Lifelong NJ Democrat here…will be voting R tomorrow for the first time in decades

Expand full comment

I was red pilled back in 2008. Prior to that I was a life-long Democrat.

Expand full comment

the real red pill is when u realize that both parties are equally evil. two wings of the same bird, controlled by the same oligarchy. its the classic "good cop / bad cop" routine. divide and conquer. the difference between R and D is purely cosmetic, the difference between them are "wedge issues" for a reason, they are designed to separate us.

Expand full comment

They are both evil parties, but there are good men in the GOP, none in the Democrat Party. DeSantis stood up to this fascism, and that forced Abbott to follow suit. If we could convince GOP voters to face the fact that Trump cut corners and put out a poisoned "vax," maybe we could save the party, and the country.

Expand full comment

As a life-long "leans Democrat," I agree. I will vote for NO Democrats. I vote 3rd party if there's one on the ballot.

Expand full comment

Yes! So frustrating that 'Trump Is God' supporters cannot see the forest for the trees. They don't even get that they are as bad as the "useful idiots" on the left supporting their policies no matter what, supporting the poisonous vax no matter what... grrrrrr. Can't he be like Alex and realize it was a mistake and immediately correct it?!

(I bet you a $100 that someone is going to post a defense of Trump on this.... wait for it... )

Concur. Trump did many very good things - Middle East, NATO payments, trade balancing, borders, taxes. He did some of them a bit clumsily but not nearly so badly as the media portrayed. However he screwed the pooch on quite a bit also. Everything he did after February on the Corona virus was horrible. He should have kept the federal government open. Period. He should have mandated that any state medical association that threatened doctors' licenses for prescribing hydroxychloroquin or ivermectin would be immediately disbanded and the officers prosecuted federally. He should have controlled the CDC and NIH and fired Fauci on the mask lie immediately. And, he should not have put all his political capital into a "vaccine" that isn't. Trump did some good things but ultimately he did not drain the swamp and he totally failed on COVID. I guess I don't win the $100.

Expand full comment

I think he was advised to go pro Vaccine because not doing so would have meant and easy victory for Biden.

Expand full comment

Yes, he did many good things and he has my vote if he runs in 2024.

Expand full comment

Remember those projections of death the CDC and Fauci came up with if we didn't institute lockdowns and all the other procedures. I think they scared Trump with the possibility of millions of people dying, or at least facing the political blowback from that scare tactic. He didn't realize how corrupt the CDC was, and how in cahoots with the vaccine industry it was.

Expand full comment

In fairness, Trump himself got booed at a rally for saying people should take the vax. Anti-Covid death shot Trump supporters were/are not swayed by his opinion on it.

Expand full comment

Trump said vaccine was saving the country and frankly the world. At 7.1 billion worldwide but only 425 million in US he's mostly half right...or right about US going warp.speed.until April and the rest.of.world after April

I was a lifelong Democrat until the second term of Obama. I could not bring myself to vote for him again after all the division and racial tensions he had incited. I voted for Mitt Romney even though I was not convinced he was strong enough to bring us back from the abyss that Obama had created. I was not on the Trump train from the get go, but he won me over with his brushness and take no prisoners attitude. Obama was a fake and he was real. The country needed an outsider, so I voted for him and I really think that if he was President right now, he would listen to the people and shut down the vax operation. He underestimated the level of evil and greed that exists in big pharma and their government acolytes that facilitate approvals of their killer drugs. The Dems have used the vaccine as a weapon against us because they are all about power over the people. I believe Trump is a good man, and if he runs in 2024, he has my vote. I believe this time, he will not be hindered by a Democrat majority bent on destroying him, so watch out world, we will finally see what the real Donald Trump can do!

Expand full comment

NOT DEFENDING TRUMP!!! I didn't vote for Trump2016, I wrote in someone OTHER THAN Hillary. He ran the finances in the US well enough to not be bothered that he won. This last go around I only voted for Trump bc biden is incompetent. Sadly biden will take us down, as the world watches and laughs. I was NEVER a Trump fan, never will be. But when THATS the best the Republicans field as a candidate, what do we do? This whole thing sucks, but we wouldve been better off with Trump in office...(cringe) Time for the Republicans to get their party in order, the USA's existence depends on balance between these two groups, and right now, thats not happening.

side note, why do Democrats seem so VENGEFUL? am I imagining this?

