I am an operational meteorologist of XXX years and I have noticed the same thing.  This is gradually getting worse.  Let's outdo our competition in scaring everyone.  The AP is the worst.  Seth Borenstein is the king of exaggeration!  Practically everything he says is wrong or just exaggerated.  No wonder not many people believe the press these days.  It did not use to be like this.  But in my XXX years of broadcasting the weather, this is crazy…

When someone you meet tells you what the weather will be like in 30 to 50 years, just ask them how about next Sunday.
