Do the kids that got seizures share any traits? Or is it a totally random population? The answer would make a big difference to me in deciding whether to vax or not.

Alex Berenson's avatar

Excellent question. Different kids are at different baseline risk - children who have a family history of siblings with seizures are at significantly higher risk, and kids who have already had a seizure are at higher risk for another. The researchers found about a 3x increase from baseline risk of seizures over that two-week period - WHATEVER the baseline risk. In other words, a child at low risk - with, say, a 1 in 4000 risk over a 2-week-span - would see an additional 1 in 2000 risk, which might not bother a parent.

On the other hand, a child who has already had a history of seizures and now has a 1 percent risk for another over a two-week-period would have an additional 2 percent risk over that span, which might be enough to discourage a parent from vaccinating, at least until the child is older and perhaps having seizures less often.

I hope this is helpful.

P. J. Eller's avatar

Alex, with all due respect, I disagree with you regarding MMR vaccinations for children who are "prone" to or "have" a history of seizures regardless of the frequency . The risks the MMR vaccines pose in this group, in my mind, FAR outweighs the consequences of the child actually getting either of these viruses.

John Rogitz's avatar

Very helpful, thanks. I asked a similar question yesterday about the thankfully rare kids who die from measles. It seems that the measles vaccine is overwhelmingly protecting against a nuisance, given the rarity of severe harm or death from the disease. If the poor kids that are severely affected by the disease share traits that other kids do not have, it would be quite reasonable to conclude that the risk of vaxxing may outweigh the benefit in the case of the "other kids". But I do not know the answer and I have not yet read of anyone asking the question.

Franklin O'Kanu's avatar

“I have to keep repeating this: I still believe kids should receive the MMR vaccine. But febrile seizures are just one possible side effect, and a 1 in 640 risk for a serious outcome is significant for a vaccine being given to healthy toddlers.” —— but why? Why should we still vaccinate especially when we know there is a risk of seizure?

Is it because we think measles or mumps is this terrifying disease that causes death… even though we have data to show that 98% of measles death were eliminated almost 60 years ago due to sanitation — and we’re even more sanitized now than before?

At what point does it then become delusional to accept risk when there’s no apparent need for harm?

This is a phenomenon that I just documented today on how Americans have been gaslit. We’re told these shots are safe, and to keep getting them, but to ignore the side effects we see: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/the-american-people-have-been-gaslit

I think it’s delusional — or incredibly naive to keep blinding trusting institutions that have lied (given ways to conspiracies as we discussed a couple days ago) — but I’m open to feedback

Jujusimps's avatar

I also cannot understand why you feel the need to keep repeating that you still believe kids should receive the MMR vaccine. Your presentation of studies and facts are very helpful, but your personal opinion seems to be in opposition to the facts you are presenting and remains set in stone. When risk of harm from the vaccines is proven (even to your standards), why would you still believe in subjecting a completely healthy child to such a risk, especially such a high risk? I agree with Franklin O'Kanu's sentiments - seems delusional to keep trusting those institutions who have perpetually lied and have done so much harm. I do appreciate the post, though, Alex, and the fact that you are always honest with your feelings and willing to put yourself out there.

Exactly. The key word is "believe". Hallelujah!

Aaron Siri's recent book "Vaccines, Amen" discusses this misguided devotion to these toxic injections in great detail. Many people vehemently support these injections based on nothing other than faith. Did the Covid operation not demonstrate that vaccines are a control mechanism?

I support Alex's writing and find it generally interesting. But when it comes to "believing" in these chemical injections, he needs to do some research.

Brogan12's avatar

That BOOK should be read and kept close the the vest by ALL. I've been saying long before the wuh flu PLANdemic of 2020 the church of vaccinology is not what its portrayed to BE. The BLIND FAITH people put into men with white coats and corrupted science manipulated by ulterior motives is what it is at this point! Suggest watching ALL 8 episodes at remedy.film too!

