Here in Charlotte too. I teach at an elementary school and I have never seen anything more unsanitary and cruel. (I haven't found anyone on our staff that feels different) It is impossible to teach letter sounds and digraphs with masks on. It's impossible to teach a new language or new vocabulary with a mask on. Add the natural distance in a classroom of anywhere from 6 to 20 feet. The masks are filled with phlegm and they are wet after about 45 minutes. The children are inhaling fire retardants found in most fabrics, cotton and plastic fibers, detergent residues and their own bodily fluids that are naturally removed from the lungs every day. They have sties, pink eye, sores around the nostrils and mouth corners, and acne. Is the increased risk of lung cancer and/or lung disease worth it? It sickens me to watch the adults go to restaurants, bars, football games, coffee shops and remove their masks to enjoy themselves but the children sit at their desks fully masked for an entire 7 hour day. The adults in the room are narrsasstic, self centered individuals who care nothing about what's best for others. They sit on their phones and search eagerly for like minded
minions to placate the lack of evidence and mortality they possess. I can see no evidence of a single promask individual, doctor or politician spend a moment in school experiencing this.This has kept me up many nights to say the least.
That is just horrible. I have two high schoolers...one takes the masks in stride and the other I got a mask exemption for (high functioning autism...lots of sensory issues with masks). But in reality most people have issues with masks! What's SO unbelievably is that the schools and DOE's are supposed to be for children! They'd be the first one scolding parents for not sending in a healthy lunch or sending a child in without a hat in winter (but now keep the windows open in winter) but insist this is what is needed to keep everyone safe. Totally disgusting and is child abuse. It will be years...if not a generation's lifetime...to fix the negative psychological effects, and for those with special needs it may never happen.

Jennifer, invite doctors to your classroom. Under some pretense, if necessary, such as learning about hospitals or somesuch. Then ask the doctor to observe the children. I can assure you that most doctors have no clue about the use of these facecoverings outside of their sterile environments in hospitals or medical clinics. You might also invite a dentist you trust. And perhaps someone who knows the realities of workplace health and safety. I suggest the latter because face coverings are not PPE and so can not be required; they can be permitted, but not made mandatory. When your guests are in the classroom, be sure to include a friendly parent or two as well. If your school authorities object, you can always say, sorry, later, heh. You expressed your feelings about your observations; now act on them, kiddo, and be brave with conviction. You are a gentle lion with cubs under your protection.

How are your hearing impaired students coping, I'm hard of hearing and use Flight Deck level hearing aids, I had full hearing until my first Meniere's attack, #2 destroyed more, needed stronger aids, I need to see facial expressions, and no background noise, to have you look at me, not with your back turned to a blackboard or another student. Even as an adult it's been very frustrating. Lip reading is taught to kids, not adults. 1% know ASL. I don't need it, if I can hear past mask mumble and see your expressions.
The deaf find it particularly hard with these mandates for masks. My adult daughter, a healthcare worker, is deaf since birth. Severely hearing handicapped, she wore the mask everyday throughout the covid debacle, never complained. I dont know how she managed! Never got sick, Never missed work, fired! For not getting vaccinated, just like that, a career she worked so hard to get and did so well is over.
Exactly why my two children are not back in public school and the reason I quit my job there. I would not partake in the abuse and destruction of children.

It is here in Canada also, but just started this school year. It is as if they looked to the States and decided there was no way they were going to leave our kids alone while you guys are f@#king yours up - it just wouldn't be fair! Total insanity - they implemented this AFTER studies have shown how badly the kids are suffering from this! Got my little guy a medical exemption - it was either that or I was pulling him out - I refuse to let these petty technocratic tyrants destroy my kid.
I know some teachers know better and have 'no choice' other than to ignore if the mask is slipping or pulled down - but there are many around here that go to school double or triple masked ffs.
I cannot speak for the schools in North Meck, but I find most businesses in the area ignore his diktats and people avoid the establishments still trying to enforce them.
I can not legally do that. What we do is allow the masks to fall under the chin and say nothing which happens to most kids because they don't fit right. I pull mine down all of the time as do many others.

I'm also in NC, but in my area, almost no one puts on the mask. I know many who will simply not do business or enter any establishment that requires covering our faces, even within the counties like Mecklenburg who continue to push these evil rules. Of course, if you work at or have a child in a public school, you don't have that option, and I am very sorry for what the power hungry lunatics are doing to both children and adults. So, so sorry. It's unbelievably inhumane.
Same here, but my kids are at a private Christian school with over 1,200 kids and we signed they have “exemptions” because our kids were not going to become dehumanized sheep. In fairness theirs are legitimate, so we do lots of things maskless - let Skippy to send his sad little goons after us!!!!
Their school has allowed smiling faces whenever the stupid mandates aren’t in place, outdoors, lunchtime, for lots of “breaks,” and pretty much everyone sheds the mask the moment school ends. Unfortunately the county mandate was made over-broad to specifically target religious schools like theirs and a new charter school that’s stepped up and made a fool of the county schools since fall 2020. Heaven forbid some kids get a high quality in person education with a side of Morality. 🙄

We "escaped" to Banner Elk (and Florida) many times in the summer of 2020! I find that as long as we stay out of Charlotte, we don't have to worry about the mandates and we live like free people.
Yes!!! We are building a second home there. We’ve been going to Eagle’s Nest for years - the only thing we could kick ourselves for is not buying a house there pre-pandemic. 😂. We literally watch the stress leave our kids’ bodies there (and they are relatively insulated here because they go to a large private Christian school in High Point that has actually put the kids first this whole pandemic).