Expand full comment

Of course we would have been better with Trump in office. I don’t get all these people on here acting like Trump was anything less than a kick ass POTUS. He fought for energy independence, fair trade, lower taxes etc…. Yeah a few things with Covid could have been handled differently but put yourself in that position with a new virus running rampant and trying to find balance between protecting Americans and not over reacting like the Dems are doing. What needs to happen is Millions of Americans need to get pissed off and say enough is enough with the Lefts woke bullshit. Giving 2000 a month for life to Afghan migrators and $450,000 to illegals that were separated at the border should have tax paying citizens on the verge of storming DC and yes overthrowing the individuals responsible for all of the policies that are weakening our once great country. Our side needs to fight back like our lives depend on it bc they do. Our side is weak without a backbone and we need loud voices unafraid of what will happen when we stand for what is fair and honest. We need a major reset on our country’s finances. Enough with all the programs that pander for votes. Trump was the best thing we have had going in the last 40 years. And anyone who can not see that needs to unplug your TV and radios and get back to the basics of our constitution. Did he speak his mind and have mean tweets at times. Uh I guess if you

Can’t handle free speech but if people can’t see the larger plan the globalist have for destroying our country then you are beyond help. Stop giving in to the demands of mentally deranged left and the go along to get along right. If we don’t fight now at every turn there will be nothing left to fight for.

I hate to bust your bubble, but the game is rigged. The Powers That Be decide who will be on the ballot, by hook or by crook. We get too choose either Master Evil or Master Less Evil...but still evil.

Expand full comment

Do not spend a lot of time knocking down straw men. There are many tens of millions of Trump-is-better-than-the-ballot-alternative voters who would gladly vote for someone who is more substance and less bluster. Trump is...better than Clinton and Biden. Of that I feel certain. But, there are much, much more qualified people in our nation.

The data on the vaccine is a order of magnitude reduction in severe outcome....pick a state or country and this weekend I can normalize population and break into age ranges and show it even with randomly picked ones

Expand full comment

You again. I've already demonstrated you're wrong. The fact that you continue means you're pathologically dishonest.

Hospitals don't necessarily test the unvaxed at the same rate as they do the vaxed so the hospitalization data is likely to be heavily biased towards the vaccine.

There are a few. However a majority just say and do nothing as Marxism is ushered in. Lindsay afraid for his life? It never occurred to him why people showed up to protest an election that clearly had significant fraud? He just does not care about fraud. If he cared he would be happy to audit everything to prove the protestors were wrong.

Expand full comment

Protesting is fine. Going into the Capitol is what people had a problem with. That was a small group of fools that don't represent GOP principles. Some want to hug that anchor and some on the left would love to weld it on the party since GOP loses 2022 if too many still holding it. Why inflation is bad is better GOR topic than that craziness

Expand full comment

If they wanted to "turn over the government" they wouldn't have gone unarmed. That's the first thing some people miss. Secondly, they were invited in. It was clearly an ambush for anyone who can put 2 and 3 + 4 together. Sadly most of the kids voting D these days can't do basic math.

Expand full comment

This is SPOT. ON: "They are both evil parties, but there are good men in the GOP, none in the Democrat Party."

Expand full comment

I have seen none that follow the Constitution or not drunk on their own power. Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. And all want to get re-elected.

Expand full comment

To that old aphorism, I add that corruption breeds incompetence, and absolute corruption breeds absolute incompetence.

You can see it in practice throughout our society, from the military's F-35s and littoral combat ships to the new electronic catapults on aircraft carriers. In medicine, the corruption has led to hospitals that kill their patients and vaccines that kill more than they protect. Meanwhile, nobody in government thinks to create public service announcements encouraging high levels of vitamin D that would protect not just from Covid, but from influenza and a host of other pathogens.

Manchin seems to be a decent and moderate Dem and the only one I can think of at the moment.

Expand full comment

Yes every single democrat in the entire party is bad, but some of the Rs are cool.

Why do you think Desantis, McMaster, Kemp and Abbott all had slightly different strategies?

McMaster signed an EO LONG before any of the other three did but you didn’t even know that.

