and pulled out all the mail-in voter fraud stops. he would have probably won anyway but not by that much
Alex does have a total blind spot when it comes to Trump, the stolen 2020 election and the effecting HCQ and ivermectin. There are so many in-depth we’ll documented accounts of Zuckerberg dollars, ballot harvesting, drop boxes, etc that he refuses to acknowledge. Trump, with all his faults, was the best thing that happened in 2016. It woke people up. DeSantis is probably great too but doesn’t have name recognition and won’t run against Trump.
Do you by any chance have a link to it? I lost track of of it. And searches are often ineffective for anything big tech isn't eager for us to focus on.
Time, Feb 4th, 2021. “The secret history of the shadow campaign that saved the 2020 election” by Molly Ball. You May have to subscribe to the online edition.
Berenson I am with you on a lot of issues, but it is evident that you have clearly not done any type of deep dive on the subject. There are eight states that have uncovered massive amounts of fraud, Wisconsin and Georgia being the most well documented, and Arizona continues to come out with information about the extensive false votes and non-citizen votes found in their states that were beyond the margin of victory. So you can’t have that level of discovery in a state and decry that a candidate is making false claims, his claims on specific states and issues are accurate and verified by courts/state investigations. Just go back and watch the Wisconsin Senate hearings. Go look at all of the ballot scans from Georgia, or even watch the 2000 Mule‘s documentary that proves that there were fraudulent ballot stuffing mules all over the country stopping ballot boxes with fake ballots. Especially in Wisconsin. Hillary Clinton was allowed to claim that Trump stole 2016 from her for years with the left going along and there was no evidence uncovered with the exception of one county and she lost in the one county where she was able to file a verified grievance. There are numerous lawsuits uncovering numerous irregularities, election officials being arrested, there are so many different legal things going on where there is discovery. And history will look back and see the errors in those states. And I’ll be very honest and say that as a rational, intelligent individual who does my own research, if that man was running around making fraudulent claims constantly about a stolen election with no evidence happening in any state to back it up, I would never vote for him again in a million years.
So your theory that he is stirring his base with claims of fraud is just not accurate. If anything he’s continuous talking about the fraud of 2020 is alienating his base- along with his vaccine pushing.
Yes, all along there has been so much evidence being uncovered. The media would laugh at it without addressing any specifics. It is crazy that still works anymore!
Overall in most states there was very minimal manual override vote switching. It wasn’t enough to override the margin of victory. The majority of the fraud in the states was good old fashion ballot box stuffing- with pre-printed fake ballots, or harvested mail in ballots that were stolen.
I seem to find anyone that does not believe there was any fraud in 2020 simply hasn’t looked at what is happening in each state. Those of us who have have seen all these things.
Who actually thinks Trump is popular? People living under a rock the last 5 years?
The man gave us the Covid fascism that we have been dealing with for the last 2 years. He gave us runaway spending, the effects of which we are seeing everywhere.
Is Trump better than Biden? Obviously, but then Biden is better than Satan. So what?
Trump needs to just go away. He's old, he's a RINO (proven constantly by his endorsements), and he proved he's just not a very good leader. Time to move on.
I doubt we would agree on a lot politically but you have the most intelligent and principled comments on this whole thread. I really wish you luck swaying your fellow members of the conservative base to move on from Trump. The way I see it, anyone who says that DeSantis will be attacked by the left as “literal Hitler” just like Trump is NOT factoring the CoVid policies. Here’s a list of people who could be pulled from Independent to Red voters; college kids who had their lives ruined by mandates, new young voters who had the last 2 years of their high school ruined by mask and vax mandates, people coerced to take vaccines through their work (thanks all you right-to-work Libertarian judges who will always side with corporate interests over working people), people who had a loved one die or become injured from the CoVid vaccine, people who don’t want unelected unaccountable public health bureaucrats ruining their lives anymore, people who believe in body autonomy and personal medical freedom, people who saw the QR movement codes and decided that was too dystopian, people who saw the Fact Checkers from the TNI get things wrong over and over again. Considering 25K people showed up in Liberal LA to a defeat the mandates rally and even more watched it on streams (I watched all 8 hours of it over a few days) I think this is a large chunk of voters who could be turned reliably Red *if* the GOP is smart and moves on from failed Trump. I fear they won’t though.
I’m probably most politically aligned with Russell Brand as far as media personalities go, and I liked Mike Gravel best policy-wise of all candidates last time (even though he is was ancient and his run was mainly a lark to show the Democrats what a principled candidate actually looked like). That said, I have never cared as much about anything politically as I do about CoVid mandates, QR codes, technocrat authoritarianism. I’m ready to align without whoever comes out swinging against all this. My top pick is DeSantis and I don’t even care what his other policies are because this stuff is existential. Trump is out for me due to OWS and how he let Fauci and Pharma roll him. Kamala is scarier than Biden because she has no policy or principles beyond her own ambition and she would probably Girl Power us right into nuclear war. The next 3 years are going to be rough and I think whoever inherits this mess needs to be young, sharp, clear headed, impervious to media attacks.
Elephant in the room: DeSantis. Trump needs to back away and become the elder stateman (doubt his pride will allow him to do so) and throw all of his support behind DeSantis.
This is true, but these people are not the audience. DeSantis does a masterful job at handling all of their lying criticisms. He throws it right back in their faces with eloquence, intelligence and craft. He's pretty much everything good we got from Trump along with everything else we needed from Trump that we didn't get.
Until DeSantis gets in the Oval Office. Then the Deep State will be able to use their full power against him. Right now he only has to deal with his state and he can control quite a bit there. I don’t think any of has a clue as to how far down the chain in each Agency it is totally corrupted. He might change those at the top, but it’s mid level that can fu@k him up just as bad. That and the Fed court system is loaded up with Obamaites .
They will come for him during the campaign if he wins the Republican primaries.
In the meantime they are already smearing him on a nation scale over his Covid policies and recently New York attacked him over his 'don't say gay' law.