I could not agree more with you. It was lies at every turn with the deployment of the mRNA vaccines - human trials to secure EUA using one form of expensive purification to remove manufacturing contaminants, then switch to a cheaper method for the mass distribution on the public (so was there ever trial data using the cheaper process 2 method and what does it look like?), the intentional misleading the public about the fact that this IS a form of genetic therapy, and the use of the "safe and effective" slogan when there's an absolute auto-immunity harm to ever cell that uptakes the mRNA for spike protein production because our immune systems are designed to destroy the spike protein AND ANY CELL THAT PRODUCED IT. How are we supposed to "trust the science" any longer when every turn was filled with deceit?

Franklin O'Kanu's avatar

Thank you! The science was so bad to begin with. As soon as I saw the science for masks, I realized that Science was about to change to fit any mantra they wanted. I wrote a piece on why we Should NOT wear masks here: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/why-i-dont-wear-a-mask

But then, from masks, we got hospital protocols and then up to the vaccine — but its not a vaccine because it's gene therapy, so it has different rules — I just realized that whoa, things are about to get crazy, and boom here we are.

Unfortunately, we can no longer trust the science. I wrote an article called why we should "question the science," but this a great time, because we've as a population have gotten lazy in simply trusting what we're told. We've now began to realize that institutions lie. This is a great thing! Now knowing this, we can look and move throughout reality accurately, which is what we all want: life, liberty, and the purist of happiness.

Unfortunately, the spirit of greed is at every corner, and fake science is no exception. When we can see this spirit move, we can question, decipher, and move forward with peace and clarity.

With respect to your question about each additional vaccine causing broader systemic stress and inflammation, I think you’re overlooking a key issue in your analysis. Sure, we are exposed to bacteria and viruses every day… generally speaking, ones the human race has adapted with for thousand and thousands of years. The onslaught of vaccines, particularly new ingredients and adjuvants that are meant to elicit an immune response, is very new. I would argue that based on the studies done on many of the ingredients in vaccines, it’s much harder to argue that the cumulative effect of them doesn’t increase inflammation both acutely and chronically. And the chronic inflammation is likely a response to not only vaccines but everything else that we are exposed to environmentally, essentially never giving the body the opportunity to recover.

Peter Engelfriet's avatar

In addition: most vaccines are injected into the body in combination with toxic substances, in contrast to bacteria and viruses, which, moreover, do not all attack simultaneously

Taylornyc's avatar

As a father of an 11 month old this article is exactly why I’m a paying member of UT and why I find it so valuable! My wife and I disagree on vaccines as I’m completely opposed and she assumes they’re fine (although I’ve been able to convince her a bit), but I am 100% not allowing any shots at his 12 month appointment, including mmr. Important data points like this is huge for me.

I am not your Other's avatar

I am with you. I unfortunately trusted my child’s docs and a doctor friend and got all the jabs. Same doctor friend admitted after Covid that they just trusted the FDA and CDC were doing their jobs. Individual docs (including especially pediatricians) get NO training on vax other than JUST DO IT. Now I must live with the sad fact that we will very likely not be grandparents. AND said child, now an adult, unfortunately believes that vax are all good, so will likely get more.

Taylornyc's avatar

My wife doesn’t understand that pediatricians are taught exactly that. They believe it too - they aren’t evil. But they are wrong.

I am not your Other's avatar

Believe it. It is definitely true. I know from pediatrician friends. Many are young women and are same as my child, grew up getting vaxed and believe. With zero facts to back it up.

Umm - seizures indicate neural malfunction. Could Autism result? Seems not too far a leap.