Abbott called GAB a platform of hate and Desantis let the executive session run out over the summer so he wouldn’t have to actually do something about masks.

NONE of them have spoken out on masks or vaccine mandates in d as my meaningful way and healthcare workers have been fired in all four states.

I suggest you read the post you replied to again because ZERO millionaires care about you or your family.

Expand full comment

Absolutely spot on, Antoinette. I would add the caveat that none of this will happen until the voting system is cleansed of corruption.

Expand full comment

And it never will be as long as the 2-party system is in place.

DeSantis is doing very well with vaccinations. The party supports personal freedoms but not mandates. After the last wave Florida added millions of vaccinations and not only are now above national average with that giant jump but also when I checked a week ago were best of all large states on 65+ with an average of 2.08 shots in that group. There are good people in both parties..pretty much good people everywhere. Hard to see that on social media where most (including myself) not at their bests

Expand full comment

So true Mike, thank you for being so candid. I add myself to not at personal best on SM.

Agree - I detest the republicans more than the democrats because they are the biggest liars of all and have let us all down. The first red pill though, is to get past the Democrats. The next red pill is to get past the Republican party until we get to conservatives and real values that provide liberty to all.

Expand full comment

Convention of States is one possible solution, term limits for Congress, clear out the career corrupt political class on both sides, valance the budget, axe the deep state and the 3 letter agencies that are destroying this country

Expand full comment

Yep exactly. Both parties, the media & hollywood elite and the corporatists like Zuckerberg etc. All allied against those who want to produce and work.

Expand full comment

Absolutely! This is a fight between good vs. evil and the fact that I'm a paid subscriber to Alex's substack who happens to be a left wing Democrat and that I think Dr. Pierre Kory deserves a Nobel prize even though he too self-identifies as a left wing Democrat tells you that I don't care about someone's politics as long as s/he is fighting for freedom. But, some R's do still believe in freedom and I am most assuredly pro-life that my voting (as meaningless as it is) still lines up with most Rs. I vote for Conservatives not the party line.

Expand full comment

Why aren't more people Independents? I have never understood that. Why must anyone insist on a one party loyalty?

Expand full comment

The reality is the Ds and Rs are part of one giant uni-party. I am not loyal to any party especially to these Rs who have not defended our Constitutional rights. I am a Conservative and it is those principles that I believe is worth fighting for. I would have hoped that Liberals would have at least agreed that medical freedom and autonomy is sacrosanct, but the fact is the left has gone too far. True Classical Liberals are like Unicorns they no longer exist. As a former Dem myself, I don't recognize the Democratic party any more. Rightly or wrongly, I've always thought of Independents as non-political with no particular beliefs. It is hard for me to understand that as someone who can be very passionate about what she believes in.

Expand full comment

I do not think they are.one party..that's not what I observe. Have.you seen the number of party line votes. I think the problem is they don't attempt to work together and I remember that was the common mantra and we would roll our eyes not believing they would as much as they said but it was.this obvious that people in general wanted them to. Now at.least.on social media, if parties work together some think that is a negative. If we want change, channel passion into a candidate.you believed in or run yourself. ..I kind of think Goose.should run for.office. ..if he does as an independent in your area, vote.for him. Ton of.good.people.out there and that includes many I'm sure.doing their best in government

Expand full comment

I am an Independent and very passionate and know many that are the same way. They want our Republic to survive and thrive understanding that our freedoms are non-negotiable. I just have a thing about being lumped into one side or the other.

Expand full comment

Most people simply adopt the views of their parents. They're never exposed to any other way of thinking and they make no effort to do any independent research. That's my theory anyway.

Expand full comment

My wife's brothers are far left "LGBTQ fans", "Climate Change is going to kill us in 5 years", and "all white people are racist" parrots. The parents are religious conservatives, but not really and that's where it falls apart. They just go to Church to socialize. My wife turned the corner when the pandemic hit. Prior to that she thought a lot of this globalist stuff I talked about was probably over reactionary on my part. Now she's on the war path out of a leftist state. Sometimes a baptism of fire is needed, but I like to think the years of small bits and pieces of information woke her up finally when everything was launched. Others I talk to, not so much. They still think the vaccine passport is temporary in states that are using them and that they won't need more vaccines. That will only be possible if the other side makes it possible because they all just go along as told like useful idiots.