So you can see that they are already working on him on a national scale and that will go into overdrive should he win the nomination for 2024.
They hate DeSantis and have thrown everything they could at him, but unlike Trump, DeSantis is an adult and knows how to actually get things done and avoid being sucked into the vortex. After 4 years of Trump literally doing the opposite of what he promised, it’s been a wonder to watch a guy like DeSantis actually follow through on promises. Even exceed them.
it is relevant to those in the 'middle' who are gullible and easily swayed...just because it doesn't matter to you or I doesn't mean it doesn't matter to a bloc of the electorate that we need in order to win elections.
Plus it didn't hurt him in 2020 when he gained millions of votes more than in 2016 but he was unfortunately up against the most popular presidential candidate in US history...
A small minority of Trump voters pulled the lever for him because they loved what he did as president during his first term. Most of his votes in 2020 were from people who held their nose and figured he was going to be better than Biden.
Millions more that would have supported him had he fulfilled even half his 2016 campaign promises, stayed home. Those were the working class Dems who believed his rhetoric the first time around but got burned and stayed home in 2020.
Trump was likely aced out of a win in 2020 by fraud committed by the Dems but even had they not done so, Trump would have won by the most narrow of margins. Had he actually done even a half way decent job during his first term, he would have swamped any fraud attempted by the Dems.
This is the dirty little secret of that election; the fact that the Dems didn't really have to cover much of a margin through fraud to win. They saw themselves down by a few votes here and there and made up the difference with their typical midnight antics.
But I blame Trump directly for putting himself in a situation that allowed the Dems to do that. If you do your job well, your base will turn out in massive numbers. If you don't they'll stay home in massive numbers.
There’s an entire block of former liberals on Twitter begging for DeSantis to run based on his CoVid policies. They sure don’t hate DeSantis like they hated Trump.
El Hombre Naranja made me vote “red” for the first time in my life as he opened my eyes to all the BS of the left. I never followed politics until Trump but he’s turned a huge amount of us hard-working and educated Latinos into newly proud Republicans, even though most of us are still registered as Dems. We’re the secret vote that has Trump’s back.
Never forget - Trump shut down the nation giving rise to the dictator Governors and Mayors! Trump disregarded all of Scott Atlas' advice and stuck with Fauci & Birx. If Trump was a true conservative/brilliant mind he would have stuck to principal. Trump shut down the churches, schools etc. etc. Trump blew a golden opportunity to change America.
You must have missed the part where Hillary & Co branded him as a Russian agent and got half the country to believe it. Does the name Mueller ring a bell?
We knew about the state of the state. We elected Trump because he said he could fix it.
Put another way, if the electorate had been unaware of the corruption of the deep state, Trump would have had nothing to run on and would have been eliminated from consideration in the primaries in the first month.
I’m so tired of the line that “Trump exposed the deep state”. It’s just moronic - no offense.
I’m willing to bet most folks had no idea of the depth of corruption of the intelligence services, the executive agencies and the courts. Now, five or six years later, everybody gets it. Congratulations on being ahead of the curve.
Touché. Dude is a phony if he claims he knew the depth of the swamp. Nobody knew the depth of corruption, except those running things, and I'll bet they amazed even themselves with the shit they pulled on Trump.
And I suppose you believe he didn't put on one hell of an effort? Dude, nobody could have done better under the circumstances. The job of changing the longtime culture in DC is going to take a lot longer than four years. These people are so crooked, and they fight like hell to keep their power.
Oh, excuse me, I bet you think you could have wrapped it up in one term. Yeah, sure.
Trump apologists in the first year of his disastrous presidency could be forgiven because they thought he would finally get a clue and find his footing. But after four years of Trump expanding the deep state, implementing Covid fascism, and spending us into oblivion, they had no further excuse.
Now, the only people defending Trump with tripe like “nobody could have done better”, are simply demonstrating themselves to be delusional.
Nobody forced Trump to install a bunch of deep-staters in his cabinet. No one twisted his arm to hire Fauci. No one held his hand to force him to sign the heinous jailbreak legislation or multi-trillion dollar spending bills.
Trump promised that “only he” had a big enough brain to take on the deep state. It was a lie then and is to this day.
Did that require the POTUS' daughter or son-in-law to be accomplished? Hard to believe that is so. I'm sorry - if Chelsea Clinton or the like were in similar paid WH roles, with no experience, I'd be furious.
That's on the POTUS' throughout time, not the staff. The buck stops with him/her. It is a terrible precedent to have adult children of POTUS appearing to pursue personal policy objectives, even when those objectives ultimately are good. We are not a monarchy. If a Democrat was doing this many of us conservatives would be furious. Hunter Biden is bad enough in his personal capacity, much less an official one.
I thought it was a terrible precedent to have people who couldn't get the job done trying to do it and instead maybe we should send somebody who could?
Hunter Biden wouldn't be able to handle an official capacity, but if he somehow solved global starvation or invented the replicator while in such a capacity, I certainly wouldn't be talking shit about him.
Do you meant to suggest that Jared Kushner is the only American in the entire US who could have pulled that off? I'm not saying it wasn't a good thing; just that I'm skeptical that Jared was the linchpin to it all. The POTUS sets the policy goals and his people achieve them, or they go. These roles should not go to adult children of POTUS's unless they are qualified. To me, both Jared and Ivanka came across as pursuing PERSONAL policy objectives and I don't think that impression (which was widespread) inured to POTUS' benefit - even if the policy was ultimately good.
Had Trump not shutdown the nation, the governors and mayors would not have been emboldened. I will never forgive Trump for shutting down this country and classifying some jobs as "essential" and some as "non-essential." Unforgivable.
Huh? There was no 2 weeks to slow the curve? What? There was no essential/non-essential categories. Did he fire Fauci or Birx? Hmmm Please Trump in the end was a disaster. Do you think the Governors/Mayors would have done any of this if Trump/Fauci/Birx didn't say and do what they did? Are you still high from 4/20?