For sure...you saw it at the height of the "mostly peaceful" protests...yeah right! I visited my sister a few weeks after the riots and it was a fricken war zone. 60% or more of the wonderful and mostly ethnically owned restaurants and small unique business never re-opened either to this day. State Street there is such an attraction too not far from the lake. What was really sad was I remember tuning into a Wisconsin football game that ESPN or some national MSM channel, and during halftime they cut away to show the boarded up destroyed businesses which local artists had painted over. The reporter was sounding so impressed with all the artwork on all these destroyed livelihoods of innocent people. Could NOT believe I was hearing her say it the way she did. Never ONE mention of the riot effects . Just so disturbing...truly My sis is planning to move to Tennessee this Spring and she absolutely loved being in Madison until the commiecRATS destroyed it. She has said since about 2016 its been all down hill in crime etc.

The biggest lib in our family treats his wife, my cousin, exactly as you describe. He did nothing and expected to be waited on. One Thanksgiving, he actually asked her where she keeps the paper towels. I’ve also noticed my lib relatives do not contribute nor help at soup kitchens, etc.
I started noticing it 4-5 years ago and it’s been consistent. Every conservative guy I know, my husband included, helps with dinner, cleaning, kids, everything. They ensure everyone else’s wants are met first. The lib guys sit around hammered as their wives do everything even if they also work full time.
When we actually go volunteer our time, or to charity events we sponsor, the crowd gets oddly conservative (well, at the charity events people who make 3 x what we do but are lefties give 10% of the donation we do and spend more on their outfits than their bottom tier donation).
Even without NYC's current fascism, many of the great places have closed down, including the best bookstores, decades-old literary cafes, clubs, galleries, etc. It's turned into a giant big box shopping mall.

I agree, with some nuance. Depends on how zealous they are. Depends on what they're doing to help us resist. E.g. are they donating significantly to lawsuits? And there are certain lines no one should cross. A lot worse happened to the kulaks than getting shipped to Siberia. They starve-murdered at least 7 million in the Ukraine. Can't compare that to fines, or even losing a business.
Nuance exists. Some company executives are voluntarily embracing shot mandates to force onto their employees. But there are also business owners that acquiesce to covid tyranny dictates just to survive the political climate. You mention they should be contributing to legal funds. I would argue we should be crowdfunding the legal defense for them (assuming they did not vote democrat and brought this on themselves). Most business owners are middle class. The kulak point was mainly to point out the lack of empathy for the regime destroying people that seem to be more productive. They aren’t facing death, but taking away your life savings for refusing to comply isn’t a slap on the wrist. And I believe most cities engaging in this tyranny escalate the punishments for repeat offenders.

Well, a friend of mine, his family is moving from Manhattan to Houston and he's a hardcore conservative too. I suspect most people that are moving are conservatives and the ones who are staying are liberals. That's what the research says too. But I don't doubt that liberals are coming to TX too and they will attempt to ruin the place. When I was in Austin, someone saw my NY License plate in the HEB parking lot and he stopped to tell us that he doesn't like "you people" in Texas. I try to contemplate the type of person that believes in vaccine mandates, uses words like “misinformation”, cheers when social media platforms ban users, complains that people paying near or over 50% in taxes “aren’t paying their fair share” and that children are born with an original sin of color called “privilege.” No matter how much I try to give them the benefit of the doubt at the end of the day - they are monsters. The very worst type of monsters, who, given the authority would willfully conduct the worst type of atrocities. Here in Charlotte too. I teach at an elementary school and I have never seen anything more unsanitary and cruel. (I haven't found anyone on our staff that feels different) It is impossible to teach letter sounds and digraphs with masks on. It's impossible to teach a new language or new vocabulary with a mask on. Add the natural distance in a classroom of anywhere from 6 to 20 feet. The masks are filled with phlegm and they are wet after about 45 minutes. The children are inhaling fire retardants found in most fabrics, cotton and plastic fibers, detergent residues and their own bodily fluids that are naturally removed from the lungs every day. They have sties, pink eye, sores around the nostrils and mouth corners, and acne. Is the increased risk of lung cancer and/or lung disease worth it? It sickens me to watch the adults go to restaurants, bars, football games, coffee shops and remove their masks to enjoy themselves but the children sit at their desks fully masked for an entire 7 hour day. The adults in the room are narrsasstic, self centered individuals who care nothing about what's best for others. They sit on their phones and search eagerly for like minded
minions to placate the lack of evidence and mortality they possess. I can see no evidence of a single promask individual, doctor or politician spend a moment in school experiencing this.This has kept me up many nights to say the least.
That is just horrible. I have two high schoolers...one takes the masks in stride and the other I got a mask exemption for (high functioning autism...lots of sensory issues with masks). But in reality most people have issues with masks! What's SO unbelievably is that the schools and DOE's are supposed to be for children! They'd be the first one scolding parents for not sending in a healthy lunch or sending a child in without a hat in winter (but now keep the windows open in winter) but insist this is what is needed to keep everyone safe. Totally disgusting and is child abuse. It will be years...if not a generation's lifetime...to fix the negative psychological effects, and for those with special needs it may never happen.