Expand full comment

I never did, I was lucky, my parents allowed me to be a free thinker when it came to politics so I think I was an Independent straight out of the womb!

Expand full comment

Depends on the state politics. In California, I wanted to vote in the primary for the republican candidate, and I can't do that as an independent. As i understand it, other states are different and you can vote for anyone in a primary regardless of party.

Expand full comment

That is one downside, not having access to the primaries. Hang in there, stay safe and healthy!

Expand full comment

I'd want a moderate party that attempted to glue the two parties together...I think we are too divided. I tend to think that would work better grass roots level...for a presidential election am worried it would just help the less reasonable candidate win

Zero parties, just politicians with policies that they stick to.

Not a single Demonazi has done sh*t for me. And I was a life-long democrat. Now independent but voting Republican all the way. Except for Trump. I just couldn't.

Expand full comment

Which Republicans do you think are doing this?

Expand full comment

GOP mostly is against mandates because they believe in small government and personal freedom. They are pro voluntary covid vaccine since they believe in data

Expand full comment

The ones in Oregon where I live.

Expand full comment

I would say both are gutless, easily manipulated, globalists, that are so far removed from reality they are oblivious to the world most of us live in. Democrats win because that party will stand together, and do and say anything to win power. They have a plan. Ruin the US because they hate our history. Republicans focus on doing as little as possible and never ever standing up for the conservative base of the party. It started with their hatred of the Tea Party. Backstabbers. Both parties enriched themselves and now we are 30 trillion in debt because there were few grownups that told the truth that debt is going to take us all down. My hatred for Washington is at a boiling point.

Expand full comment

Both have done a poor job on fiscal responsibility. The view on which party is more divided certainly has changed. Seeing a few in GOP saying not to vote in Georgia runoff and costing GOP a 52-48 Senate is something I could never have pictured in the past. Lose the hatred and keep the passion and put it behind a candidate that you believe in...or run for office

Good luck to you and may your family be healthy and happy!

Agreed. As a family when we became business owners, it really changed our view of government. The city where we had our business hated small businesses unless they were woke and losing money. Then that business would get a grant. Keep losing money which actually hurt surrounding businesses as enough customers were siphoned off.

And when Republicans take control of your state's legislature, and nothing changes, what then? You'll go back to voting for Democrats? If it's true, that means that there are more of us that you would ever know if you only rely on mainstream sources of information. So, there may still be hope Mom.

Expand full comment

It gets confusing. 7.09 billion shots worldwide. US far behind other G7 countries with only 422 million. We are at 66.7% of total population so number was right but that was total not adult. Fortunately we are at 96.7% 65+ have the shot but unfortunately some of the reason that number is high is the ton of unvaccinated that died without it. We were going warp speed until April...rest of the world now is and we fell behind and have these stupid mandate discussions instead of just being positioned well. Covid by far the number one killer of unvaccinated since September. Best of luck all whatever your views.

The fighting was suppose to come first by those elected to represent us. They failed massively. It is because the global elite politicians are fine with fraud. If they win that party must shoulder the work, while the other party collects a paycheck and can complain 24/7. Republicans are not brave. The fear of being called a racist pushes them into a paralyzed state. Democrats use that tactic every single time. Republicans should have pushed back long ago, but instead let the party be damaged by slurs.

He’d stop pretending he won and instead say something like, “Of course I hate losing, only losers lose, but hey, it gave the country a chance to see the disaster that is Uncle Joe. We’re going down the chute even faster than I expected. Forget 2024, you’ll be begging for me back by New Year’s. $4 a gallon heating oil, it’s gonna be great.*”

But he doesn’t have any sense. So instead he plays into the hands of the CNNs and MSNBCs and puts the Republicans in an impossible position.

Lots of fake news and posting these days. Just like a lot of voters in NJ and Georgia that will show up on the voting rolls from the grave and out of state. Hope someone is watching the count!

You have no clue how corrupt the voting systems are in the blue states.

Damn, so close

Sorry if I'm too skeptical but I also watched every Trump rally with HUGE attendance numbers and we still lost.