No Mayor or Governor would have shut their state down if Trump hadn't emboldened them and shown them a new power they never thought existed. Certainly, Red States wouldn't have shutdown. Trump did the unforgivable by shutting down our country and classifying certain jobs as "essential" and "non-essential." And while you're referencing the constitution, where in the constitution does it say you can force quarantine and lockdowns for a virus? Smart guy.
This doesn't make any sense. NYC and California shut down on their own, Trump had nothing to do with it.
And the part of the Constitution you're looking for is the 10th Amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
Now name the Red States that shutdown. Why? What gave them the inkling that this was okay? Trump should have led by example and done none of what he did. Somehow I knew this from the beginning, but I guess most people don't science.
2 weeks to slow the curve was the beginning of the total fascist takeover of the country. That was Trump. He gave every state a way to take as much power as they chose.
The one thing he did right was support Israel and improve our energy supply. He then decided to destroy his own presidency with his Covid fascism and ended up handing the White House to Biden.
Look up the word “disaster” in the dictionary in 10 years and there will be a picture of Trump in the definition.
He was in a different universe than what we're in now, that's for sure. But he was his own worst enemy at times too. I voted for him and would vote for him again, but would prefer someone younger and more thoughtful about what he/she is saying/doing. I'd also like someone who has actually read the Constitution at some point in life.
Don't want to bore you all with undue details, but I was initially not a Trump supporter at all! Kept supporting every other Republican candidate at the time: Dr. Carson, Ted Cruz, even Sen. Rubio. In the end, it was a No Brainer for me vis-à-vis Hillary Clinton. Now I realize how BLIND I was; if it hadn't been for Trump we would never have discovered the Indoctrination in Public schools, the CRT lies (talk about divisiveness huh! But "democrats get a pass! Why!?), the infiltration of our Public institutions, the War on Religion, the Woke Military, the methodical attack on traditional values, and the nuclear family, the Radical Transgender trolls, the Deep State, the collusion between and within government agencies, etc. etc. Think about it.
A better goal is to not show up at his self-serving “rallies” in the first place. He needs to be humiliated, not supported. He’s as old as Bush and half as competent and I would never vote for a guy that old or dumb for the nomination.
I just shake my head at the thought that there are actually people in our country that support this conman. But then again, people willingly got vaxxed when all evidence was available that it was a mind-blowingly dumb thing to do.
Candidly, I don't get the Trump worship at these rallies after his dismal performance as POTUS. Excuse-making I can somewhat understand. That's a side-effect of having voted for the guy for the nomination and thus, is more about making excuses for one's own lack of critical thinking than it is for Trump's.
But taking the time to show up at a rally for a failed politician. It boggles the mind.
I had never voted Republican before 2020- I didn’t vote in 2016. I would have crawled through broken glass to vote for Trump then. I will never vote Democrat again. I miss bad orange man and his mean tweets
Meanwhile, Berenson gets to keep pretending he doesn't know the election was stolen. That keeps him on good terms with at least some of the "in" crowd. Just like when he pretends he doesn't know that Ivermectin and HCQ are effective antivirals for Covid.
Where does Ron DeSantis fit into the favorability ratings? I hear he is also thinking of running which would explain why Trump (who green-lighted and pushed the disastrous Warp Speed agenda) is sniping at him.
The left needs trump. Cnn+ wants this to happen to be honest Alex. Without trump around to point to and take all of the focus away, the left has been exposed for the clown car that they are. They prefer to drive that clown car behind trumps boisterous bus so no one can see what they are up to.
I just wonder who can look at all that's been exposed by Durham, the IG's, the FISA Court fraud, the State Legislature's audit findings of unConstitutional election changes etc etc etc and NOT think the election was rigged. Who thinks Democrats have an ethical line they won't cross for power? Why wouldn't they use election fraud? They've done everything else to Trump. There is no logic in thinking Biden was "elected".
Everyone must adjust their hatred toward him because it is based on lies. The media lied about Russia, they lied about Charleston, they lied about a million little things to turn the Republican base off and repulse middle of the road Dems. The "grab 'em" talk was the only thing they ever actually got. That isn't more important than a secure border, or not engaging in useless wars, or funding infrastructure or opportunity zones, or 3% interest rates and $2.99 gas. The progressives only had his harsh personality to criticize. Frankly, now that I know the rest of Europe is captured by the NWO, I LIKE that they hate him. Most of his policies were spot on and good for Americans, which should be his only concern.
Orange Man 'Not Doing to bad at all". Then again, look at his competition - Basement Biden or Hurtin' Harris for Godssake. I agree with Anti-Communist Guy that DeSantis is THE MAN, which is why Orange Man should thrown all his weight behind him and enjoy his golf.
Had Trump been able to shut up just a little bit things may have been different. The media was biased against him from day 1 but he did himself no favors.
Good stuff. Folks are in ABB (anyone but biden) mode. If he admits he was misled on the clot shots and advises a halt, with NO kids injected, I'll vote for him. I know many others who feel the same.
Well I will vote for El Naranjo, but I am having a hard time swallowing his judgement regarding the Vax and Fauci. My take on Desantis vs. Trump. Trump has massive charisma (love him or hate him you know you can't help but watch him ). Desantis has more polish and the Florida legislature + Desantis are getting major and minor reforms passed. Such as the "no patient left alone" bill which is the right to have someone visit you in a hospital or nursing home. The fact we have to pass said bill blows my mind.
Trump needs to get the a good group around him to dismantle the administrative state. Let's take St. Fauci for example. How is the US in a position to have one person in charge for 40 years? Let's reimagine government ... How about one that is run by the people and for the people. Which means to me you have to rotate the admin positions maybe just have some heads of hospitals physicians and lay people in there, similar to jury duty. We have to be able to fire gov't workers when they are incompetent. There has to be a way to deconstruct, dismantle regulatory capture of our major institutions.
