Thank you Alex. I bought it and gave it to two people who are very special to me, but who completely bought into the hysteria since the beginning. Their lives became very small. Their health declined. Their social interactions were extremely limited. I never thought I could change their way of thinking, after repeated attempts. But your book opened their eyes. They no longer hide in fear. They are elderly. But they weren’t spending the time they have left, living. Now they’re free. And you freed them. They are happy. They are thriving. Again, thank you.

You are very lucky they "saw the light." I want to give Alex's excellent book to one of my adult kids (30's) who is reacting in a similar way, but think he may get very angry at me.

Expand full comment

I wrote a loving note in the front of the book to soften their response. And believe me, the first week they were very down on the book. Making negative comments. But something switched. By the end of the book, the scales had fallen from their eyes. I’m also in my 30’s. I say give it to your kid. They might just surprise you. I had no hope of this working, as they were so set in their beliefs. But the data is very hard to refute. Reasonable people will come to the right conclusions.

Wow that is spot on. And exactly how it happened, as my Godfather was the first to come around. Took my Godmother a bit longer.

Give it to them anyway. They might initially be angry, but after reading the book, they might thank you! And if not, well, too bad for them. You will have done the right thing.

Hopefully they will still be angry, but they will direct the anger at the proper targets.

You are so right. And I read your substack yesterday. But fear overrides our ability to think rationally. Your substack made me laugh, since as kids we were basically forced to watch my mom’s favorite shows. Matlock, Colombo, and Monk among them. In fact, my mom calls me “Monk” as a nickname. I sent it to her and she got a kick out of that :).

Thanks for writing that, sir!

One example: this morning on WNPR Brian Lehrer had a segment on scarcity of goods and inflation. A contractor called in and said that two of his workers had serious medical emergencies after getting the "vaccines". This was my email to his NPR program yesterday:

I'm totally disgusted with your joining the calls for censorship and curating of news! You have had callers questioning the official narratives with regard to covid and the vaccines also attempts to kill reasoned debate with leading experts such as Dr. Malone and Dr. McCullough who were on Joe Rogan's show.

You are purveyors of false information. The US has had the largest covid toll as a result of bad medical direction from the CDC and NIH who advised people to stay at home until they got sick enough to go to the hospital.

Brian Lehrer and your other people are cowering before official propaganda. Your people have become like zombies and robots parroting official censorship and lies. You are cowards living in fear of your corporate donors of which the Gates foundation is a major one.

Lies, lies and more lies, that is about the only product of the real journalism you used to do.

So Alex, I do love reading your blog, and an reading the book, but saying that 1850 reviews 'can't be wrong' as incentive to buy? We all know that the wisdom of crowds isn't always, and that just because 'everyone' is doing or saying it doesn't mean it's right.

This is not to discourage anyone from getting and reading what is a fascinating review of our recent history! Just to say that appealing to the correctness of crowds might not be the best selling point for educated consumers!

Expand full comment

Yup. Also appreciate Alex's research and reporting, but he's using an old commercial tactic here. It plays on the herd instinct.

You see this a lot on Twitter, "Hurr durrr....says the person with (insert small number of followers here).

You see this with Jimmy Dore, who I like, who is constantly referring to Twitter "ratios".

A lot of this just boils down to:

An Appeal To The Masses is one of the laziest, weak minded, and philosophically revealing fallacies one can engage in. In short, this is the form of such an argument:

Conclusion X is true because everyone (or a majority of people) believes it.

That’s all there is to it. It simply asks you to believe a conclusion because everyone else does.

Expand full comment

Not everyone. Just a certain number of people. But you're correct: The game that Alex is playing here is dangerous, because there are many, many more Americans who believe the government propaganda than the truths that Alex reports.

Expand full comment

Sure. Just a general primer as to the intent of the appeal, "everyone". i.e. "Everyone says so!"

Probably, as it more precisely plays out in a fractured world, "everyone" means: an accepted narrative that a tribe that one wants to affiliate with believes this.

"Everyone who IS someone."

Yes, I really do think about these types of things, ha!

If you think you have gotten the lowdown from all the blogs and podcasts on Telegram, Signal, and Rumble, you are sorely mistaken. Alex Berenson in Pandemia lays out a history, complete with source material (numbered and listed in the back of the book) that weaves a brilliant and believable explanation of how in the world all of this insanity occurred and is hanging on refusing to give up.

The best new book I've read in 5-6 years or so. I reserved a copy in August--even though it didn't come out until November 30th. It was worth the wait and I tell everyone I know how important and thoroughly researched it is. When you tell people it's got 59 pages of footnotes linking to the sources (much of it from the publishings of the very organizations now screaming "misinformation"), they do a double take.

Did Malone really just call Rogan a hack on War Room? Just a blurb I saw on Twitter; don't know if it's true. If so, what's up with that????

Look, to me, there is just "something" about Malone that just rings a bit false -- it's like he's always playing the "secret agent I-know-too-much-guy." It was sort of interesting to see one of the other participants in the Johnson Hearings correct him.

Today's Wall St journal (2/2/22) ran a very interesting, and I think, fair, analysis of the Rogan/Spotify situation. Give it a read! BTW, I own a hardcover copy of Pandemia.

"both sides" What a joke.

First of all, there are more than TWO sides to any complex scientific debate.

And as one of my insightful commenters pointed out, Rogan could spend the rest of eternity presenting the "other" side of the debate, (again, an utterly simplistic and foolish reductionist framing), and not "balance" out the MSM/Corp. media's side.

"YES SPOTIFY AND JOE JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT PFIZER AND BIG PHARM'S SIDE OF THINGS! I LIKE THAT. THANK YOU, JOE ROGAN AND SPOTIFY. WHERE ELSE COULD I POSSIBLY FIND OUT THAT THE VACCINES ARE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE?"

Hey Alex, i did buy your book hardcover and just finished reading it. I'm all the way down in Auckland NZ. Firstly wanted to say thanks for not ignoring NZ like most do (well its a tiny nation so who cares?) as we have an extraordinary situation here, and possibly now the last CV naïve population on earth. Its all about to change despite the new wave of insane policies, which i'm sure you're aware of! Secondly, what a great record to have (which is why i buy physical print copies for my children to read and reference in the future) of the events as they unfolded, and thanks so much for risking so much for many millions of people to have a source of truth.

My only request/suggestion is that now we need you to take a look at the "why". I think your writing does a great job of the what and the who, but I feel like you've maybe avoided the why, for fear of being labelled the dreaded "conspiracy theorist". To be honest, I think this is why perhaps some of your expectations and predictions (as you readily admit to) have been wrong, where perhaps you've assumed the best in people. IMHO you must get to the why, the motivations driving decisions to be able to predict the near term, and out maneuver them. What is their strategy and why? I am not a writer at all, but I have run my own, and led some significant businesses (in NZ at least) and it feels a little like the board report. Reporting the data is great and super important. without it poor decisions get made. But to build a plan and strategy and out-compete, you need to understand the why.

All the best, with utmost respect

W.D.R

Let me put in a plug for this book. It's one of the best written books I've ever read. It's the rare type of book that is so well written that even if you had nearly zero interest in pandemics or Covid, you would enjoy reading it. The reasoning is sharp and incisive, and the writing itself is beautiful and totally cogent. Nietzsche wrote: "At every step, one has to wrestle for truth . . . The service of truth is the hardest service." Read this book to learn the truth about Covid and to be able to recognize all the lies and deceptions we have been fed by people, who in the final analysis, are evil, power-hungry Little Hitlers.