Well… I can only say that my motto is “sanity is somewhere in the middle” … I can’t look at my country and say that I feel the constitution is being followed or upheld more than I can say it’s being torn down. That is really a problem for me. I can say I feel like our government is being run by “the man behind the curtain”. Who is that? It’s a conundrum -except that anyone who looks around with eyes they were born with and says “everything’s ok” has a definite problem. So for me it’s got to be anyone who agrees that “choice” no matter what that may be ..is important will have my vote… regardless of what color they represent. Things are most assuredly not ok.. if you have children or grand children that you wish to have a future that involves freedom … think carefully. Freedom to choose the most important things. I will add that not all of our youth are interested in having everything for free at any cost -for that is the tactic used upon them… many know that there is always a price to pay…and many do know what that might be. The world has become small and some do see that price. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Not all have been fooled. The rest may have to discover that truth the hard way. You must stand for something..or you will fall for anything. What price has freedom always cost us? It has not been money. Sadly, humans I feel are not at a point where they can achieve that utopian world we all wish we could have. Not as long as there are those in high places that can be bought and sold like cattle for paper and power. We may only have become more technologically efficient at making the same mistakes over and over again. A sad and frightening footnote for our species. Nothing and no government has ever been perfect-there is always room for improvement- but “master/slave” concept has never worked.

Subversion disguised as “compassion” or any other names used throughout history is a dangerous thing…

Beware people- an ancient tactic -under any name… and what it brings has never lasted.. but much suffering and bloodshed comes before it ends. As a person of history… I find myself bored with the reruns…

It's probably an accurate representation of reality anyway. Biden got no more than 20-30% of (real) votes in the 2020 election.

I don't know, my hearing's getting a little bad, but that doesn't sound exactly like "let's go Brandon".

Rapper song titled, "Let's Go Brandon," went viral on uTube; got banned there, which drove it to No. 1 on rap charts. The rapper thanked uTube for banning him.

Let’s Go Brandon - Bryson Gray version (all clean lyrics).

Much as we wish this were true, that video is actually from 2016. The first comment on the post in Twitter provides the link to the match between Argentina and...someone, I forget whom. Chile maybe?

Anyway, that video is 5 years old.

*who*, not *whom*. I think. I’ll have to watch that episode of The Office again…

Ok, I'll be the one defending Trump. I agree that most of the republicans are in on the corruption also. The dems are just worse. Trump was trying to do the honest best he could for the country. He got stuck with Fauci, Collins, and all our so called health agencies. I'm sure in the beginning of the pandemic he didn't know how corrupt they were. He didn't mind changing his position on any topic if he learned new information that pointed in another direction. If he was still the president I am sure he would never have done vaccine mandates and would have realized that the vaccines are causing great harm and would have done something about it. At the end of his term he was already realizing that what he had been told was wrong and he started having other advisors and was trying to end lockdowns and get kids back in school, etc. Realize he also got stuck with a corrupt DOJ, FBI, NIH, and on and on. None of us knew how deep the corruption was until they wanted to get Trump out of office. It is amazing that he was able to accomplish what he did with people who were against him in his own cabinet, etc. and the media totally lying about everything he did. The propaganda to ruin Trump poisoned so many people's minds against him just like the propaganda to make the vaccinated hate the unvaccinated and divide the country in so many ways. More tactics from the Marxist playbook. So many have drunk the koolaid that they can't see what is happening right in front of them.

Just wait 'til they start coming out with "fake" news releases using what looks like a sitting president. There was actually an event where some people posted what appeared to be a massive explosion in southern Louisiana and the major news outlets covered it for a few hours.

Good on you for responding to it so quickly, at least. The video was from 2016, but I wonder what the source of the audio was? It was certainly a *very* large crowd chanting, wherever they were. (Or is it reasonably easy to fake the sound of a large crowd?)

In any event, it's sure going to be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. I don't have much hope for an honest count, but at least in VA, mail-in ballot returns have been low so far. (But who knows how many ballots they'll suddenly 'discover' the night of the election?)

I have been reliably told that the phenomenon of people shouting "Let's Go Brandon" in sports arenas is limited to an extremely small number, about 25-50 people nationwide, of racist white supremacist racists.

Fake news.

I would say your “reliable” sources, aren’t. Concerts, sports, up and down the streets. It’s real. We are fed up with the deep state uniparty shadow government and it’s gotta go. Let’s go Brandon!