I just don't know if Trump can get a good group around him or not. Desantis would definitely get a good group around him.
I think Desantis is smart enough not to run against Trump. Trump takes a bulldozer to people and it would be hard to recover. Little Marco, Lyin Ted, Crooked Hilary just to name a few. Desantis is termed in 4 years. 2026.
Not getting my vote unless he backs off on the mRNA injections and the fake covid narrative. I voted for him the last 2 times, but he needs to wake up a bit.
I doubt this. Trump has consistently said that he's the "father" of the vax. He has not repented of his position but has simply not promoted the vax of late. Operation Warp Speed and his promotion of it was just used in an ad campaign on YouTube which he hasn't disavowed.
"Nobody is perfect" is a label that can be applied to even the worst person on the planet.
The irony is that W was more conservative than Trump yet most people on our side would never vote for W again (and I should mention that W and Trump are the same age: 75).
Hey, maybe W should mount a primary challenge to Trump! The battle of the washed up geezers :-)
And Trump is an order of magnitude worse than Bush.
• Trump was a bigger spender than Bush
• Trump was a louder mouth than Bush (which only served to embolden the Left)
• Trump was a fake conservative while Bush was unabashedly establishment through and through, but hey - I'd love to see us return to Bush's brand of Republicanism over what Trump gave us.
• Trump kicked off Covid Fascism. Bush would never have imagined the president of the US doing such a thing (and there was nearly an identical Covid virus outbreak during his administration if you'll recall).
Alex, you like to pretend you're the smartest guy in the room, but how much do you actually know about the 2020 election? How would you react if Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips of True the Vote proved 4.8 MILLION illegal votes in just 5 battleground/swing states: Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, & Michigan. For Americans who are just now waking up to the empirically proven FRAUD, start here with this interview Charlie Kirk conducted with True the Vote's Engelbrecht and Phillips > https://charliekirk.com/news/true-the-vote-interview
Shortly, Dinesh DeSouza's 2000 Mules, a documentary of this election steal, will show you even more convincingly HOW they cheated but more importantly how True the Vote caught them matching the "mules" to the boxes and confirming them with actual drop box video as required by jurisdictions that allowed drop boxes. This cell phone ping technology for tracking people is the SAME technology the feds used to track and pursue J6 suspects, issuing arrest warrants within 72 hours.
Next, I shake my head in disgust at the WEAK people on this thread who still have their panties in a wad over Trump's personality. YOU disgust me. Good luck debating me on Trump's policies, not his personality. You sound like these p*ssies on the Left and RINOS with hurt feelings.
My one beef with Trump is that he listened to RINO McConnell on recommendations (e.g. Romney), staff (e.g. West Wing staff), department appointments (e.g. Wray, Haskel, Sessions/Barr, et al), and SCOTUS nominees (e.g. Kavanaugh & Barrett especially).
My wife, friends, and I publicly stand with President Trump and also couldn't agree more with Steve Bannon and Boris Epshteyn. Most of you could never handle Bannon & Epshteyn before you'd cower in your safe spaces. YOU are why we're where we are today with your silly comments about Trump's lack of support today or ever. You actually believe Real Clear Politics. Why don't you look at Trump's support with Rasmussen and (even more accurate) Trefalgar.
Trump, like Elon Musk, is fighting the culture war. DeSantis, knowing WE Floridians overwhelmingly support him, is showing you what POPULISM looks like through strength just as Trump fought a deeper, wider stench circling (aka Deep State) the globe.
As a Floridian, I couldn't support Governor DeSantis more than I do. By the way, I didn't just flee to Florida. I've lived here FT for 34 years. We in Florida know and value our freedom and aren't afraid of standing up to people like many of you who get your panties in a wad over hurt feelings.
FYI - DeSantis is NOT more popular than Trump. Apparently, too many of you don't pay attention to the myriad times DeSantis has confirmed he will NOT run against Trump.
If I didn't know it before, I can tell how many people have followed Alex from the NYT, closet Democrats whose ox has been gored by the Covidiots. Once you've recovered, you'll return to your Leftist/RINO tendencies.
With your wokeness, I hope like hell you stay out of Florida.
Well said, and that bothers me to no end too, they hate someone's PERSONALITY so much they would never vote for him. How infantile and moronic is that? So you won't vote for a guy who's policies MAY make your life better (because you shouldn't be counting on a politician to make your life better, that's YOUR job) but vote for a jackass who could screw up your life, but he's SO MUCH NICER!!!!! Idiotic.
I won't vote for anyone who isn't saying the shots should be taken off the market and hospitals shouldn't be subsidized for every test, case, vent, remdesivir dose and death. That's the grease that keeps it going and kills lotsa people.
I hear you, but I also know he wouldn't have been okay with vaccine mandates. Biden was. So if it comes to that, it's right to vote for the lesser evil. I am sure many lives would have been saved - vaccine injury deaths and covid deaths both without forced shots.
I don't think we would have a war in Ukraine or Russia testing nuclear missiles. Ukrainian lives would have been saved. To me this is SO clear. There is no way it is a coincidence that Russia made some sort of invasion under three other presidents, but not under Trump. And that North Korea is bragging about their nuclear tests now, but toned down their rhetoric under Trump. He had a knack for tamping back conflict with other countries even while our own media went rabid. How about in the Middle East? We don't have to understand how, but it's clear he did keep war at bay for all his many faults.
Trump's restaurant is enforcing Papers Please at Trump Tower. Many restaurants in NYC aren't.
If you have liked the consequences of the Emergency Order that he signed then he's your man: lockdowns, closed churches, handing power to Fauci, Warp Speed, kids masked and distanced in schools, etc etc.
He's MVP of the nwo. Had Hillary said to mask up and closed churches then conservatives would have gone ape. But they mostly went along becuz Trump was in charge.
