I am an enlightened, successful woman who entered the workplace in the time of Womens Lib and had a successful career in technology which was a predominately male field. Now retired. I love men. My best friends both on and off the job have been men. And my biggest supporters and mentors in my career. I've never understood the anti male thing, and I don't like it. I have a female acquaintance who is vocal about how horrible men are. She will never be a friend, because I won't bother with such negativity. And when I've tried talking with her about the why, I get nothing. She's a super lib democrat. Can't talk to her much about that either. So... life is short. I'll spend my time with more intelligent people.
I agree. I think Alex misses a deeper purpose: weakening men helps the state grow and strengthen the power of the politicians. When you have strong men and strong women who both support each other you have a strong family which people rely on instead of handouts from DC. When you divide the family you only hurt freedom and hurt everything that might stand in the way of state power. The rationale is overt but not always known by those “useful idiots” carrying it out.
🎯you don’t have to look far to see why they are doing this- 1960s , just look at how affective the government welfare system weakened and eliminated the need for black fathers. Before LBJ, black families were together. Then it created the most reliable voting bloc ever known- and it continues. So now they try a White version…
Correct AND I’d add an expansion: it’s not just to weaken the family - calling any and every relation possible does that (homosexual "marriage," polyamory, non-monogamy, etc). I take your argument and expand it to just dividing people in general: we have stoopid out of it men (reduced to just males) in broadcast commercials, media productions, etc., then we assaulted marriage, then redefined "family" into nothingness - everything is equal to a mother and father; the latest assault on the a pillar of society has been the assault against our girls - typically the most vulnerable in society. Now a girl, woman, is whoever says they are a girl/woman/female regardless of genitalia. Ultimately this purges the special protection(s) we approved as a society, Title IX, even to the extreme that historically safe spaces are no longer.
Sowing confusion and distrust is the enemies weapon.
Good for you! In my case, I've worked with (and been mentored by, in some cases) women in my working life. They took merciless advantage of me having to be cautious of my manner of speaking to them. They sometimes told the filthiest jokes or used sexual inuendo (jokingly) to try to get a reaction from me. I loved working with those ladies. This was in healthcare, and they were dedicated and enormously talented, while still managing to be feminine. This was in the early 80's when men were just beginning to be disparaged in the way Alex describes. My wife of 45 years and I can't believe some of what we hear and read women saying about men. We both agree we wouldn't ever want to be trying to find a mate today!
@Donna- I always preferred the guys to girls because they were more fun. Shoot- if they had allowed girls in Boy Scouts back then, I'd have been the first to join. They did cool stuff!!!
@SR- it would have been nice had the BS and GS had souble-trained in certain things. All we did was cooking, sewing, etc. That's important for guys to learn, too. The guys learned how to tie knots, kill and cook their own food, build and race cars, etc. Women need to know those things, too. So not necessarily join forces- there are things boys and girls need space to discuss what naturally goes on in with their bodies, for example- but the curriculum integration would have been cool.
You had Girl Scouts, you HAVE Girl Scouts; last I checked, you also have the Boy Scouts - or, should I say, scouting, there’s no longer Boy Scouts. You also now have boys and men in YOUR safe spaces. I’m gonna assume you’re satisfied.
@SR- I think you're overthinking this. Eevery one of my trans friends- I don't have that many but they're there- and even Caitlyn Jenner have said they don't agree with older boys and men in girls and women's sports. Either do I. Little ones, like T-ball, is fine. It's when the males start puberty is when the cut off should be. Men? Do a freaking DNA test to prove it to everyone.
But that's a physiology aspect. Knowledge is a different thing. Like I said, not necessarily making the scouts all one happy family but integrating the curricula would have been nice. The only reason my husband knows how to sew a button on is because his mother taught him, not his scoutmaster. The only reason I know how to change a tire is because my husband taught me, not my troop leader (see the name differences? Even the man is called a master while the woman is called a leader).
