Lifelong Democrat. Contributed to Warren. They are losing many of us. Frightening behavior.

The process that I went through after 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan/Iraq (Republicans), and the process I've gone through with this Covid masks/lockdowns/vaccine mandates drama (Democrats) are nearly identical. First, concern and patriotism. Second, questioning. Then I go down the path of total skepticism. It's all such a load of BS.

This is not about political parties. It's all about power and money. Neither of these global-scale lies would happen without cooperation between the Republicans and Democrats. It's the Elites taking care of each other.

Expand full comment

Skepticism is now my reaction to any messaging coming from the federal government.

And loathing.

Republican want to drag this vaccine mandate BS out until the midterms. In the meantime, people will be losing their jobs and healthcare in the middle of a “deadly pandemic.”

Craig, I have been a vocal libertarian most of my adult life. I still am. I mentioned on a different thread that the only time I have ever voted for a major party candidate was 2008 and 2012 when Ron Paul was on the ballot in the Republican primaries. I will still support libertarian candidates financially, but in 2022 I don't see any way around voting for major party candidates that oppose this blatant authoritarianism. Believe me, I will be holding my nose while I do it. Maybe that makes me a sellout and I will own that.

So totally wish Rand Paul would run for President next time around. I think his chances would actually improve this time around.

Expand full comment

If Rand somehow got the GOP nomination, I would totally vote for him for president.

I wouldn’t say it makes you a sellout, not at all. Ron Paul himself worked mostly within the GOP.

However, if you are interested in the Ron Paul Revolution 2.0, this is where it is happening:

In the next fight, no one can afford to throw a vote down the crapper. The libertarian party is a nice idea but will suction votes away from the better party of the two dinosaurs we now have.

I’ve never voted in my life. I’m not democrat and not republican. I’ve read this sentiment in quite a few comments on this substack. I believe you are correct. The time has come.

Unfortunately, verrrry true

Expand full comment

So true. It is the Elites covering for each other, just keep in mind that both Democrats and Republicans in office voted for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, including both of our past and current Democrat Presidents. Love the "united front" from all of them on display on 9/11: It's a great big cluster. Covid-control is a whole new level. At least we aren't Australia - yet.

Glad you are here. We are all on the same side fighting the same enemies.

In 2016, I would have voted for Warren if they had run her rather than Hillary. I'm glad Trump got in. It's opened my eyes about her. I thought she had some integrity, but nope.

Expand full comment

Say what you want about Donald Trump, but he did save us from a disastrous Hillary Presidency along with pulling the curtain back and exposing the media and politicians for the frauds that they are.

I never followed politics before Trump. Now I can’t get enough of it. Citizens are now more engaged now in what is happening, which is a good thing.

Expand full comment

Donald Trump, in my opinion, was the first President to actually hold the US to a higher standard and attempt to bring it back to it's further strength and power. That's exactly why the left was so 'afraid' of him. Fear is what it was. He was so close to achieving many positive goals for this Country. Build a wall, Biden stops it, Pipeline for less oil dependency, Biden stops it and so on and so on...

Expand full comment

Add Romney to that list.

Expand full comment

Actually, I never did think Romney had any integrity, but I've always tended to vote for more Democrats than Republicans. He struck me as a spoiled rich kid, just bigger. And then there was his wife writing off all her horse expenses as MS therapy. You try that and see what happens to you.

Same here. I will never vote for anyone in favor of censorship, mandates or any such ideas. Never.

Except, Joementia lied and said he was against mandates. Until he was for them. It makes you wonder how much of this is to obfuscate for the Afghanistan debacle.

I appreciate your open mind.

Expand full comment

Absolutely. This isn't partisan. In this situation, no one is safe. Eventually they come for everyone. Censorship works both ways and no one should be censored. What is so frustrating here is what is happening to classical liberals at the hands of tyrannical progressives. Nobody is safe.

glad this has woken you from your slumber. Tbh, at the top, federal level, 'republican' leaders are huge traitors and are on the same team as their dem 'enemies', but at least at lower levels 'republicans' are actually much more tolerant and supportive of liberty and freedom. Mind you, some of it is from a bible standpoint, so it can take some adjustment to fully grasp thing like the fact that abortion is a eugenic movement aimed at dark people. Fundamentally right now too many Christians and Jews have replaced trust in G-d and biblical tenets with a blind adherence to the lies and superstitions of the cdc. Everyone with a solid grounding in biblical values could see through these lies very quickly.

100,000 people packing stadiums on the weekends, Southern border wide open, unvaccinated people from other countries flooding our cities, politicians wearing masks outside when the cameras are rolling. The rich and powerful attending events unmasked with no social distancing.

in general, you're not allowed to tell the cdc loyalists that the average age of death is 80 and it has 99.7% survival rate. There is no deadly pandemic and never was, which is why all of these nazified karens have no problem going to costco, target, etc. They love to hate others now that the government has told them it is ok to do so, even as they run errands that NO ONE would actually run if there was a deadly pandemic going on.