I always liked Trump, but I could also see the left's derision. Since they focus on ad hominem attacks, and he always gave them so much opportunity to do just that! He relished giving them material to lambast him with... it was his way of baiting them into ruining their own respectability, and it definitely worked! But he ended up looking like a bully. However, I was always trying to stay out of the theater and look at the facts. Trumps domestic policy was AMAZING for all Americans. On that basis, I loved him and voted for him with GLEE. I was dubious about his foreign policy, especially with regard to getting out of Afghanistan, and with his decision to authorize the killing of General Solemeini (apologies for the spelling). I really didn't care that the rest of the western world laughed at him--he was kicking the legs out from under their stools. But now I'm seeing in hind sight and I'm beginning to be ever more impressed with his policy with regard to Russia/Ukraine, and I'm seeing that it was part of a very big picture understanding of our "interests" in Middle East oil vs Russia/China's competing interesting oil. I'm still not sure I understand the Solemeini thing, but the pieces of the puzzle are coming together and I'm falling in love with his foreign policy now, too. I wish he was less of a cartoon character. If he had the respectability of Ronald Reagan, he'd be a darling. But he's more like a very smart, very determined, totally uncaring, morally grounded, stubborn, 75 year old Alfred E. Newman. With that, I'd say if he runs for prez, he needs to make DeSantis his VP. With that combo, we will see America land back on top both domestically and with regard to our foreign policies too. I would LOVE to see that happen.
Liberals: the president doesn't determine the price of gas. Me: so who is in charge of approving and disapproving drilling permits on federal lands? Liberals: *sour puss face, contemplating* ur racist!!!!
Instead of running on “stolen blah blah blah” maybe he could use the $250 MILLION he’s raised, to go into every state & make sure elections are fair & honest.
Nah, he’d rather whine to Piers Morgan so we have to watch him fight with the press for 4 more years.
Truf! Or maybe he shouldn't have shutdown the nation that gave the Libs the chance to do mail in ballots. Or maybe he should have been in every swing state making sure the elections were fair. Or maybe he should have gone after the tech companies early. So many things he could have done, but instead he did nothing but bitch after.
Do you think his $250 Million is able to counter the $400 Million Zuckerberg's foundation has spent on elections? I personally think it's up to individual communities to expose and fix the election integrity issues (which is happening and great to see). President Trump is mostly playing the cheerleader role.
The middle that swapped up for FJB have realized they would rather mean tweets over systemic corruption, five dollar gas, idiotic energy policy, and world war III. I left out inflation, uh, because that is Trumps shared responsibility too.
While I despise social media's censorship, Trump's increase in favorability is due largely to his absence from Twitter. Don't let those polls fool you, much of the base is quietly waiting to move on. None of us wants to come out and attack Trump and many of us like much of his actual track record. But, he needs to fade away and from where I sit he is doing just that.
DeSantis is the most popular
I think that's possible but I haven't seen national numbers on him. And a third of the country probably still hasn't heard of him.
The redistricting law that just passed which will be signed by DeSantis will help solidify Republican control of Florida.
If DJT becomes Pres again in 2024, he should consistently push DeSantis as a governing role model from his bully pulpit, helping pave the way for a future run from DeSantis with his 'blessing.'
Yes, to have even one state as an example showing the way forward means they cannot get away with the level of evil they intend.
A lot of Floridians do not want DeSantis to go anywhere.
Does FL have gubernatorial term limit? Does any state for that matter? I should probably know this…
California does. Whoopee!
Yes, in Florida it’s two terms.
Bingo!!
I think he is right to decide that...
Trump won in 2020 so he deserves to run in 2024. Then let Desantis get 2 terms - that's 12 years of good stuff.
They will be just as ruthless against DeSantis. They must win at all costs and by any means, and they will seek to CRUSH anyone who comes in their way!
How about 8 years of Desantis after 4 years of Trump?
Trump is a supporter of establishment RINOs. No thanks.
The left will go at a President DeSantis just as hard, if not harder, as they have done to Trump, it will be 24/7 turmoil.
Do you hate Trump because you disagreed with his policies and what he did policy-wise during his presidency?
Lot's of agreement all around on what you say!
The good news is DeSantis is there if needed. He's a hell of an executive. Clearly.
Highly likely scenario: DeSantis serves as Trump's running mate in 2024. Win or lose, he'd still be the heir apparent in 2028 (Since Trump can obviously serve only one term).
Probably the best scenario, but I don't want DeSantis to lose 2 years as Florida governor.
I believe the Pres and Veep have to be residents of different states.
The Twelfth Amendment says:
"The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves."
I think that means that the *Elector* and either the President he votes for, or the Vice President he votes for, or both, cannot be inhabitants of the same state.
So it's an inhabitant comparison between the *Elector* and at least one other person, *not* an inhabitant comparison between POTUS and VPOTUS candidates.
don't believe that is correct
The RePubs won't win if the Donald is on the ticket. He's just turns off Independents, which make up the largest voting block.
I think his wife's health will be a deciding factor for him.
good point!
What’s wrong with Melania’s health?
Nothing. I was talking about Mrs. DeSantis.
DeSantis wife
Right he has more time on his side IF such a thing exists with the puppet at the helm
Biden would have to improve to be called a puppet. First President I've ever seen herded by the Easter Bunny. Appalling.
For my money I'd like to see Great/Good Governors stay as Governors for a few terms. I like him to but we need them to stay in their States.
I hope a broader view takes hold that the fedgov can't get anything done anymore and we return to centering the states as the essence of the nation
My Father told me when I was fairly young, that the big problem is through the Great Depression then WWII the Nation got used to looking to DC for answers and has never gone back to local solutions to local problems. People do not understand that FEMA is not a first responder, the Locals are, as just one example. I so hope we can re-center it all.
convention of states is making a grassroots effort for states to understand exactly this. States have a lot of power and people don't realize that.
I agree, except that I live in a deeply navy blue state.
I'm a life long resident and native of California!!!!! Don't give up hope and never say die!