Franklin O'Kanu's avatar

Michael, you're spot on! I have an article on autism and vaccine induced encephalopathy. It's literally what you say: neural (brain) malfunction. We just call it, "autism" — which unfortunately, is a great travesty: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/stop-calling-it-autism-start-calling

And then, I talk about how the field of psychiatry — yes, psychiatry — gets involved in classifying a physiological disease. How does physical brain damage translate over to something mental? This journey will surprise you: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/how-the-dsm-iii-and-tv-shows-rebranded

Vaccine harm has been a specialty — particularly, how this harm is covered up in broad daylight. It's an elaborate scheme, and we can see so here, but if anyone's interested in the whole gamut; check out this Substack on vaccine harm: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/the-complete-vaccine-harm-profile

P. J. Eller's avatar

Michael, my 2 cents about your question "Could Autism result?" Maybe. And quite frankly absolutely if the child has Fragile X or a predisposition for it. I have a grandson who was met all his milestones UNTIL he was given the MMR vacinne. Walking, talking, etc. Within a few weeks of getting the vacinne he lost it all. He is now in his 30's, non verbal autistic. We can't prove it but we KNOW it . We can't undo it. So for our family, interrogating medical professionals, doing our own research to the best of our ability is SOP for all of our family.

It's True's avatar

Science requires asking questions and being allowed to answer them. Otherwise it is just faith.

Franklin O'Kanu's avatar

Thank you! I wrote an entire article about this a few years back! I called it "The Religious Tenets of Scientism" and how we have so much "blind faith" in these institutions that it's a religion: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/the-religious-tenants-of-scientism

At least with true, Biblical faith, it says that "faith without works is dead." Here, with modern science and institutions, we don't have any works — we just have faith, blind faith at that. And I think that's incredibly naive and very harmful to have blind faith; especially in a world so reliant on information.

Jay Jackson's avatar

Absolutely! The answer to Alex’s last question is obviously no. Because in the last 20 years since the publishing of that article, the big pharma complex has gotten so insidious that they were able to brainwash the same people who are so pro choice (medically speaking in general) and fought against vaccines 20 years ago.

This is a problem Alex. You wrote: "I have to keep repeating this: I still believe kids should receive the MMR vaccine." Do you mean all kids? Like my kids? Buddy, you do your family, we'll do ours. Keep your hands off what doesn't belong to you and we can be friends, otherwise you and I will have a MAJOR problem.

J T's avatar

Great article. To your question, they absolutely would not publish it today.

Steenroid's avatar

When I did my research for my MS and PhD I tried to keep the number of variables as small as possible. The potential interactions could ruin the study and make your hypothesis void. There is no way the possible interactions between all the vaccines on the childhood schedule could ever be studied in a scientific method.

Sean S.'s avatar

Not only can they not account for all of the variables in the possible interactions between vaccines, to a greater extent, they can't account for all of the variables between individuals receiving the vaccines.

QuenOScots's avatar

I think for a start, all vaccines should come with a list of potential side effects just like the medications we get through prescription. I think the ratio of occurrence for those serious side effects should also be included. I say this is a start, because people can have side effects not on the list and so they need to constantly be updated... given my recent serious side effects to Xarelto which is toted as the safest and most effective blood thinner on the market... I know that side effect lists are not complete.

I am not your Other's avatar

Here is a sad fact. Doctors absolutely DO have a list of side effects. Let’s just assume that they are complete. Not that I would trust Pharma ever again. The problem is, doctors give you the list of potential side effects AFTER they have jabbed your kid!

Robert's avatar

No way they publish it today.

I challenge everyone to look up the Description section in the MMR insert and other vaccines . Let me know if you think it’s a good idea to put in an amazingly efficient natural immune system.

On a sidenote, most practitioners, give these injections without ever reading the insert. I know I was one of them. I’m very regretful.

mike peterman's avatar

I had the mumps and rubella during childhood. Neither one was debilitating at all. Mumps was a very bad sore throat and the rubella was a week off from school with little discomfort. So I do question the need for those 2 aspects of the shots. I did receive the measles vax.

mike peterman's avatar

I would also add, why is it necessary to get injected with all 3 at once? Common sense would separate the 3 of them, months apart. I'm no doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express recently.

