She parroted other people's words---when she could remember them. Otherwise, she didn't indicate that she was thinking for herself... unlike Trump. She WAS a bad candidate...
If a word salad were a salad, then it would be a salad made from words. But words aren't tangible. So you can't really use them to make a salad. Certainly not a word salad. When you eat a real salad, then you won't be hungry anymore. But if you try to eat a word salad, you will still be hungry, and so a word salad isn't a real salad.
