Turns out Unreported Truths readers love free swag as much as anyone else
The "UTFM" shirt promotion continues! And a couple other housekeeping notes.
Lots of good stuff coming very soon - including, I hope, a fascinating 1988 paper on 19th-century British attitudes to vaccination and mandates. Turns out not everyone saw vaccines as a savior even in the epidemic era. The more things change…
But first, a bit of business. Six days ago, I added an offer to the Founding Member ($300 annual) tier: a free T-shirt. This was - not to put too fine a point on it - a hit, the kind of hit that made me wish I’d done it before. I guess a lot of you bought Bitcoin in 2013.
However: A few standard-tier paid subscribers emailed to ask whether they would be missing out in the future on any articles, the chance to comment, et cetera. The answer is no. I’m not taking anything away - the shirt is just a small (and to my mind well-deserved) thank you to UT’s biggest supporters.
So, with that settled: if you haven’t upgraded, and you want to, you still can. (Or if you already are a founding member and want a shirt, please me know.) Email me at alexberensonauthor at gmail with your address and size. I’ll order the shirts soon. They’re pretty cool, if I do say so myself…

Two other minor points:
If you see a charge for BLUE DEEP on your Amex (or possibly other card), and you are a UT subscriber, please put it through. BLUE DEEP is my company; I’m not sure why, but some of you who were getting the charge as Unreported Truths Substack are now seeing BLUE DEEP.
And if you want to cancel and can’t for some reason (this happens once in a while, Substack glitches or maybe your annual subscription turned over without your noticing or what not), please email me before complaining to your credit card company. I assure you I am not in the business of charging people who don’t want to subscribe. I’ll sort it out more quickly than the card company!
Back to work…
Alex
Ok, I’m feeling a bit left out here. I feel I should be able to buy a T shirt with UTNFM on it. Unreported Truths Non Founding Member! Really though, there’s a big gap between $6 a month (or $72 a year) and $300 a year. I could do $150 a year happily, but $300 makes my billfold blanch. I should still like a T shirt. How about UT$150 CNFM - maybe that’s too much I guess. The C is for Cheapskate.
Wished I’d known about Blue Deep last week when Amex called and asked if I’d
made that purchase. I said no, they said your card has been compromised so they fed exed me a new one. Which I promptly used to renew my subscription after a few e mails from you telling me my payment did not go through. DOH!