Same here. Although I don't believe our current governor was elected this last go round either. Too many inconsistencies
[insert flippant "why don't you just leave" comment here]
People don’t understand how crucial this is.
Totally agree!
Very good point.
The first and last time I visited the USA was in 1973, for a working holiday as a British student summer Scout camp volunteer.
I thought it was ruined then, haven't been back, and haven't changed my mind either.
The USA is a basket case.
Media trying to destroy Desantis over covid response for years, and now the Disney groomer campaign is making him a household name.
Desantis will be the VP for Trump ushering in 12 years of Republican rule.
The VP is pointless. Desantis should stay as governor and then run in 28. Let some pointless bureaucrat be VP.
I love her. She's fabulous!!
agreed
Yeah I have little good to say about Pence but he seems like the right sort of person for VP
Nope. Too often vice president is a curse. DeSantis is better off waiting to run on his own.
I think the president and his running-mate have to be from different states.
Thoughts on Tim Scott?
I love Tim Scott.
DeSantis/Tim Scott could be a formidable ticket
Love him! Would make a good candidate or running mate.
With more national exposure, he'd be an excellent candidate. At the very least, a cabinet post, especially Attorney General.
I don't think that's a requirement. It is, however, politically prudent.
It's in the Constitution. But, residency is easily changed.
Yes
that correct!
The third that hasn't heard of him are still wearing masks--over their eyes & ears.
Recognition is not helpful: it tends to lead to the election of ancient politicians who are well past their smell-by date.
Although popularity and name-recognition might have more than semantic differences, I think you’re right..they’re often inextricably linked.
Wanna run for Office in a Democratic People's Republic that has notionally abandoned the Hereditary Principle?
Good luck, then change your name to..
Kennedy
Ghandi
Clinton
Bush
Churchill
etc etc etc ...
Beats me, but it works ..
After the no gay bill I think you're light on your number. That bill had the volume turned up.
“It was the best of times;it was the worst of times” in short,it was a times much like the present…
That “third” of people don’t vote.
I’d like to see this poll among likely voters.
and McConnell, they have? He is like a no body
A good leader makes mistakes, realizes it, learns from them and fixes them.
Trump never did. DeSantis does.
This 💯
Honestly though, I think anyone who graduated from Harvard has had to work hard to throw off much of their indoctrination there if they are any good now.
And his undergraduate degree is from Yale.
DeSantis has my vote.
Amen! Orange man was remarkably good in his first term, but I think he's also too good at energizing his anti-base.
Plus everyone gets old, ever an orange man who draws super-human energy from his opponents' hatred.
But DeSantis will be the president at a future date. He IS the future the US needs.
Why waste time? Let’s make it happen in 2024
His time has not come yet. The base should not be split and weakened.
It's difficult to dispute this point. :-(
But said he won’t run. MAGA is a movement that won’t end. Trump 2024..
DeSantis/Noem 2024
Noem is finished in Republican national politics after her disastrous veto of the women's sports protection bill and deplorable attempts to deflect criticism.
Yes and her "companies can require you to vaxx up but hey you can leave so aren't free markets great" statement was also a disaster. The Chamber of Commerce convinces her to say these stupid things and she clearly lacks the judgment to push back.
Having said that, she looks good on a horse
Finished? Rumors of her demise are greatly exaggerated.
No, they're not.
Yes, they are.
I'd prefer to see neither Noem nor Noam Chomsky on any ballot.
DeSantis should get an endorsement from Trump
assuming T does not run
DeSantis has been tremendous but if he were a true threat to putting the brakes on the nwo Great Reset he would be a marked man. Don't put much faith and trust in politicians. They let you down 99.99999% of the time (c19 survival rate).
Perhaps he is or is yet to be a marked man by the entities you mention?
Interesting...you must have insight I do not
Trump's base doesn't trust any established politician.
Desantis has a name recognition problem. People not in Florida who don't follow politics don't know who he is.
Lots of time between now and 24 and his reputation is stellar. As a movie past once said' if you build it he will come" :) I believe WORD of DeSantis and what he has done and is doing would reach every nook and cranny in the USA and fast!
LOL, DeathSantis. Now say "Drumpf." C'mon, say it for me, pleeeeze? I love the old-timey talk. Can I get a selfie holding your PBS tote bag?
Lol. You're not real.
As Osama bin Laden didn't kill any American, your statement has no value. Did osama's men really manage to destroy 3 skyscrapers with 2 planes? Even a 5 year old child wouldn't buy that story if it wasn't for all the propaganda. Yet you do.
Show your data!
No, no, even better, read his "substack" with one post. It totally sounds like a "Trump Republican" wrote it!
Greetings, fellow conservatives! Let's hang us some n-words!
Yes! Argentina leads in magnesium! A woman is tall! Free bananas for early adopters! Greenland! Greenland!
Those who died from said whu-flu and those who died with said whu-flu?
sources?
False. I’m in AZ and I know damn well who he is. And I don’t even watch Fox News.
Formidable and the "real deal" in showing what a public "we the people" paid servant should do!
Trump with Jr. as his running mate. Double the Donald for the same price.
https://www.gbforussenate.net/#/
LOL
Not among Republicans. Not even close.
I mean, it was stolen.
YES! It's so beyond obvious and shoved in our faces because they knew they could get away with it.
Don't you believe in coincidence [sarcasm alert]?
To execute the very plan to which we bear witness today - the destruction of our country. Nefarious from the start.
it is obvious. Everyone knows it, too many just will not admit it. Like stealing cookies from the cookie jar right there in front of mommy. They just keep going on about how this was the most "fair election crap, and racist and shut up not true"
We know it.
They know it.
They know that we know it.
And we know that they know that we know it .
There are a lot of stupid people in the USA. Also known as Liberals, Progressives, and Democrats.
And they know
that we know
that they know
that we know it
and they don't care because no one will do anything about it.
Ain't that the truth
Lots of 110 year old blacks voted, even those with death certificates on file.