We’ve had 250 years of "compromise " with the left - all compromise means to those of you who wave it around like some sign from upon high is "my way or there’ll be trouble." When has compromise ever moved the net back toward the values and ideals this nation was founded upon. Like I said, Hope you and your children enjoy the loss of your safe spaces - you got your vaunted compromise.
How very interesting. I could have written your comment in its entirety, it sounds as though our life's experiences were very similar. And I couldn't be more in agreement with with your determination to spend your time with "more intelligent" people --- why waste any portion of our lives on those who have chosen to scorn half the world's population.
To Boots- That's why you and I are (virtual) friends. We seem to think alike.
Alex- we have a grown granddaughter with two girls of her own. Her husband is a little more feminine than we're used to but they've been together since Middle School so he's just part of the family.
But we have a 4 year old grandson (yes, big age difference, different parents) who is a moose. When I say he's built like a second grader, I am not exaggerating. He's intelligent, smart, caring, tactical, very observant BUT he had been teased in Pre-K (PRE-K!!) about his size. So we decided we were going to build up his male features and explain that God made him so tall and big so he can protect the people around him (and that his feet are big so his body has a stable foundation), smart so he could figure out the best plan of action, and caring so he could understand when someone needed help. That helped him tremendously. Kid's a beast but a gentle beast and he'll stay that way.
I told my son something very similar when he was getting picked on in grade school. I told him that you have a caring family, with a mom and a dad, a roof over your head and food on the table and that those other kids are jealous of you. If you look at their life they are missing something that you have and that is why they pick on you. There is something going wrong in the house that is causing them to act this way. You should feel sorry for them that they don't have what you have. Solved the problem with one conversation. And he said that yes, most of the kids picking on him did have problems at home or where from one parent households.
for my entire adult life, Men have been blamed for every ill of Society. You never see a man portrayed in the popular media in a positive light. God Forbid that we show a white male who is intelligent competent and who is willing to sacrifice himself for the good of others.
I’m gonna throw a flag on this comment: have you forgotten ‘the Cosby show?’ Strong responsible dad. There were/are others - I don’t watch a lot of telly but I’ve heard that the show featuring Tim Allen is good. Granted, I ‘spect they ARE few and far between, but they are out there
Cosby was a Black man. Portrayed by an actor who had massive personal issues that lead to his own arrest and personal destruction. Which the media cover up for decades.
Your lack of a cogent response response, need to inject race in to a race less discussion, failure to separate the failing of a person from a character he and the whole cast portrayed…
It’s clear you should be brought up on charges for malfeasance of alias 🙄
So Bill Cosby isn’t a black man? Bill Cosby wasn’t convicted of sexually assaulting multiple women for decades who were paid off or were afraid to speak out because of the protection he received from the elite media which always knew about his behavior
I am a 54-year-old woman with two 20 something sons and a very masculine husband. They are all three "high T", as I call it I would have it no other way. I pray to God that my boys find partners in life who love and respect them the same way that my boys will love and respect their wives. Neither should ever be putting the other one down in public or otherwise. I cannot stand the term "toxic masculinity". There is nothing toxic about being masculine, just as there is nothing toxic about being feminine. What we have in our society is toxic rhetoric pushed through social media and gynofascism. It's ridiculous.
To be perfectly honest, I'm a little worried about my sons finding good women to build a life with. Especially ones who won't vlog abou every little (mis)interaction. Social media has really magnified the worst in women, IMO
I am 76 and grew up learning how a gentleman is supposed to behave. I was on the subway metro some years ago when the train was quite crowded. I happened to be sitting while a young woman nearby was standing. I got up and offered her my seat. She replied loudly with expletives as if I had insulted her. I responded by telling her that her response to me indicated that the ordeal of civility was too great for her. I then sat down again.
I'm a woman and I would have been thankful had you done that to me. In fact, if any man does this to me I make sure to thank him--I never want men to stop behaving like "a gentleman is supposed to behave". Please don't ever let one bad apple ruin it for the rest of us. Society and young men need to learn from your example!
