Justice delayed is justice denied: run out the clock until they are out of office was the playbook.

The process is the punishment. No one in the swamp never gets held accountable. Hope that starts to change tomorrow.

Some of the defendants in this case are not covered by the "immunity" that the judge effectively granted to the federal government, yes? Mssrs. Gottlieb and Slavitt come to mind. Aren't they still on the hook for potential damages?

As for actual federal government bad actors here, there ought to be a way for the Supreme Court to provide for money damage claims, where, as here, the federal government bad actors knew they were violating the Constitution and effectively using their perceived "immunity" as a cudgel to commence and sustain that Constitutional 1st Amendment violation with impunity. It isn't right that there should be a federal immunity "shield" when the person committing the bad act knows they are breaking the law in the performance of their duties.

Local, state, and federal officials are covered by the judge made rulings of sovereign immunity. I think this is immoral and unjust that government officials bear no costs for violating our rights.

Jack Gallagher's avatar

No argument from me. But, Gottlieb was on the Pfizer board at the time, and Slavitt had left government for at least part of the time of his series of bad acts.

Donnie Claxton's avatar

Agreed. Gottlieb is on liberal TV programs frequently. The hosts seem to forget or not really mention that he is on the Pfizer board. Slavitt wouldn't let his kid sleep in the house while visiting from college.

Yes justice delayed is justice denied. Japanese Americans locked up in prison camps in World War II and the black victims of the Tuskegee experiment waited almost 60 years for recompense and vindication. I don't think the Tuskegee victims got any recompense. Most of the victims and their wives and children were already dead before the vindication.

I don't think the victims of the Tuskegee experiment ever got an apology from the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH).

Local county doctors and the future head of ADPH enabled and tacitly participated. ADPH is celebrating its 150 years of public health rule but they elide their role in the experiment.

80+% of people in positions of power influence control and authority are corrupt immoral and uncaring. And that is NOT just politics, but in every arena of society. Don’t agree? Hmm, look at those in your businesses, schools, hell, your homeowner boards…

I do not know if you are aware of the 2023 US Supreme Court decision in Tyler v Hennepin County, Minnesota. The county took Tyler's property for unpaid property tax of $15k and sold it for $40k. They committed tax equity theft and kept all the money. Lower courts in several states agreed that tax equity theft was OK for government to do. Until the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the practice violated the fifth and eighth amendments. It should have never taken a 9-0 decision for government officials to recognize the corrupt, immoral, and uncaring, and greedy practice. Public health and government stole life years, property, businesses, educations, jobs, and a life time of pain which far exceed tax equity theft. Public health save no one and harmed everyone.

They all suck, Repugnocants and Demoncraps, there’s nothing going on in DC outside of sociopathy and abject cowardice. It’s evil beyond reproach with no hope , and you all think it’s going to go away just by singing Kumbaya and being polite. You’re all F’ed in the heads…

We are on our own. This is what the world needs to understand. The system only looks after itself. Anything that resembles the state looking after its citizens, is mostly PR for the purposes of reelection.

Donnie Claxton's avatar

Yes, and only around election time. I have written to at least 15 Alabama supermajority Republican elected officials with only 3 giving a courtesy response. Forget the arrogant public health officials who refuse to answer, most of the elected officials refuse to acknowledge me. My mailbox and inbox will be filled with political garbage asking for my vote before the primaries in March 2026.

All of this goes to show that the immense size and power of the Federal government is way over the scope of the Constitution. The sheer power of it is no longer limited. We have a limited, Constitutional government, in theory. In practice we have neither.

Maybe you should have still gotten that injunction, Alex. As far as I can tell, the Trump administration has barely put a dent in the censorship that seems to exist across almost all media platforms. The deep state is still active, despite its being attacked from above, and the US government was still a defendant. I doubt it can be erased by a single administration -- only temporarily neutered, at best. This fight has just begun.

Good luck. Watch sociopathic leftist political scum drag your name thru that septic tank of Washington DC, and then cowardly Repugnocants throw you a toilet paper roll as a life preserver.

Sheesh, testify in the Capital, it’s like taking a dump in an abandoned outhouse.

But, good luck….

The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act signed by Obama makes it legal for our federal officials to lie to American citizens. Previous to this it was illegal with penalties. That law needs to be acknowledged and changed. Perhaps you might mention this to the group that made the law for Barry to sign.

Seemsastho's avatar

Didn't know that. It absolutely should be repealed. Illegal with penalties sounds more like it.
