About that red wave…
Ending abortion rights and denying the 2020 results has not served Republicans well
Should have stuck with my prediction two weeks ago.
I’ll admit it. I let my emotions take over. As someone who thinks the lockdowns and vaccine mandates were profoundly anti-American, I hoped to see the politicians who backed them punished.
But they were not top-of-mind for most voters, and in the end the blue states mostly held Democratic (I may also have been confused because my Congressional district may be one of the few to flip).
Turns out that abortion really mattered, and hurt Republicans in both red and blue states. I don’t think election denialism was quite as large a problem for Republican on its own, but it didn’t help - and the bigger issue is that Republican love affair with Donald Trump has turned toxic for both Republicans and Democrats. The guy is even attacking Ron DeSantis now - what more proof could you need that he cares only about himself?
I ask this seriously: Why can’t you quit Trump? What is it about him that’s so compelling?
Anyway, I guess the Republicans will take the House and could even sneak to 51-49 in the Senate (though that seems unlikely), but the next two years are going to look a lot like the last two.
Ugh.
Fetterman wins... along with some others that baffle the mind, our country has turned a scary corner 😢
Yo me it looks like a stolen election, again. But you will never see it.