Edit: Meanwhile, Trump's % of black votes actually increased from 2016-2020. Wrap your head around that!
Exactly.
https://simulationcommander.substack.com/p/now-that-were-done-pretending-hunters
Bingo! It would explain a lot because there's no way a sane person/people with the best intentions of this country would be making these decisions.
You're too kind.
Don't be silly Texas Chris, the dems just have a messaging problem. /msm
Stick to COVID statistics, PLEASE!!
agree totally
Alex is a useful idiot who served his purpose well- as his popularity with conservatives wanes he will be back on CNN pandering to his Neighbors in NYC- i come here for the comments which are always more informative then his blabbering
Alex is a great resource and put his career and reputation on the line. I would hesitate to be hyper critical of someone who fights for truth. We don't have to agree on everything.
Alex is reporting poll numbers.
Seems so clear, but the fog of the Trump Cult is possessing their minds. Add Graham, Romney etc. etc.
There are those, like Daniel Horowitz, who think the Federal government is lost and that the States need to step up and regain their original role.
My ideal is Cruz as president and DeSantis remains as the model for what a great governor is like.
Cruz calling the Jan. 6th protesters terrorists excludes him from any consideration. IMO
IMO.
Covid renewed my love for federalism and states' rights.
I agree!
So many liberal plants pretending to be America First conservatives here. Not buying what you’re selling.
Anyone who liked Trump's enacted policies is a Leftist, pure and simple.
Here's a clue Steve, I'm criticizing Trump from the right. If you can't see that, I can't help you.
Haha this was perfect. Great joke.
You forgot the /sarc tag Steve.
Plus, Trump's primary policies on the border, budget, and healthcare, were just awful. Yes, his energy policies were good (though immediately overturned by Biden), and yes, his stance on Israel was decent.
But we're living in a failed world that Trump promised to address but only made significantly worse.
His border policies were excellent. Look at the results. Congress needs to address so the next guy can’t change.
Ah, the canard that he "couldn't get the funds".
Wrong.
Nailed it!
His SCOTUS picks will be his most meaningful actions, over time.
This is a valid criticism for sure. His two picks are John Roberts clones.
How do these dummies not see that? Seriously, ACB and Kavanaugh are not conservative.
Time will tell. The pundits claim there is a 6-3 conservative majority. But, look at Roberts on Obamacare and other major decisions.
If Democrats had gone to sleep on Election Day night with Joe Biden winning, only to wake up to four states flipping in the middle of the night to make Trump the winner, they would have been totally cool about it and said, "hey, that's democracy for you." I'm almost positive.
Ha ha! Great thought experiment!
This! Short circuit is the only thing I can think to explain it.
these numbers are off. Biden is not at 42% and harris at 39%? that is crazy too high.
yeah other than those boxes of unmaked ballots they found in that biker's backpack, or was it the trunk of a car. either way. Newsom panicked and pulled out all the mail-in voter fraud stops. he would have probably won anyway but not by that much
CNN+ expired with a quiet soft fart whimper, rather than an explosion.
Explosions at CNN come mainly from their head legal analyst.
This made me laugh!
More CNN humor. NSFW! https://youtu.be/4Qqendp1kLE
😂😂 haha lolll
Alex does have a total blind spot when it comes to Trump, the stolen 2020 election and the effecting HCQ and ivermectin. There are so many in-depth we’ll documented accounts of Zuckerberg dollars, ballot harvesting, drop boxes, etc that he refuses to acknowledge. Trump, with all his faults, was the best thing that happened in 2016. It woke people up. DeSantis is probably great too but doesn’t have name recognition and won’t run against Trump.
Don’t forget that Time magazine piece shortly after the election that exposed in exquisite detail how the Democrats won.
Yes, the famous “election fortification” article.
Do you by any chance have a link to it? I lost track of of it. And searches are often ineffective for anything big tech isn't eager for us to focus on.

Thank you, found it! Yes, it does look like subscribing is necessary. Here's a decent size excerpt for anyone interested:

Guess people are finally figuring out how good they had it and buyer's remorse is hard to live with.
Also vote switching during the tally process by voting machine software. A tally should never decrement and yet... https://rumble.com/vcept5-the-data-integrity-group-at-the-georgia-hearing-on-election-issues.html
I think in Georgia and Pensylvania (swing states), it was enough to change the outcome.
Spot on. Good stuff! And I bet we agree on a lot.
Wow! You nailed this. I can't understand why more conservatives don't take Trump to task on his horrible decisions and lack of principal. Cheers!
Berenson, musk, rogan-heck even tucker! The truth shall set us free!!!🇺🇸
Elephant in the room: DeSantis. Trump needs to back away and become the elder stateman (doubt his pride will allow him to do so) and throw all of his support behind DeSantis.
Doesn't matter if he does the liberals will just hate DeSantis as much as they hate trump.
Indeed. I believe you are correct.
They will hate any GOP nominee as much as Trump. That's why Trump's 'divisiveness' is irrelevant.
Those people will be convinced that GOP nominee 2024 is literally Hitler anyway.
have a little faith! The media narrative is falling apart, left and right!
This!
I don't believe the polls, not possible Biden is that high.
Trump’s greatest accomplishment was to expose the advanced state of rot our country is in.
That's like discovering sores on your wiener and then doing nothing. He did nothing.
You must have missed the part where Hillary & Co branded him as a Russian agent and got half the country to believe it. Does the name Mueller ring a bell?
Two impeachment shams?
Basically, our corrupt system rejected him like a diseased body might reject a healthy transplanted organ.
Yawn.
Everybody who voted for Trump because he promised to “drain the swamp”, apparently wanted Trump to drain the swamp. Funny how that works.
They didn’t vote for him to make it even more obvious how corrupt DC was.
Sadly, some today still buy his grift.
There were too many, to the point I don't want to take the time to recount them here, but that is a big one.