When I was young, my Dad [z"l] told me that when he saw a woman walking alone on the street at night, he immediately went to the other side of the avenue so as not to give the woman any concern and his friends would do the same. And that was in New York city in a rough neighborhood. That taught me something. Times may have changed but I have not. And I have taught my son how to show respect for all women so at least I have discharged my responsibility in that regard. Moreover, unlike that young woman on the train who became irate when I offered her my seat, I have never uttered an expletive or any other swear word in my life believing that aside from showing bad manners and bad upbringing, such language betrays an insufficient attention to proper speech towards others even when one is upset or angry. I guess you can tell from all this that I am something of a dinosaur who lives in the past. Of course, as the novelist William Faulkner once pointed out, "The past is not dead. It isn't even past."
There is an insurance company i will not name but it features ads with Doug and Lemu Emu looking like a fool in his child’s classroom or on the soccer field. Another one of their ads features a bumbling good looking guy who can never get the words right for the commercial (“bubble and save” instead of “bundle and save”). I thought these ads were funny at first until i analyzed them. It is always the guy who looks stupid. Suffice it to say i would NEVER buy their product because of how they portray the men.
They do have 2 women in the adverts lately and they are not shown as bumbling as their partners. Lets have a women act similar to how the guy's act and see how successful the adverts are. I don't mind the guys being bumbling because I am not that way, generally successful, and competent in most things. I do appreciate self-deprecating style of humor because of that. I give my success's from my two-parent upbringing and the same because of grandparents. No divorces and all typical mom and dad marriages for decades.
I work in the Deep South in engineering/construction and it is a highly male-dominated field. Maybe I’m just in a bubble or shielded from this sentiment but I rarely see the male bashing in my personal life. It’s usually in mass media or what I assume to be larger blue enclaves. But keep up the reporting Alex. As a father of 3, I will be purchasing your book and look forward to it.
Totally agree with the commenters, especially Karon M. I’ve always wondered why man bashing began. After all, aren’t they someone’s son, father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, etc.? There’s always been a rotten apple somewhere since the beginning of time, but modern leftie females are throwing out the whole barrel! Pure stupidity.
Read the Rational Male by Rollo Tomasi. Intelligently written, with excellent insights. His Substack is also very good. Alex, your articles are outstanding and this one hits on target.
Let's acknowledge, that the WEF and the elite globalists (the people that steer the MSM messaging), want to tear down the fabric of Western society... destroying the nuclear family, is their big target - amongst other crazed agenda's.
They're the definition of Satanic. Screw them. Let's de-pop (maybe 'detain' is a better descriptor) the idiots - like Gates. He's a busy beaver cranking out vaxxes for Ebola, et al..... remember when he bragged to Becky Quick (CNBC) that vaccines are hugely profitable... 20 x return on investment?
Thanks to RFK, with DJT's support -- got us out of the WHO. Great move. By by WEF & WHO & UN.
You may not like hearing this- but it looks like you are gaining some right of center- even conservative readers. Common Sense is not so common. I like it when I find it.
When the democratic party spends three decades trashing the second largest voting block in the country (white men), eventually they stop voting for democrats.
I look at "Men are trash" just like I look at "Believe all women". So how did "Believe all women" work out. These people, who voice these perspectives, are all great examples of people we should "not" listen to and who we all should avoid in our lives.
The men in my life have been legendary....but so were the women (they were just quieter about it). Certainly I've had a fortunate life but also been around enough to wonder why this isn't obvious to everyone? Trying to cancel white males (or any males for that matter) is so pernicious and destructive. Its certainly the devil's work (and our academic institutions and media companies are "all-in").
I am an enlightened, successful woman who entered the workplace in the time of Womens Lib and had a successful career in technology which was a predominately male field. Now retired. I love men. I have three girls and two boys and have always detested any movement to elevate one gender at the expense of the other.