DSB's avatar

I had measles. The only issue was I had to stay in my room alone, while my brothers got to go target practicing with our father.

Alex, for god's sake - grow some balls! it's not like you work for a drug company and have to pussy foot around.

1) "Most children recover fully from febrile seizures". is a vaccine induced seizure the same as a standard run of the mill febrile seizure? do we know? some children don't fully recover. considering the number of damaged children out there, should we take more chances?

2) "I have to keep repeating this: I still believe kids should receive the MMR vaccine." why do you have to repeat it? as an almost 73 year old person who had measles, mumps and chickenpox as a child, I can assure you that my high school educated mother was considered perfectly capable of nursing me through those "dreaded" childhood diseases without any "expert" consultation. there were no hair on fire newspaper articles screaming about scary "measles outbreaks." I now live in SC and the fear mongering is off the charts. this virus has been around forever while most viruses come and go when they exhaust their hosts. that must mean something. of course, there are many other things going on these days- the erosion of wages has made the single income family almost impossible and mothers haven't learned those mothering skills and can't take the time off from work to care for their sick children.

I don't have the link but there's a pretty recent retrospective large scale study out of Japan. they looked at adults who had had measles as children vs adults who were vaccinated as children. the adults who had measles as children had less heart disease and less of certain kinds of cancers. those benefits did not convey to the adults who had been vaccinated for measles.

it's a big problem now. mothers used to pass their immunity onto their infants so that new borns were protected from measles at a time when they would be most vulnerable. then they could get it at an appropriate time, get over it and have robust natural immunity.

plus any other benefits.

so, no you just can't stop cold turkey measles vaccinations but every child who gets measles now and recovers from it brings us closer to the day when we can get beyond our dependence on fake immunity with all of it's risks.

3) "I cannot help wondering if the 1986 vaccine compensation act, which made childhood vaccines immune from lawsuits, played a role in that cultural change."

you're kidding, right? OF COURSE IT DID. a product that the government buys from you, mandates and protects you from liability for harms? it's Big Pharma's wet dream. a billion a year for each vaccine on the schedule!

you can still find old television shows with 1960s and 70s era moms talking about how the MMR damaged their children. WE KNOW THIS! after the 1986 law was passed, we all forgot it and vaccines became an article of faith. now, try to find anyone with a realistic take on vaccines. even you're afraid to question them!!

4) "Further, we don’t really know what the risks of continuing to add new vaccines to the schedule might be. Might we have reached a point where each additional vaccine might cause broader systemic stress and a more severe inflammatory response? The answer is likely no." why would the answer be "likely no?" we do know that as we layer drugs into old people, they suffer more adverse reactions. why wouldn't we expect that the more vaccines we throw into the mix, the more brain damage we'll get? it's insanity NOT to expect that. are our children getting healthier or sicker? are autism rates going up or down? show me any evidence that children are healthier the more vaccines they get. I'll wait.

this is the one product we give to healthy children to alter the way their immune systems function. how could adding more and more of them NOT cause issues that we don't understand because we refuse to look for them?

in 1976, my cousin's wife took that swine flu vaccine and spent a year in a wheelchair with GBS. of course, these women were gaslit, told it was all in their heads, that they were being emotional up until the moment when the vaccine was pulled off the market. if one shot could do that to an adult's body, why wouldn't multiple shots do even more harm to infants? what happened with the covid shots? how can you say "likely no"? what about the people who took only one covid shot vs those who took every booster on offer? would you say that the "more the merrier" approach to covid vaccines was "likely" not harmful?

Come on, Alex. do some real research and be brave enough to call these things out!

Steven Wille's avatar

Last night (April 22) ABC news had a huge segment about the measles crises. The show congress people talking about how bad it is. Obviously, they did not read your article on this.