Ivanka and Jared were disasters too.
Abraham Accords ring a bell?
Did that require the POTUS' daughter or son-in-law to be accomplished? Hard to believe that is so. I'm sorry - if Chelsea Clinton or the like were in similar paid WH roles, with no experience, I'd be furious.
Nobody else had managed it, and I don't really care who it was that DID manage it, only that it was done.
Jared was instrumental in the Abraham Accords.
That's not what I said. Read it again so I don't have to repeat myself.
Nope, Trump didn't shut schools or churches. He correctly left those decisions up to the States.
Had Trump not shutdown the nation, the governors and mayors would not have been emboldened. I will never forgive Trump for shutting down this country and classifying some jobs as "essential" and some as "non-essential." Unforgivable.
Trump never shutdown the nation. You're completely trying to rewrite history.
All of that shit was done by governors and mayors, none of it by Trump. We lived through it, dude.
2 weeks to slow the curve!!!!
Please just stop.
Trump declared a state of emergency. That gave the feds, and by extension, the state governors, unprecedented powers.
https://www.ncsl.org/ncsl-in-dc/publications-and-resources/president-trump-declares-state-of-emergency-for-covid-19.aspx
America is designed for governors and mayors to have local power where the President doesn't. Do you even Constitution?
Go ahead and point me to what "Trump did" that shut down red states.
2 weeks to slow the curve was the beginning of the total fascist takeover of the country. That was Trump. He gave every state a way to take as much power as they chose.
That's bullshit. He didn't bring Atlas on until later, and Atlas was the one he listened to after that.
Given the circumstances, I think he did a great job. Of course nobody but me gives a fuck about what I think.
August! Disregarded every single thing Atlas recommended. Atlas had to leave.
Pushed the vaccines, still pushing the vaccines. Long-term what did Trump do?
Rhetorical question Rob.
Trump-DeSantis is the ticket. Then Trump resigns after 2 years. Loved "Doncha wish your bf was hot like me."
DeSantis-Trump. The children of a Vice President can’t ruin the country like they can if their father is president.
Win-win.
Where does Ron DeSantis fit into the favorability ratings? I hear he is also thinking of running which would explain why Trump (who green-lighted and pushed the disastrous Warp Speed agenda) is sniping at him.
Berenson and Musk are more popular they have more than enough secured funds to take over Twitter right now today.
They?
Yes, all in dead Presidents.
They're effing appealing the TSA mask mandate! They NEVER give up
The left needs trump. Cnn+ wants this to happen to be honest Alex. Without trump around to point to and take all of the focus away, the left has been exposed for the clown car that they are. They prefer to drive that clown car behind trumps boisterous bus so no one can see what they are up to.
ok, but the RealClearPoint is they are alllllll underwater...
Biden even at 42% favorable is horrific. It just shows there is a country full of low information voters.
He will NEVER do this. Lol.
How about Rick Scott for Senate Majority leader?
Thoughts?
Not getting my vote unless he backs off on the mRNA injections and the fake covid narrative. I voted for him the last 2 times, but he needs to wake up a bit.
He didn't mention the poison vax during his last two rallies. I think he's gotten the point.
I doubt this. Trump has consistently said that he's the "father" of the vax. He has not repented of his position but has simply not promoted the vax of late. Operation Warp Speed and his promotion of it was just used in an ad campaign on YouTube which he hasn't disavowed.
Trump repent? About any transgression on his part? Hahahahahaha...we'll never get him to own up to the totally fucked up vax.
Nobody is perfect.
I used to like W. Dude is a cunt. He tried to undermine Trump at every turn. W is a total swamp creature. 100%.
Idiotic.
There’s no way 42% of Americans approve of Biden. No way.
Correction: El Hombre ANARANJADO. The use of English is still permitted... ;)
Desantis 2024!
I think the fuse on CNN+ fizzled out before the explosion could even take place.
Oh, dear! Chris Wallace is out of a job again.
5 States shut down the vote count at 10pm with Trump significantly ahead of Biden but magically at 5am Biden takes the lead with no questions asked ?
Possible ........Yes..........crooked happenings......you bet.
Facebook Mark spent $410 Million for Dem ops to take over voting districts to...........
But a man who can't chew gum and walk at the same time pulled in 20 Million more votes than Jesus's brother Barack Hussein Obama...........right.
Nothing to see here, move along.
Trump is using his pull to keep the deplorables engaged which is good and I love that he won't quit antagonizing the Left.
DeSantis will win in 2024.
Trump will win in '24. Vice President DeSantis in '28 and again in '32.
Fine with me :-)
Instead of running on “stolen blah blah blah” maybe he could use the $250 MILLION he’s raised, to go into every state & make sure elections are fair & honest.
Nah, he’d rather whine to Piers Morgan so we have to watch him fight with the press for 4 more years.
Yay.
Yup. I voted for him twice. I’ll vote for him again.
He did some really good things, but he failed on the big ones and he will again.
Do you think his $250 Million is able to counter the $400 Million Zuckerberg's foundation has spent on elections? I personally think it's up to individual communities to expose and fix the election integrity issues (which is happening and great to see). President Trump is mostly playing the cheerleader role.
Democrats went into every state & used lawyers to do their dirty work.
Besides grift, what did Trump use the $250M for?
It appears 111 attorneys in 26 states fought for President Trump after Election Day 2020. Now their livelihoods are being threatened: https://www.axios.com/trump-election-lawyers-disbar-5c2b9252-d15d-495f-a759-2446d9fa62e8.html.
The middle that swapped up for FJB have realized they would rather mean tweets over systemic corruption, five dollar gas, idiotic energy policy, and world war III. I left out inflation, uh, because that is Trumps shared responsibility too.
FJB has sent out quite a few mean tweets as well.
Yeah. He wished us all a winter of severe illness and death. That was cold hearted.
Yeah, right. We'll see about that.
The Democrats will certainly try to prevent it since he is their only hope for 2024