Jennifer, invite doctors to your classroom. Under some pretense, if necessary, such as learning about hospitals or somesuch. Then ask the doctor to observe the children. I can assure you that most doctors have no clue about the use of these facecoverings outside of their sterile environments in hospitals or medical clinics. You might also invite a dentist you trust. And perhaps someone who knows the realities of workplace health and safety. I suggest the latter because face coverings are not PPE and so can not be required; they can be permitted, but not made mandatory. When your guests are in the classroom, be sure to include a friendly parent or two as well. If your school authorities object, you can always say, sorry, later, heh. You expressed your feelings about your observations; now act on them, kiddo, and be brave with conviction. You are a gentle lion with cubs under your protection.

How are your hearing impaired students coping, I'm hard of hearing and use Flight Deck level hearing aids, I had full hearing until my first Meniere's attack, #2 destroyed more, needed stronger aids, I need to see facial expressions, and no background noise, to have you look at me, not with your back turned to a blackboard or another student. Even as an adult it's been very frustrating. Lip reading is taught to kids, not adults. 1% know ASL. I don't need it, if I can hear past mask mumble and see your expressions.
The deaf find it particularly hard with these mandates for masks. My adult daughter, a healthcare worker, is deaf since birth. Severely hearing handicapped, she wore the mask everyday throughout the covid debacle, never complained. I dont know how she managed! Never got sick, Never missed work, fired! For not getting vaccinated, just like that, a career she worked so hard to get and did so well is over.

I know many who will simply not do business or enter any establishment that requires covering our faces, even within the counties like Mecklenburg who continue to push these evil rules. Of course, if you work at or have a child in a public school, you don't have that option, and I am very sorry for what the power hungry lunatics are doing to both children and adults. So, so sorry. I visited my sister a few weeks after the riots and it was a fricken war zone. 60% or more of the wonderful and mostly ethnically owned restaurants and small unique business never re-opened either to this day. State Street there is such an attraction too not far from the lake. What was really sad was I remember tuning into a Wisconsin football game that ESPN or some national MSM channel, and during halftime they cut away to show the boarded up destroyed businesses which local artists had painted over. The reporter was sounding so impressed with all the artwork on all these destroyed livelihoods of innocent people. Could NOT believe I was hearing her say it the way she did. The biggest lib in our family treats his wife, my cousin, exactly as you describe. He did nothing and expected to be waited on. One Thanksgiving, he actually asked her where she keeps the paper towels. I’ve also noticed my lib relatives do not contribute nor help at soup kitchens, etc.
I started noticing it 4-5 years ago and it’s been consistent. Every conservative guy I know, my husband included, helps with dinner, cleaning, kids, everything. They ensure everyone else’s wants are met first. The lib guys sit around hammered as their wives do everything even if they also work full time.
When we actually go volunteer our time, or to charity events we sponsor, the crowd gets oddly conservative (well, at the charity events people who make 3 x what we do but are lefties give 10% of the donation we do and spend more on their outfits than their bottom tier donation).

I agree, with some nuance. Depends on how zealous they are. Depends on what they're doing to help us resist. E.g. are they donating significantly to lawsuits? And there are certain lines no one should cross. A lot worse happened to the kulaks than getting shipped to Siberia. They starve-murdered at least 7 million in the Ukraine. Can't compare that to fines, or even losing a business.
Nuance exists. Some company executives are voluntarily embracing shot mandates to force onto their employees. But there are also business owners that acquiesce to covid tyranny dictates just to survive the political climate. You mention they should be contributing to legal funds. I would argue we should be crowdfunding the legal defense for them (assuming they did not vote democrat and brought this on themselves). Most business owners are middle class. The kulak point was mainly to point out the lack of empathy for the regime destroying people that seem to be more productive. They aren’t facing death, but taking away your life savings for refusing to comply isn’t a slap on the wrist. And I believe most cities engaging in this tyranny escalate the punishments for repeat offenders.

Same here. NYC was always a place to hit and visit. I may have been at least 20 times having begun my visits during the Koch years - incidentally, having taken in a Rangers game along the way. We were planning to head to Lincoln Center in 2020 before this hit but NY has shown a side of itself I wish it didn't have. Like here in Canada. Very disappointing. My journey into America will take me off the beaten path and into the places that kept their minds in tact.

Well, a friend of mine, his family is moving from Manhattan to Houston and he's a hardcore conservative too. I suspect most people that are moving are conservatives and the ones who are staying are liberals. That's what the research says too. But I don't doubt that liberals are coming to TX too and they will attempt to ruin the place. When I was in Austin, someone saw my NY License plate in the HEB parking lot and he stopped to tell us that he doesn't like "you people" in Texas.