Graham Seibert's avatar

Alex -

Your middle ground coalition is shrinking. Experts Peter Goetzche (Vaccines - Truth Lies and Controversy) and Paul Thomas (Th e Vaccine Friendly Plan, the Vax Facts) have moved over. Thomas writes now, in Vax Facts, that the risk outweighs the benefit for every childhood vaccine.

I'll repeat my experience. Of 3 kids born in the '80s, all fully vaxxed, one has such severe ADHD than he has not worked for years. A second is dead of the Covid VAX. Of 3 more born in the 2010s, totally unvaxxed, no chronic problems. No allergies, tics, ear infections or any other quirks. Three healthy children. Per Thomas in the second book, a lucky one in eight, if half of modern children suffer some chronic condition or another.

carolyn kostopoulos's avatar

I'm so sorry you lost a child to the covid vax. I only lost my career of 40 years. all things being equal, I prefer my outcome to yours. blessings

Graham Seibert's avatar

I love your long, long post immediately following. Your career loss may have been the greater. My daughter's life had been so blighted by what she had been brainwashed to think about the evils of the white man (viz, me), and relationships in general, that her death may have been a blessed release.

carolyn kostopoulos's avatar

oh goodness. what a tragedy. it's so sad that women (and weak men) get entangled in this suicidal and self loathing empathy trap. I'm sorry it sounds like you hadn't reconciled before she passed, which is a hard cross to bear. the man I live with has 3 daughters, two of whom no longer speak to him. he's got grandchildren he's never met. they broke over his involvement with me after his long marriage to their angry man-hating mother and they've obviously picked up her "disease."

these days, I question whether women should ever have been given the right to vote. you see such toxic emotionality and immaturity from women in politics. I started my own business, a theatrical costume shop in NYC in 1980, so all my employees were women or homosexual men; I didn't have to boss any actual men around. the libertarian in me would not pay tribute to the labor union and I was comfortable with never doing a Broadway show but our work was so good that we did many Broadway shows in spite of our lack of union control.

concurrently with that, I was the Costume Director of the Spoleto Arts Festival in Charleston, SC from 1982 to 2022, going as far as to have my contracts rewritten to remove the required tetanus shot. after retiring from NY, we moved into one of the 4 investment houses I had bought in Charleston over the years. now we live here without purpose and try to leave town every year over the Festival's opening weekend. it broke my heart and if I didn't love this house so much, we would move. as a person who had dedicated my life to the Arts, which I believed were always the safe haven for misfits and rebels, I was so disappointed to see the Arts cave to propaganda and conventional obedience.

I find I can't trust hardly anyone anymore. I lost so many friends. my NY assistant of 40 years recently sent me a nasty email saying he never wanted to hear from me again for some indecipherable reason. the covid boosters he's taken have probably rotted his brain. oh well, it's one less funeral I will have to return to NYC to attend.

but again, I am so sorry about your daughter. you've lost the chance to recover her.

Graham Seibert's avatar

New York in the arts? I bet you are out of sync!

I was born in Berkeley, attended Reed College in Portland, finally graduated from UC Berkeley and worked in Washington DC and Bethesda. My partner in my last business was gay, as were most of our employees. None of them flamers. You would not have noticed if you didn't know.

After retiring 30 years ago, I took advantage of a Maryland program that gave free tuition to senior citizens to enroll in a PhD program at the University of Maryland. I lasted one insane semester in the school of education, after which I segued into the statistics program.

The Bethesda scene was absolutely crazy. I got canceled by my three grown children. Their mother simply didn't care. It became very clear she did not want grandchildren, but I was a pretty competent husband and we had lots of money. It was I who called it off in 2006, after my youngest child emphatically canceled me. Since which I have been cancelled by her entire family and just about all of our mutual acquaintances.

I moved to Kyiv and found who I was looking for after two years. We now have three children. As I have been a writer all my life, the story is told in some detail on my website.