I hope you’re right…here in Canada we are less than a week from an election and Trudeau is doubling down hard on ‘us vs them’ rhetoric regarding v’d and unv’d and proposing serious mandates against the unv’d…and the one party that is absolutely against mandates and passports is rising in the polls but ignored in media or treated like alt right…and supporters are basically called deplorables by media. It’s very fraught here!

Expand full comment

I voted last night-- wow have they made it difficult. I agree with your comments. My strategy is to create a wrench in the system, cause disruption which means for me voting Conservative (Carolyn Bennetts riding) It will take the new party at least a year or more to get its act together to start to govern-- especially now with digital everything. They also have a Christian religious wing that will NOT put up with mandatory vaccine etc.-- and they provide LOTS of money. So given they have a better chance than the PPC-- I voted for them. Disruption, ungovernable (ie asking questions and standing up-- Cdn. version) is the best we can do right now.

The NDP who I typically support have joined forces with Trudeau. I know this. That is why he is even more than usual campaigning from the left. I have had 3 visits by the NDP asking why I am not giving money or supporting and I tell them the same thing every time-- human rights are not being respected (bloody ironic for them!!) our Charter of Rights and Freedoms violated and the leader Jagmeet Singh sees no problem with overriding them to mandate an experimental medical procedure. Yes a Sikh! The religion we fought hard for their rights to carry the Kirpan and wear a turban everywhere. How soon they forget, especially if it to protect our basic rights --mobility, speech etc.

Expand full comment

I used to live in that riding - that would be great to get Cons in there! I agree PPC has ways to go and zero chance esp in my riding which is liberal but looking like ndp will get in, but this time I voted my conscience as I know it won’t make significant difference where I live. First time for me too! If you told me a year and a half ago I’d be voting this way I would have thought you (or I) were crazy!

I hear police are coming out supporting you there. Is this true? The side with the most guns wins. Each nation is setting up for a civil war.

Expand full comment

Yes in a way, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Toronto Police refused to pull over drivers to ask them where they are going during one of our many lockdowns earlier this year. Its not their job. Many have joined law suits to protest mandatory vaccination.

Expand full comment

Some individual police are supportive but it’s hard to say beyond that. According to polls most Canadians are in favour of mandates and passports but the reality could be very different and no one reports on what truth might be. Election will tell us.

Expand full comment

Disagree Sarah. There are many who are supportive (cops in my family.). Polls had Trudeau winning a majority last time and Hilary becoming president. No one really listens to them anymore. I used to be an Economist and did polling and forecasting. The models can be manipulated easily. Eg. Imperial College predicted tens of millions of death from COVID in 2020. Ferguson's model has been roundly ridiculed (google it) since.

Given what I saw last night while voting and what Elections Canada has already said this week, I am not sure if the Election will tell us and if it will be legit. Telling us it will take 5 days after the election before we get results sounds suspect. Mail in ballots and advance polling (what I did last night) has always happened, why the delay now? More people? well they should have anticipated that given COVID.

Tell Your Chikdren is essential reading. I've known a lot of people who live semi-dysfunctional lives as a result of marijuana addiction. I have never thought it was as benign as the conventional wisdom now suggests.

Expand full comment

And now I know people taking medical marijuana who were once able to hold a conversation and now are unreachable. I know of several well to do moms who went to a dispensary in Colorado while chaperoning a high school field trip. Three of them ended up in the ER, one got to spend the night. Marijuana has been bred into a potent neurotoxin. And the tobacco industry is positioning to get behind its distribution once it's legalized everywhere.

Expand full comment

About seven years ago my family did back-to-back ski trips: the first in Austria (where my husband is from), the second in Colorado. The difference between the coherence, friendliness and intelligence between the Austrian staff and the staff in Colorado was so depressing. The impact of marijuana was apparent amongst 70-80 percent of people working in ski shops, restaurants etc.

Expand full comment

That's so utterly depressing. And good to know. The bottling plant in my city has trouble finding drivers who can pass a urine test clear of THC. Royal Farms has started accepting applicants for jobs who "pee hot" for THC. Then combine marijuana say, Xanax and you can get some paradoxically aggressive behavior on the roads. Marijuana blunts intellect.. As if the US needed anymore of that.

Same here - I read it a year after seeing a Netflix "documentary" on how 'innocent' pot is. That documentary made me feel I had been foolish to think so badly of pot all those years. Then I saw a neighbor's high school son's life nearly ruined by it. Wondered, Hmmm? What's the truth? Found Alex's book and was brought back to reality - fully sourced (I loved that I found the old news articles in Mexican newspapers he cited.) I have followed Alex Berenson ever since. And keeping a list of other honest investigative reporters too.

I always smelt a rat with the pot lobby because, as a college student in the 70s I noted the dumbest people I knew were the daily users. I got into a debate about whether Jello exhibits cleavage (crystal cleavage..I was at a materials science college) with a girl who was a heavy user. "Sure it has cleavage" she said.."Just look, it's square there in the bowl". That was my first object lesson. Then what followed were years of observation of what people's lives amounted to after years of THC. This could turn into a worse national tragedy than opioids. Terminal stupidity.
